It's been alleged that originally Carpenter wanted to do a direct sequel to "Black Christmas," but the rights couldn't be secured, so instead they made "Halloween."

As this video is relevant to the sad news, I thought I would pay my respects to the passing of the talented Olivia Hussey as the lead character Jess in 1974's Black Christmas. One of the great final girls in horror film history and will always be remembered. Other credits include IT, the TV mini-series (1990), Death on the Nile (1973) and many more.

Just found out Olivia Hussey passed away, so sad. Watching the movie again tonight in her memory 😢

There is a lone cop outside the front door on the porch, so there are 3 people left. But Jess is heavily sedated, and wouldn't have been able to scream. And i doubt the cop would be able to reach her in time, let alone hear her. It's a very scary, open-ended finale.

I absolutely love this old slasher style movie. I am literally watching this right now. Poor Claire, she was the first victim. Margot Kidder was great and Olivia Hussey was the best. The remake was ok but the original is the best

Nice review, watched the movie last night and enjoyed it, thought they could of told it in one part instead of two as musical is 2hrs and 40 mins. Still a good movie though, enjoyed it, casting spot on, music wicked lol. Just thinking how with certain things they will tell & show 2nd part? Gonna be interesting, but nice review, enjoyed, have shared & look forward to seeing more in future. Keep up the good work. 😀👍

It's different. It's offbeat. It's most definitely unconventional in its presentation and delivery. It possesses supreme visuals. Some call it a mess and say it's unbalanced. It is, in fact, a beautiful mess and is perfectly unbalanced. It's a Francis Ford Coppola masterpiece.

I'm not a fan of body horror, or horror in general. but man, I went to see this on Saturday, and it has gone right into 2nd place in my Top 5 of the year. What a film!

His Alice in Womderland wasnt a live action remake of the disney film so much as a live action of the book.

Mary's need to bring the novel into the screen seemed to threaten a radical defense of the book's malignant sarcasm but most of the movie just sits there, looking at trouble rather than looking for it. It's a little smug to exist at all. There is literally a scene involving a show-and-tell between business cards where Patrick gets jealous which is honestly a sharp substitute for penis envy. The director isn't really making an intriguing point as much as she is forging and exercise in getting away with murder. That bleak sense does permeate the movie but the director takes Patrick's behavior too seriously for the story to resonate as the satire it is. I prefer movies about characterization and as far as I can tell, Patrick doesn't have that. this film labels itself as a "comedy" and "satire" but I don't see anything that resembles wit. The director's approach to the book is dismayed as if she reached the final pages and decided that Patrick needed to be stopped. Cult devotees will chew it up which is fine but for me it's a buffet without much aftertaste. My personal score is 5/10

How do they keep giving the Director a budget I will never understand......with so much demonic murder in USA this film is opioids to ambitious serial killers and mass murders.....good job Hollyevil.

So you did a great job with the review! I told some of the scenes with my dad what happens in this movie and he thought it sounded kind of creepy! I saw this movie as well! Going into this blindly having knowing nothing about this movie! I was thinking of this idea for an episode where the main character’s dog gets stolen by two cult leaders who are naked and the cults supports a tree! Also I wanna name the episode “the house of the cult” You can guess what’s that’s a reference to! Also after the main character kills the man cult leader the woman cult leader eats his heart and turns into a creepy angel to kill our main character!

Watched it last night. Excellent. Makes you think the whole way through, especially the end.

Liked this more than Poor Things. Had more to say and the 3 different stories kept it interesting

It's not the film or even the length that has crashed takings but the world economy with high interest rates , makes going to the movies with a family untenable for most, once slushies and popcorn are added to the list of dinner and lunch beforehand. Miller is king and will skip dinner for him anyday!

Do *NOT* insult your intelligence by watching Tim Burton's version. There was so much talent wasted on that film. I was working at a theater in Times Square on opening night of that movie, and I just vividly remember all of the people coming up and asking for a refund from my manager 😂.

This movie was so BLOODY FUN! The actress of Abigail was insanely good and the movie was so funny. I has an absolute blast with it and cannot wait to watch it again. Going to be apart of my halloween viewing for years to come for sure. Great review!
