My Dad was stationed there in the early 70's...I went to elementary school in Boron.
I've driven by this a bunch of times and always wondered about it, especially the big radar dome. At least I know what is there now.
Nice Dilly
love cal city, no rangers who harass u unlike gorman, been going there since i was a little kid even though i still am
Got a thumbs up just for cause of Foreigner.
Thanks for the watch and thumbs up. I used this song at the time because Foreigner had just followed me on Twitter, they are still following even after all these years...
@@ItsadillyZ cool
How old are you
LOL..... in my 50s, and how old are you?
huh
We took it down www.ctienviro.com
Awesome video! Had a ttr225 now I'm on a TTR250. Good Job guys!
Did someone buy the Juggernaut from uncle Jerry??
3:00 in... HEY!! DOWN IN FRONT!!! Haha... Great video! Very good quality/camera work.
Very cool video 😎 I just rode out there with my dirt bike buddies today to check it out. ✌🏼 I took a few pictures of some quite beautiful graffiti... believe it or not. It was fascinating and fun to explore
fyi: you can find it on Google Maps by searching Locust Road, Boron, CA
Thank you! Helped out a lot. Im a photographer. My instagram is @sethvision Richard M
Jeez, you kids actually PAY to ride in the Great Mojave Desert? I know of a place closer to LA that's free and better riding, less rocks. Been going there since 1976. Best desert riding in the world! Where is it? If you've frequented the area near Mojave for the last 40+ years, you already know. I was talked into Cal City back in 1986. It sucked! (at least compared to my area!)
Haha.......KIDS, funny............. I've only been to Cal City a few times as an adult, but many times when I was kid!! This time I went there with some friends that wanted to go, I'm not a big fan myself. I'm not a one place rider, I like to check out other places to have fun. I've ridden Jawbone, Dove Springs, Searless Station, Trona Rd. Last chance Cyn., among other places like Rowher Flats, Hungry Valley, Johnson Valley.......Sounds like you have a secret place you want to share since I don't know where the "Best riding in the world is" I'm hoping you'll tell me/take me there because I would like to say that I've ridden "The best desert riding in the world"..................... Is that where you live, out in Mojave?? Im over here in Ventura County.......... Thanks for checking my videos out, talk to you soon
You really need to read my (unpublished) book, "The Dirt Gang" about my life off-road on two wheels during the "Golden Age" of dirt-biking (1965-1985) in and around the Mojave Desert. The forward was penned by Rick "Super Hunky" Sieman hisself! You know, the dude that brought us Dirt Bike Magazine back in June of 1971? Gimme your email and I'll send it to you. Lots of vintage pictures including the present Jawbone Canyon store sign that still has a vintage Bultaco up on the pole. I got one HELL of a Jawbone story concerning a CHP and a county sheriff trying to catch the 3 of us, two on Yamaha 500 thumpers (TT & XT 500's) and me on a Honda XL250 with a Powroll 305cc kitted engine.
Oh, shit! You're in Ventura County? I was BORN on the Sea Bee base at Port "Why-Not-Me" (Hueneme) back in '54. I grew up in Thousand Oaks and lived in Oxnard, Somis, Cambodia (Camarillo) Simi, Moorpark...that's about it. I'm now an 11 hour drive in Southern Oregon but that doesn't stop me and my lady from going down at least once a year. You get on my email and I'll tell you the best riding there is! Easy,David "TT500" F. 94.7 KMET: Whoo-Ya!
Born and raised in Camarillo myself!!! Send me some info my friend.......... Itsadilly@msn .com
You were actually BORN in "Cambodia"? I'm so sorry! Seriously, I'll email you right quick...
Im just wondering that there are lots of yamaha's in here,,i thought the ktm's are dominating just like in European dirt racing
good job!!
Thanks Alex!! .. Still looking at videos, hopfully I got some stuff of you
That was a good race check out my footage! | Nogo 540

@@ItsadillyZ well I was hoping for a clear track but during practice it started pouring. It was a cool experience tho I made a lot of memories
AMAZING
Thank you, thanks for watching
That's gotta be in somis right?
Certainly I must know you. I've burned way too much gas in that river bottom. Sucks they bulldozed the track across the river. Who are you all?
Very cool!!!where is it?
looks like great fun! Do you guys ever come across practicing shooters with guns?
