The decade changes the treble resonance peak. At 0 it's a higher frequency , and sounds sweeter like a strat. At 10 the peak is lower like 2.5 khz or so.

I wonder how the guys in the 60s would have judged this? You’re literally comparing tones to the Fender Strat and Tele and Gibson Les Paul all in 1 guitar. It’s wonderful. Just like the other ones I mentioned.

I had one just like that once...I bought mine a few months after Hanz bought his...along with a 1969 Marshall 50W plexi head and a non-Marshall cabinet - all S/H, from Zenith Music in Claremont, Perth. I loved it, but I needed money a year or so later, and to my eternal regret, I sold it. I should have taken out a small loan, but I was a very long way from home. I still have the Marshall. Now whenever I play one of the riffs I wrote on that guitar, I feel regret. I have a number of really nice guitars, but they don't quite get the same mellow sound - you can come close, but it's not quite the same. There's also a feeling in the wood - the LPR was built to the highest standards Gibson had at the time.

Love the design of the neck pickup. More balanced neck output at that angle. Also love the aesthetic look of the video at 4k. So crisp.

I play 10 to 52 on any of my guitars with a hollow body. .

I bought one of those new in 1973. They are a really good guitar, and I used one for many gigs- it had more of a single coil vibe in the tone and as a result it could cover a lot of genres- I used to use a EHX Power booster/ Line driver and no other pedals into a Marshall 50w combo with the volume maxed out and used the guitar volume to control things from clean to dirty- what a sound! I eventually sold it later in the '70s to get a custom build. They had a little transformer inside to go from Lo Z for mixing consoles, to High Z for amp inputs.

One has to be careful to claim that a pickup is "extremely hot", when you look at what "extremely hot" means today..

I have that very same model. Bought mine in May 1972. Sam Ash, Long Island. The difference is I have a more standard bridge saddle, not that harmonica style bridge, and the tuners are Grover, not Schaller.

This sounds exactly like the Dom-church in Cologne. That is a building a mile high, a mile wide and 5 miles long. And packed with curved arched roofs and stone colums that echo to 72 directions. What went wrong with the reverb spring units inside the amp? Or does this guitar do its own reverb?!
