A spin around Barrow Hill Garden Railway Show
Excuse the grainy quality, was the only camera had with me when had an invite to have a turn on the Barrow Hill turntable during the 16mm Association garden railway show in September 2023. Many thanks to Paul for the lovely opportunity.

Thank you for sharing this! I grew up reading Mr.Jones' column 'Scribblings on a Workshop Wall' in Garden Railways. Compton Down still provides me with inspiration and something to daydream about!
Thank you, so good to hear.
I also remember buying magazines purely because they contained an article of Peter's and a few CDR cameo photos. He had an evocative way with words. I've kept them all.
Lovely 😍

Rose of the Torridge - Wren replica of Devon County Council loco built by my dad.
Hi@Ben Harley , it was a largely wooden replica built using 'Pixie's original (very shot) saddle tank. Built using extensive research done into Wrens at the end of the 70s. Attempts to save Rose fell through after Dad died, although I believe the tank itself survives and is now held at Purbeck Mining Museum.
A little bit of heritage garden railwaying for you. An afternoon steam up at Phil Flints' line in Hook, Pembrokeshire. The occasion was to return the L&B loco built by Phil after reviewing - also present are Jack Wheldon & (possibly) Mrs Wheldon & Peter Jones with family and Hilly with the lovely St Bernards. The station building and Hook station sign survive at Llechfan Garden Railway in Tywyn. Sadly the layout (built with Dad as consultant) no longer exists. Guessing by ages at around 1985 ish
Absolutely stunning! I love the low shots along the track through the bridge!
Yeeeeeeeeeeeee HAH!!
Welcome to youtube! Nice little bit of kit!
