Aisling
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 9 ก.พ. 2016
Aisling is a homestead located in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, operated by husband and wife, Isaac & Angela Rochester. Our channel focuses primarily on general homesteading, gardening & greenhouse advice, DIY projects, product reviews & cooking tips.
Our Story:
We met as teens, and started dating in our 20s in 2013. We married in 2016 and over the first 6 years traveled in music ministry with Isaac's family called The Brent Rochester Family. In 2021, we purchased our property, and developed it.
We now homestead while continuing to travel in ministry and work as the owners of a painting company. Because of our frequent travels, we focus partly on homestead automation, giving us a unique method of living country life to the fullest! Angela is a native Virginian while Isaac originally hails from South Carolina.
Why the name, "Aisling"?:
Well, it's pretty simple. Aisling is Gaelic for dream or vision. This homestead is our dream realized!
In Christ,
Isaac & Angela

Long-term Automated Chicken Coop
PVC WATERING SYSTEM:
1 in or 1 1/2 PVC w/screw off cap for cleaning installed at a slight upward tilt to prevent air trappage through the tube.
Tubular pipe insulation
Thermostat controlled heat tape
PVC Insulation Jacket: expressinsulation.com/products/pvc-insulation-jacket?variant=500354077¤cy=USD&gclid=Cj0KCQiAubmPBhCyARIsAJWNpiMZOu3ikLoM7dJ9cwULAf1P4Lakr8lNM2ORz85IoViV9HDt5vXHabsaAmZIEALw_wcB
Nipples: shop.heritageacresmarket.com/products/horizontal-poultry-nipple-waterer
These will be installed horizontally.
Water shut off valve.
Pressure controller (If you know of a good one, please let me know!)
CHICKEN FEEDER:
4 in clear PVC gravity-fed feeder with hopper built to accommodate 150 lb of feed
The purpose of the clear PVC is to allow me to see if feed is getting low on my phone though the view of closed circuit cameras in the coop.
VENTS:
The coop will have an open/close vent on each end of the coop for ventilation
LAYING BOX: bestnestbox.com/collections/all/products/small-roll-out-chicken-nest-box?variant=32064349798489
I plan to install the boxes 3 in above the top of the deep litter area which means that the bottom of the box would be 9 in from the floor of the deep litter area. Thoughts on if that is an appropriate height?
WALLS: Walls will be finished and insulated primarily because I want to prevent the possibility of the plumbed waterers freezing as much as I can, but also to provide a cooler space in the summer as the property doesn't currently have any shade.

Jon Boat Tour
มุมมอง 784 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a 14ft. Jon boat. The motor is a 2.5hp Yamaha, and the trolling motor is a 27lb thrust. Both run great. The boat has a new paint job, and while I was at it, I applied sealant on the rivots below the water line for added protection. The inside features the super-tough Raptorliner truck bed liner made by U-POL.

Rikon Replacement Belt Tutorial
มุมมอง 5K6 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video, I demonstrate how to replace the belt on a Rikon 70-105 mini-lathe
great walk-through, thanks for that. I just picked up a used 70-105. Would be great to see a general how-to tutorial for soup to nuts usage!
Exactly the video I was looking for!! Thanks!
Happy that it was a help!
Great video. Very helpful. Thanks. Looks lke my lathe model WOOD LATHE MC1018
Watched your video - thanks for that! I have the 70-220vsr and I was thinking I needed to change belt. I got looking at it and found my problem was not the belt but it looked like the drive sheaves and the spindle sheaves(pulleys) were not lined up with each other. I loosened the spindle sheaves and tapped it back towards the hand wheel about 1/16 of an inch, put the setscrews back in and it runs like a charm. I am suggesting to you and the others that have frayed belts to check the alignment of the to 2 sets of sheaves(pulleys). My Rikon is about 5 yrs old and I have never had any problems until now. Thanks again for the video!
Great video. Very helpful. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Very amateurish.
That is correct. With all due respect, I think we can all agree that your comment was "very amateurish". Personally my favorite term is "bush league."
Good one. None of the other videos I've watched even address pulley alignment.
Glad it helped
thanks for a very comprehensive and clear tutorial on how to replace the belt.
Glad it was helpful!
If you had this for only a couple months, why would the belt need replacing? I ask because I think I may need to replace mine but felt was way to early out of the box to need that sort of repair.
Hi Darryl, my first belt just did not hold up for some reason. It started fraying the first week. Got a new belt, and haven't had any problems since. I figure that it was just a manufacture's defect.
@@aisling9126 I literally just changed mine as well. brand new November. Was making the machine bounce and shake. Feels like a new lathe now.
Awesome!
Darryl Switzer same! I couldn’t figure out why my lathe has a wobble to it. Then I realized there’s a big peice of the belt has no rubber so it loses the tension everytime it goes around ahaha
Thanks for the video! Im setting up my shop to turn pens. This will help!
Awesome Mike!
