Just found your channel mate some epic footage and just subscribed 🤙🏼
Yeah well don’t come to Tassie it’s over crowded
Sometimes, in some places. That's why I explore. Surfed my local yesterday arvo and it was wall to wall gumbies and speedbumps. Really frustrating. That's why you have to get up early...
Nice mate near dodges ferry 🍻😎👍🇦🇺
Very close indeed.... 😅
This looks amazing
Spent some time in Launceston around Xmas 1989. Paradise. Had Xmas dinner with a girl, and a family named Hodgson ( an EMT at 18 in Hobart) there. Un forgetable. Being a Seppo from California.
Mate, the south of the state is even better! You'll have to travel the whole state one day.... 😁
@benvaughan-williams9266 Yes and with friends in Gippsland, VIC.
Have a good day
Cheers mate, you too!
Location?
Carlton River, near Hobart
Cool little movie
Thanks mate 😁
Looks like paradise. Nice little runners, really enjoyed your clip 👍
Cheers mate, yeah it's a nice, easy wave with such long rides. When the swell is the right size, they usually all hold perfectly.
Haha we’re similar age it would be bloody freezing in the water down there wouldn’t it
Not in summer, we do get warm water, especially in the shallow bays. The ocean is still 16-17, but the bays can be 20+. Winter is 10 degrees though.... 🥶
So awesome mate great video
Cheers ol' kid! 😁
Great video. Stunning views. Can high tide prevent return via the cave? Is there any other way back?
If you walk out, it is safe from the tides as it's only a metre or so between low and high tide. If the waves are big enough to be filling the cave, you wouldn't be surfing there. there is a spot you can climb up the rocks, but that can be painful 😅Check out my other vids to see a big day there.
Amazing
😮 you can walk through the cave? I’m surprised, probably coz when I went the tide was high and waves were crashing in so I assumed that was its natural state
In winter it's chewed out, or when there's big swell. Just fills up with sand in summer.
Super morning to get out into the waves Moving to the south beaches next year and can’t wait to join you for a sunrise session 🤙
@@nedfairlie1520 Yiew! Send me a message when you get sorted. 😁
Awesome sunrise!
I live in Everett Washington United States there are no waves
Snowboarding??? That's fun too 😁
Never heard of a shark attack in tasmania
Actually, we have had a few. We have Great Whites here...
@benvaughan-williams9266 I'm from south Australia 🇦🇺 it's surprising how big great white sharks are even the smallest ones
@@haydenmossop5758 Yeah, they are absolute tanks. We have a few sightings here, was one just a few days ago in the North East. I haven't ever seen one, but they are around the seal colonies. Not as many as SA though.
@@benvaughan-williams9266 when you see one in the water I was windsurfing ... the definition of "shit yaself" becomes apparent
@@haydenmossop5758 I bet it does. I've seen about an 8ft seven giller while diving at 18m on a Salmon Farm. Knew it wasn't going to eat anyone, but it still stops you for a moment.
Nice waves looks good I’m really into surfing and I’m 13 years old and going to buy my first surfboard.
Nice mate, what sort of board? If you are beginning, get a board with a bit of area and length to start with. Don't go too small.
Nice video 👍
Thanks 👍
No more salmon farms? You must be one of those vegans
No, I don't mind Salmon Farms, just not in sheltered waters. I used to be a diver on these farms, and I know how they affect the bottom under the pens.
No one cares 😉 enough
This was about the biggest I've ever seen it. They are breaking in 20m of water out there.
The reflection on the clouds make it look like there zig zagging across the sky 🙂
It was very spectacular. Will be similar this morning. Up at 4 to do it again!
Love it
Thanks, just uploaded a really nice vid of surfing on the East coast. You should check it out, and subscribe if you haven't. Be a few coming as it's summer here.
😮 I’m surprised to see a jellyfish that long in Tassie.
We do get the massive lion's mane jellies, which are much bigger, but I haven't seen this type before.
The full video is still loading....
Correct!
You sound aussie
Correct!
Neil the seal is back!
He's getting bigger too!
@ oh lord
Looks like a flatfish
Correct, it's a flounder. They are good eating, and usually caught with a spear at night.