That place reminds me of some parts of Clark the former U.S. air force base in the Philippines. Some of the buildings and the houses are like that after the volcano erupted way back in 1991. Plus there is a abandoned hospital in Clark it's also haunted the "ghi" ghost hunters international went there couple years ago.
Are you kidding Chris. These kids are at the top of their game and worked hard to even earn the opportunity to apply to this series. If you saw the requirements you would understand.
this is on HWY 395 just north where it intersects with HWY 58...north of Kramer junction
I was stationed there 10/71 to 1/74. First assignment out of basic. Thanks for the memories.
I was a kid there at that time. Those pool parties were great.
I used to live there. I believe it was 1978 when my father helped open it up into a prison camp. It used to be a SAC base (Strategic Air Command) during the cold war. It was left idle for a few years and then we moved into it. Honestly it was a great place to be as 13 year old kid, before people had cable tv and home video games. The employees families were like one big family. Its kind of hard seeing it like that. Not the way we left it for sure. But, its still cool to see it again. Havent seen it in about 35 years. Thanks for posting this.
+Philip Janes Thanks for giving us a little back ground and insight about this mysterious place!! I can only imagine what kind of play ground it must of been at age 13. I have only been there twice, we went on a Friday and went back the next day. It was a little upsetting to see what people who don't care can and will destroy. Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed it.......... If you don't mind I'm going to share your post on my personal Facebook page
+ItsadillyZ My pleasure. I hope people who are going up there find out a little about it. It was a cool place to be at the time. Saw my first coyote up close there, Todd my first motorbike, shot dad's gun for the first time there. Saw my first rattlesnake there, and tarantula, and tarantula wasp! Helped build the baseball diamond also. My friend and I used to go hiking and shooting out there. Also I remember riding our bicycles down to Kramer Junction and getting a burger at the Astro Burger. I think it was about 5 miles from the compound to Four Corners.
It was my first assignment after technical school in 1960, at Amarillo AFB, TX. It was the 750th Aircraft Control & Warning Squadron under Air Defense Command (ADC) in 1961 and later became 750th Air Force Station, before I was reassigned to Beale AFB, CA in 1963. We had dormitories for unaccompanied airmen/sergeants and the housing area for key accompanied personnel. Some of the other accompanied personnel lived in housing at Edwards AFB, CA, which was our support Base. If you were at Four Corners, where the two highways intersect, you could see what looks like a golf ball (enclosed radar tower) on top of a mountain, that was the 750th AC&W Squadron. We had a mini Base Exchange store/Auditorium in the same bldg, a dining hall, outdoor swimming pool, tennis/basketball court, and a softball field. We had a motor pool of vehicles and civil engineer bldgs. Our Hq ofc, Provost Marshall ofc and Squadron Supply we're all in the same bldg. We also had an all ranks club where you could eat, drink, dance when we had a band and gamble whenever we had Casino night. Our basketball team (750th Radarmen) won the Edwards AFB Intramural Base Championship in 1961-1962 and had five of our players on Edwards' base team. We were ADC and Edwards' players were Air Force Systems Command (AFSC). I can remember it like it was yesterday. The 750th was never a SAC base because it was only a Squadron. I enjoyed seeing where I was stationed the first few years of my 30 years in the AF. Thanks for the memories, I was so happy when I left LOL.
Sorry, I haven't been keeping up on here very well lately!! Thanks for sharing Milton!! A story always helps me to confirm that filming, filming life, all the adventures I go on, and just some stuff out of the norm, is worth sharing..... And maybe, just maybe it might mean something special for someone............Thank you for your service
I lived there from about 1970-73 when I was a kid and it was kind of cool. There was a nice pool and recreation hall with a basket ball court and a weight room, pool tables too. We had Christmas plays and Halloween parties. The NCO club became kid friendly on the weekends till mid-day and there was bingo and live entertainment at times. There was also a two lane bowling alley with tournaments. Sometimes, we hiked out to the old volcanic hill and built some rock walls to claim as a fort out along a hillside or some other depression. Lots of bike riding and target practice was done too.
I think im gonna move to CA

cool video dudes but dont keep making the same song repeat
Thanks for watching KW!! Its hard enough finding songs that THEY will let YOU/ME play on our videos and to find 2 that THEY will let me use and that will go along with the video is ever more difficult, so that's why I use the same song more than once in a video!! Ill try and get a video on with 2 different songs, working on my next Cal City video, Ill try it with that video........Thanks again
