    Did you run the Shiva forums back in the early 2000's . Man when I figured I could play pinball alongside and arcade game back then. I was in heaven. Still am with Modern play

    My recent WIP table "Airplane" for PinBuilder is on hold at the moment, because one of the last updates broke some of the logic, so I have to wait until this gets fixed to be able to continue working on it.

      Does seem to happen doesn't it? Sometimes, a update seems half done, but it's never finished, or there is something "missing" which I will point out soon. This is the problem with Pinbuilder in general, when you make things too complicated, things screw up real easily with even the slightest change.

      Nope. Was gonna be Star Destroyer because that was the name of the table in Pinbuilder, but not so sure now as it really doesn't look like firepower at all now really. Still does bare a resembance though as I kept the major design elements in there. I don't want to call it Firepower 3 or Star Destroyer 3 because of that, but maybe a variation of the name, keep the space theme with the space fighters. hmm... Fire Storm?

    very nice to see how you, as an experienced pinball designer, work on a new table design! I play (virtual) pinball for over 30 years, now (my first game was "Pinball Dreams" on the A500), but never designed one myself until now with PinBuilder. I think I will use your technique with the rails to set up nice shots as well - that seems to be very helpful...

      Wow, I remember Pinball Dreams.... Glad you are finding this useful, there's lots of little tricks I use. After I finish what I have with the new layout, I will show how I did it the way I did it, and it's very useful for a lot of things. Of course, it's hockey day for me, so may be a while. I have a upload still to do before that though, should be up tonight sometime.

    You actually can move multiple objects in PinBuilder by adding them to a group (top left field "group name") but at the moment this is somewhat cumbersome (you have to enter the group name manually every time for every object instead of selecting it from a list or so) and you can only assign one group to an object.

      Thanks. I knew there had to be some way, but boy, that does sound cumbersome, if not slightly unuseable. If a object is attached to a group, can you still move that object by it's self? I will stick with FP anyway, I recorded episode 3 and 2 will be up soon. Am in the editor right now, and cooking up... something, so ep4 could be really spectacular if I can get it right...

    nice video :) You mentioned that it is only possible to connect one logic controller to an element, like a sensor - which is correct - but you can connect it to a logic controller, set it up as "Switch On/off" and connect this one to as many other logic controllers as you like (with "Shift" + Select). They all will be fired at the same time :)

      Your right. Forgot to mention that, but then it's like coding. I'm returning after 6 months, and the dev hasn't been very good at updating all the new key codes in the program. At the very least, update the manual. I saw her video yesterday, and she mentioned 2 keys I never knew existed.

      Not sure yet. I'm kind of wondering if PinBuilder is worth the time and effort it takes. I may decide to do some videos, but end up just getting fustrated with the rather limited tools and quiting. This program is just not that good, and really needs a rethink with certain things.

    You came back and it was day time so you had more output for your buildings from solar panels and batteries, when you have power issues its night timr and only batteries,, you dont have enouh output for all your buildings you need more big batteries with higher output, the game isnt the issue you are not understsnding how things work

    can you do another review now on pinbuilder with jungle girl? do you think they are getting close to what you need?

      No. I'm still having problems with even getting it to work with file locations, and there are still too many limitations with building a playfield. The oversized apron for one, and the lack of being able to shape the walls because you can't add control points. The big thing is the lack of optimization of the program itself, it's just too slow, even at 1080p with all settings at their lowest. With a 2070 super, to boot. It's the only program I have that is unplayable, and I have triple a games like Dyson Sphere and city skylines that have 1000's of moving objects in 4 k with higher settings that are still getting double the frame rates. Very disappointing for a commercial program, so I would say just use the fp version I released.

    Ummm… the drones need a charger or the move at turtle speed when the charge runs out…. Interesting though, your approach to starting out. Not using the ore detector when you have so much power available

      Well, I'm a old guy so I forgot about the charger. :) I did add one later, actually added 4. Early game, and I play the long game, so I figured in sandbox to take it nice and slow, that I would use the ore detector only if I had problems finding it with my drones. At one point, I did do several scans to try and find things, but that was off camera. Ran out of energy of course...

    You have EXTRACTORS, you dont need to manually drill with drones if you use extractors

      Thanks. It was a brain cramp, and there was a lack of knowledge at the time. If you see the series on the sandbox mode, you will see it was the proper way. In the last episode for that, I was building a super factory, but the game was a time released demo so I never got to the next episode.

      Actually, I moved my resources right next to my buildings with the problem, and it still happened. There's a large list of bugs in the forums, and this was noted as well. Once more fixes are in place, I will try it in sandbox mode, but even then, the game should be able to handle a standard grid layout. Other resources, like the good food, are over on the other side of the map, and are distributed fine, so computers, which are a lot closer, should as well. But it doesn't...

