    Hi i am sorry i do not mean to be rude, I like watching your videos which is why i watched this one, but this is a 6.5 minute video about Khasi of which 2.5 mins is just a hindi translation of a Khasi poem. So this 4 min video about Khasi has a 30 second digression about lonliness and the remaining 3.5 mins has like 10 individual Khasi words spoken and does not even mention the language's phonology, orthology, or its morphology. I really feel bad saying thing but please don't turn into another NativLang.

    No Lakshmi but a yakshi, a tree spirit or a mythical being in Indian folklore. The figurine, lacks many of the attributes of Lakshmi, like the lotus, elephants or owl. Some early researchers believed it had been fashioned in Mathura but that theory has been discarded today. The most widely accepted source of the sculpture is believed to be Bhokardan in Maharashtra (modern-day Jalna), which was a part of the Satavahana territory. This is supported by the fact that female figures similar to Pompeii Lakshmi were discovered by archaeologists there. However, this is not a foregone conclusion. The base of Pompeii Lakshmi bears a Kharosthi inscription, which suggests that it could have travelled from Gandhara in ancient Indian (present-day Pakistan). The figurine also bears some similarities to the Begram Ivories from the Kushana period, which were found in Begram, Afghanistan, between 1936 and 1940.

      He's considered important because he's the starting point of khadiboli hindi poetry , he created first hindi riddles , and a whole hindi dictionary . He has said all those vile stuff , no denying that , but he was indeed a talented poet, you can't deny that too!

    • @Ishan9920
      @Ishan9920 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Asamanya_ No doubt, he was a great poet, and I understand that you’re not defending him but just presenting the facts (though not all). I appreciate that. My point is that his darker side is no less important for everyone to know. Even in schools we aren't taught about it,. It is also disheartening to see someone like him being worshipped in India, especially when he(being a sufi saint) glorified Khilji, who was responsible for the killings of so many innocent Hindus.

    • @aravdogra4192
      @aravdogra4192 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      2 points 1) Khusrow had been dead for 300 years when Aurangzeb was born 2) Khusrow was a court poet of Khilji. It would make sense that he would exaggerate and glorify Khilji's conquest and actions, no matter how vile they are, it would get him patronage. The point is that we don't know what Khusrow's personal feelings on any of these incidents were because he was not writing for himself, he was writing to glorify Khilji. He even calls the Lodis, another Muslim Empire that was at war with Khilji at the time, infidels. Because his goal was to depict Khilji as the most legitimate ruler. The Khaziainul Futuh was a relatively short work composed at the tail-end of his life, compared to the hundreds of Sufi poems and riddles he wrote in both Persian and Hindavi. Does that make any of what he wrote okay? No. It might be reflective of his actual feelings. But it is a small part of his legacy and was done under patronage from Khilji. He was a Muslim Turk who dedicated his life to writing in and studying the languages of India and created foundational pieces of literature in them. Your first comment asked why he is important, because of his contributions to Indian Music and literature, because he is essentially the father of Modern Hindi and Urdu poetry and of HIndustani classical music. He was the starting of cultural syncretism and the "Indianization" of the foreign Empires that were entering India through the Hindu-Kush.

    • @Ishan9920
      @Ishan9920 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@aravdogra4192 Sorry, I mistyped Aurangzeb for Khilji in my previous comment . Yes, I completely understand the significance of Khusrau’s contributions to Hindi, Urdu, and Hindustani music. As someone from Chittorgarh, my issue is not with his talent, but with the selective admiration he receives without addressing his problematic glorifications. 1. While Khusrau may have written under patronage, as a poet and historian of that time, his words still hold weight. Glorifying Khilji and the destruction of places like Somnath or even making derogatory remarks about Jauhar cannot just be dismissed as "court duty." 2. Yes, he played a key role in shaping the so called "cultural syncretism", but at what cost? Isn't it important to recognize the violence that often accompanied this "Indianization."? You mention Khusrau’s work as a small part of his legacy, but for those of us connected to the stories of Khilji’s brutal campaigns, that part of his legacy is significant.

    • @phloems
      @phloems 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Ishan9920 history shapes the future action. Yes if it is biased, it can do a lot of damage. If Khusro wrote it being biased or the people who are writing about khusro making these mistakes they are doing damage to the overall society in some sense.

    How is your channel so underrrated! your videos are entertaining and great. and unlike some other indian linguistics related youtubers (iip) who dont actually know anything about linguistics and just yap about nonsense concepts

      Firstly I thank you for even that much consideration! But I don't think it's good to disrespect anybody, ashris is a good creator , you may be critical of him even I am sometimes ( I didn't like his art student tweet ) but you can't deny he kind of started a wave of Indian interest in language and linguistics.
