Идеальное состояние 👍
I think the 96 had a 5 speed?
Yes
yes, but this one is a early one so it has the 4spd. You can notice it because of the D, N, S, L instead of 5D 4L letters on that plate (do not know the correct name)
Amazing car!
My favorite car I own is a 96 gs
So nice to finally see an all original Javelin AMX that hasn't been hot rodded or have non-original after market garbage added. Clearly original decals, vinyl top and paint. AMC put the best of the best into the AMX, doesn't need to be changed. Hope this one was a keeper?
Hello Mario, do you know what brand of muffler is in it, Borla, Flowmaster, Magnaflow, model type? Sounds good without too loud sound. Thanks, Scott Johnkins in NJ
Hello Mario, I bought a std bore 401 block from you, in about 2013? Met you near Lambertville, NJ to pick it up. I haven't built it yet, but have all the parts needed. I plan to only hone the cylinders and keep it std. I'm still amazed, the cylinders have zero wear, not even the slightest ridge/lip in the cylinder walls. Do you have any idea where it came from, an AMC car or a Jeep? Can't be more than 10K miles on the block. If you recall I'm the original owner of a 1972 Javelin AMX and upgrading from the 304 my car came with from the dealership. If you have any questions about accurately restoring a '72 I can help, I know every detail about the '72 Jav AMX, so many I see on youtube are poorly restored. That Javelin in your video, what an excellent find, looks 100% original, but a red engine? Could it have originally been built by AMC for a Calif dealership? I know GM in the 1960s and '70s painted engines red for those cars going to Calif for their different emissions requirements. The interior is perfect, mine also is perfect and has vinyl seats, however, the vinyl today is hard as a rock, starting to crack at the stitching, foam beneath is OK. Is your '72's vinyl hard? My car has always been garage kept and pampered. Best, Scott Johnkins, in NJ
Hi Scott. Nice to hear from you. I’m not sure but I will ask my friend where the block came from if he remembers. I sold my 72 on bring a trailer a while ago. You are correct about the red block. That car was in exceptional shape and the vinyl was still soft surprisingly. It lived it Ca and Oregon. Would love to see you car sometime when I’m up in your area.
i seen some pretty AMC Javelins but this is got be the nicest one for me.....orange and white outside and light brown inside ....who ever got this sweet 74 AMX 401 is one lucky person
need to do another walk around vid of this
Javelin was such a badass looking car. Kind of a morph of the Mach 1 Mustang and a Camero of the day. So crazy those dash controls are horizontal over the steering column. And the driver controls the radio! Ha 😂
nice car, don't see these around my area anymore
Drama
What motor? Sounds like the 304 but don't recognize the red... car looks to be in great shape!
The '72 Javelin, if it came with a 360 or 401 there would be an emblem on the front fender next to the side marker lights indicating size, if a 304 and no emblem like this car, it would be a 304. The VIN number on the dash would confirm, a 304 shown by an H in the VIN, a 360 is P, a 401 is Z. Same on the valve cover tag, located on the right front valve cover. The master cylinder is the only item I see that is not OEM. Note the original coolant decal on the left side of the radiator, that's where is should be. Everyone gets that wrong, putting a reproduction decal on the center hood latch support as was only done on the '68 - '70 cars.
Just wondering what is up with the passenger side inner fender?
Current high bidder, hoping to take it home!
Very cool!!
That car looks identical to the one driven by Nacho Varga in the show "Better Call Saul"
I love my 93, wish bone suspension from the SC makes these drive like butterrrr.
They're interchangeable? Easy swap?
@@_chiaki_nanami_ At the time, i didnt know the suspension is actually closer to Supras geometry wise.
What a beautiful car! Were I in a position to bid, I'd do it in a heartbeat! I sure hope this finds a good home.
