Long-term Automated Chicken Coop
PVC WATERING SYSTEM:
1 in or 1 1/2 PVC w/screw off cap for cleaning installed at a slight upward tilt to prevent air trappage through the tube.
Tubular pipe insulation
Thermostat controlled heat tape
PVC Insulation Jacket: expressinsulation.com/products/pvc-insulation-jacket?variant=500354077&currency=USD&gclid=Cj0KCQiAubmPBhCyARIsAJWNpiMZOu3ikLoM7dJ9cwULAf1P4Lakr8lNM2ORz85IoViV9HDt5vXHabsaAmZIEALw_wcB
Nipples: shop.heritageacresmarket.com/products/horizontal-poultry-nipple-waterer
These will be installed horizontally.
Water shut off valve.
Pressure controller (If you know of a good one, please let me know!)
CHICKEN FEEDER:
4 in clear PVC gravity-fed feeder with hopper built to accommodate 150 lb of feed
The purpose of the clear PVC is to allow me to see if feed is getting low on my phone though the view of closed circuit cameras in the coop.
VENTS:
The coop will have an open/close vent on each end of the coop for ventilation
LAYING BOX: bestnestbox.com/collections/all/products/small-roll-out-chicken-nest-box?variant=32064349798489
I plan to install the boxes 3 in above the top of the deep litter area which means that the bottom of the box would be 9 in from the floor of the deep litter area. Thoughts on if that is an appropriate height?
WALLS: Walls will be finished and insulated primarily because I want to prevent the possibility of the plumbed waterers freezing as much as I can, but also to provide a cooler space in the summer as the property doesn't currently have any shade.

This is a 14ft. Jon boat. The motor is a 2.5hp Yamaha, and the trolling motor is a 27lb thrust. Both run great. The boat has a new paint job, and while I was at it, I applied sealant on the rivots below the water line for added protection. The inside features the super-tough Raptorliner truck bed liner made by U-POL.

This tutorial demonstrates how to assemble the Marker Armor Sharpie Kit from Woodcraft. This a difficult kit to put together, but the results are very rewarding!

Watched your video - thanks for that! I have the 70-220vsr and I was thinking I needed to change belt. I got looking at it and found my problem was not the belt but it looked like the drive sheaves and the spindle sheaves(pulleys) were not lined up with each other. I loosened the spindle sheaves and tapped it back towards the hand wheel about 1/16 of an inch, put the setscrews back in and it runs like a charm. I am suggesting to you and the others that have frayed belts to check the alignment of the to 2 sets of sheaves(pulleys). My Rikon is about 5 yrs old and I have never had any problems until now. Thanks again for the video!

That is correct. With all due respect, I think we can all agree that your comment was "very amateurish". Personally my favorite term is "bush league."

Good one. None of the other videos I've watched even address pulley alignment.

If you had this for only a couple months, why would the belt need replacing? I ask because I think I may need to replace mine but felt was way to early out of the box to need that sort of repair.

    • @aisling9126
      @aisling9126 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi Darryl, my first belt just did not hold up for some reason. It started fraying the first week. Got a new belt, and haven't had any problems since. I figure that it was just a manufacture's defect.

@@aisling9126 I literally just changed mine as well. brand new November. Was making the machine bounce and shake. Feels like a new lathe now.

Darryl Switzer same! I couldn’t figure out why my lathe has a wobble to it. Then I realized there’s a big peice of the belt has no rubber so it loses the tension everytime it goes around ahaha
