Pre-Rec "Mr. President" Challenge - Response [IMPOSSIBLE STAGE BEATEN!!!]
มุมมอง 2.6K8 ปีที่แล้ว
This video is a response to the challenge presented by Jack and Rich during their October 19th stream of the game "Mr. President". Video here: th-cam.com/video/gRTzH3nnprQ/w-d-xo.html For the record I'm not looking for an apology from Jack or Rich here (In the stream Jack says if someone in the audience can beat the stage and prove it he'll apologize. For what I have no idea.), it's a hard stag...
From Star Wars to Jedi The Making of a Saga HD
มุมมอง 228K9 ปีที่แล้ว
Star Wars as a franchise has been chugging along since the late 1970's, in the time since their release there have been many documentaries and featurettes chronicling the production and impact of the 3 original films . The most influential of these documentaries has to be 1983's "From Star Wars to Jedi The Making of a Saga" which inspired many children of the 80's and 90's to become the effects...
I still find it funny that after all these years that one of the Ewoks was played by Kenny Baker the same guy who worked inside the Artoo Detoo costume.
I remember hearing that the puppeteers responsible for making Yoda 'accidentally' dropped the puppets head cracking it if I remember correctly and they nearly ended up ruining it.
I remember hearing in this that they cannibalized battleship model parts for the trench run for A New Hope.
The one part I wish they kept in Return of the Jedi was the scene that was shown in the original trailers where they showed Luke and the others boarding the Millennium Falcon and Luke's X-Wing.
What George said about imposing the monster over the actor for A New Hope is exactly what he did when they did the Special Editions for the 20th Anniversary of the franchise.
When this came out Star Wars was still so young, it hadn’t even finished its first decade. That’s younger than the MCU is now, or Avatar.
Still wanna know how Vader missed & why didn't he use the force 🤔

What ever happen cloud city
George Lucas is a God to me!
What makes it even better this wasn't CGI .This was real physically hard work!
I have this on vhs
Wookiees would have been better than stupid Ewoks
It was Originally.George Decided he wanted a Primitive Culture to Fight the Empire.Wookies Understand Technology and Whatnot. And He wanted to Sell More Toys.😊
With the proper ending, I see.
That's the STAR WARS I remembered ❤🤚💪💫
Cmon disney...give us the originals
So sad what’s become of his creation
Épisode 4,5,6 les meilleurs de la trilogie de la saga de stars wars
Que sad que no hayan aprovechado a Boba Fett y su enorme potenciál para villano recurrente en la trilogía...
i now see the world for what it truly is. shitty
The thing I find ironic is that Lucas & even his contemporaries were once young, idealistic film makers who railed against the Studio System, thinking they could make great movies at a fraction of the cost than the “blockbusters” of the time (disaster movies & Planet of the Apes were the flavours then). Now George Lucas has changed Hollywood & how movies are made, & every movie is a sequel, a franchise, & a special FX /CGI laden multi million dollar gamble heavy on nostalgia but void of much storyline, heart or soul. At least the original SW had bags of heart & soul as well as a clear cut definition of good vs evil. Lucas is now that evil, soulless corporation that’s netted him billions but sucked out his heart & soul, as well as that of the movie industry. Is SW the franchise the REAL Dark Side?
If only theyd left it alone with the original trilogy.
Your efforts to share this are to be highly commended. Bravo!!!
Not the biggest ser for a movie location mark Hamill, smh.
George Lucas created one Hell of a Saga. Who would've thought Disney would ruin it?
this was and is such an inspirational documentary as a young filmmaker; George being prescient as ever
Make SAGA Great Again
This is the only Star Wars movies that I acknowledge. Marvel Star Wars comic are true to the series from 1977-1986.
This video just doesn't hit the same without the distortions and fuzz and the pan and scan from the VHS tape I recorded off of PBS at Christmas time in 1983
whats a saga? SAGA?
This needs to be on disney+
I’m really loving how you painstakingly edited in HD footage , proper aspect ratio into the entire thing, including the opening ad. Great job.
Yes, Ben Phillips!!! I totally forgotten about this great documentary. I had it once on VHS and knew every word from it. Thanks for posting it. It's my birthday on top of all that. So thank you very much.
Wow, my childhood great memories. Thanks for posting, I first saw Star Wars to Jedi back in 1983 on KQED telethon around that fall season.
This video shows how Abrams,Kathleen Kennedy, and Disney failed to understand and ruined StarWars with their callous creation of FORCE HEALING. If that were possible NOTHING in these movies would have ever happened. Quigon would have lived,Anakin would not have become Darth Vader,Vader would not have died after killing the Emperor...and think of all the deaths that could have been avoided during the Clone Wars with Jedi force healing...smh...George Lucus selling to Disney 😢..murder.
Force healing has existed in Star Wars since 1978. The Rise of Skywalker, and the Sequel Trilogy in general, was just badly written.
I used to have this on VHS
Almost sounds like Jay talking.
The moment I realised this is about Return of the Jedi I was switching off. I despise that movie. Two brilliant films followed by 🐕 💩
Thank you for this! My dad had this on VHS when I was a kid and I watched it over and over. It’s so great to see it again and in such a good restoration! 🎉🎉🎉
I still remember a time as a child in 1983 when I saw this on PBS knowing it might be the last source of Star Wars footage ever. Then came Ewok Movies and Saturday Morning Cartoons. Then came the Prequels. Then came the new cartoons. Then came Disney. Maybe I was right in 1983.
Right you were.
😂😅😂
13:08: Now that A.I. tech has been able to isolate John Lennon’s voice for the new Beatles song, could it be done to do the same for this track (which is in the film but was never released), by removing Mark’s voice and other sounds?
This is great! I recorded this off the TV back when it was first shown...and I watched that tape to absolute death!
Narrated by Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill from the Original Star Wars Trilogy fame!

I picked this up on VHS at a flea market when I was like 12 and watched it until the tape broke! Thank you so much for uploading ❤❤❤❤
I have always been curious to hear what 1983 George Lucas would say about the prequels.
I think he'd still make them mostly the way they turned out (maybe with a few differences, since the lore was still developing in his mind at the time).
He'd be thrilled as the technology he helped develop finally caught up to what he originally wanted Star Wars to be. If you read Jonathan Rinzler's Making Of books you can read first hand how miserable he was making them because of the limitations of not being able to fully realise his vision. I'm glad he got to make his films the way he wanted them as it's all about telling story with him versus a corporate product like it has become under Disney.
i have a question: a lot of behind the scenes clips in this were reused in the 2004 Empire Of Dreams documentary in slightly higher quality but in shorter duration. could one theoretically crossfade those clips against the VHS clips to get a slightly higher quality version?
Lucas' six films and original EU > Disney Star Wars (especially Kenobi, Andor, and Ahsoka).
"Hey, sweetheart, I like your threads!" *tail smack* "! ... Sorry." That part still gets me every time! XD
