      Taking a look at the circuit diagram, the only loops that current flow through is the first and third loops. There is or there will be no current flow in the middle loop because is an open voltage source. Remember Open means there can be no successful flow of current in that loop. In that case, the 2 ohm resistor you’re talking about, will have no current flowing through it hence, you cannot write a KVL equation including it. Always remember V=IR I hope this helps you in your future analysis of circuit related problems.

    How do you calculate the gap between stripline and patch?

    • @GongaRosen
      @GongaRosen 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is most likely too late, but this may help others. Generally, you want the "gap" denoted as "g" to be g > 2 * microstrip width. For a more detailed approximation of the gap, Mohammad Abdul Matin wrote a paper called "A design rule for inset-fed rectangular microstrip patch antenna". It provides (general) insights on the approximations emtalk used (most likely) to generate those values.

      Looking at the loop which contains the 2 ohm you’re talking about, you’ll realize that that loop was open and that no current flows through that loop . So basically, you cannot write a KVL equation without a current flowing through the resistor. i.e., V = IR

    At higher frequencies, the patch thickness must be taken into account. Is there such a calculator? Or a calculator as part of modern versions of the NFSS? The formulas are mostly known. But for the edge impedance of a patch having a thickness, I don't know the formula. In addition, to calculate the length of a quarter-wave transformer, one must take into account the two-way fringing, and not just divide Lambda / 4.

      Hi @Anis there's no formula to use in finding the width and length of the substrate but depending on your patch size and feedline size, you then pick an appropriate size to accommodate them. • @kinemarc
      @kinemarc 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Eddie Mensah, if you take a look at the question well you find out that in finding the total resistance(RN), the other path is not short circuit but it is an open circuit Look at it from this way 1. Place a voltage source between the terminals from which I was finding the total resistance 2. Now if that voltage source produces current, you will see that it will split between the 4ohm and 6ohm. 3. Now since there will be different current through the 4ohm and 6ohm resistors, it makes the be in parallel not series