      They are actually bugged at the moment on my game. As you will see shortly, my distribution problems is also a known bug, so I have to wait till the dev actually fixes it so I can continue on with the game. In the meanwhile, I will do videos on another game, as I can not procede with Infraspace till those bugs are fixed. The next couple videos I have yet to upload (busy) but you will see what the problem is pretty quickly now you know about the bugs

    Glad you enjoyed the update! I'll have to look more into that save thing, its still unresolved. Very odd. It works on my machine no problem which makes testing difficult to say the least. I love getting more feedback and ideas from people so expect more stuff and improvements in the future for sure. I've also been working on that guide/documentation. It's technically live on the steam community page but it isn't done yet.

      Pinbuilder and several other steam games had to move theirs. It's strange, I seem to remember that it is very erratic maybe I will dip in the steam folder and see if it's a permission problem but it couldn't be that easy???. The thing is I can save it once, (sometimes) but not overwrite the file with a new save.

    Thanks for checking out the game again. Lots of good suggestions, believe it or not, I appreciate people giving feedback and critiquing my table designs. I saw you did a 2 hour live stream, I never checked it out. The amount of table is a bit daunting but its on my to do list. That announcer preview button is a fairly new addition, it was another one of your suggestions.

    You mention wanting a rotate function in the editor popup. Care to explain that a little more so I can better understand what you're looking for. At 11:30, you had the duplicate feature selected not the grab key? Very curious what happened at 14:00, it definitely didn't save. I'll have to take a look. Thanks for all of the feedback! There's some really useful tips and suggestions in this video. M vs A is manual vs automatic plunger. Trust me, I took a lot of notes during this video. Your comments are not falling on deaf ears. I aim to release weekly updates, so stay tuned next weekend.

      Okay quickly... Didn't see that key. whoops. In my defense, not use to having to press a key to do things. In FP/VP, it's a right click and a menu at the cursor. As to rotate. A lot more fine tuning. The mouse wheel seems to lack fine control, it is very hit and miss. I kind of would like a field in the new logic box you just added to rotate controls. 0 to 360 (clockwise)or -0 to -360 counterclockwise. Save I tried again. It did save from one of the sample tables when you called it up, but then stopped working again afterwards. It may be a silly suggestion, but it looked like the save button wasn't working. It overwrite a save file once, even asked me if I wanted to, but then just clicking the save button did nothing afterwards. Hope you understand all of this.

    When you pause, there is a View Controls button that shows off the controls for the editor! Unfortunately the editor controls aren't rebind-able at this point in time. Cheers!

      @@SinomodStudios Will do. There's a live stream I just put up as well. Bit long, but there appears to be a save problem. I lost the game I built, and after closing the stream, I remembered that Steam does have read/write problems if you use the main stream folder. Most apps I have instead use the user/appdata folders instead, so that would be my first recommendation, to have that in place for our tables/custom images/sounds etc. Uploading ep06, which I did before the live stream, which details all the things I found as well.

    You can also switch to wide bodied tables in the new tables screen as well! In regards to delete, there are two different object types so deleting is dependent on the type of menu you have open. For example the mechanic delete will only delete things like bumpers but the board delete will only delete things like boards. I'll look into changing that though as it seems to be confusing for most people! I've taken quite a few notes from this video, thanks again. In the next update or two, many of changes will come based on these videos.

      Great. Yeah. The delete thing is a bit less confusing after you explained it, but kind of did throw me. Single method is the best. Glad I came up with some stuff. I have a history of seeing things that are a bit different than other people, so glad to help.

    The next update will include more tables unlocked by default. However, I'm sad to say, you actually need to play the game's story mode to unlock more tables. You've been playing in the classic arcade which won't unlock more. Story mode is essentially just playing all the tables in order. You can skip the cutscenes in the story if you don't enjoy them, so don't worry about that aspect too much. You cannot modify the pre-existing tables in the game. They're created in entirely different format and doing so would be a technical headache. Maybe one day, but it isn't a high priority atm. The How to Play section has a breakdown of the various game modes like Survival. If you have any features/suggestions for the level editor or otherwise you want to see or changed, feel free to let me know. Feedback is always welcome.

    More customization and personalization on the way! One of the flipper presets is completely empty so you can do your own setup from scratch. The newest update will give you more control over flipper angles & strength as well as plunger strengths for the custom tables. Thanks again for checking out the game, your feedback is greatly appreciated. What sorts of things would you like to see in the documentation? Its on my bucket list. You also nailed it right on the head in terms of DLC. I use it to support the game and the development. The goal is to maintain a balance of both free & paid content. The game was initially designed/released to cater towards a more casual audience who just want to pick up and play. I am now expanding the game and adding things such as this table creator which were never part of the original goal/design. It is a big project but one that I am very excited to take on.

      Documentation... hmm I really hated that part With me I did several sections (I used HelpnDoc BTW) but I has a Introduction guide, about fpxengine, about me, and a brief section to getting started and playing a game. My second section was a beginners guide, I did that as a hand hold as it introduced the very basic coding aspect to people who have never coded before, but also used it as a way to explain the feature set of the engine, like extra balls, bonus count etc. The third section was system features listings and how to use them. Listing of all the keys etc, as well as a page for each major scoring feature, but you can add your theme's, sounds, special effects etc. I also had a section on my main selling point, the vault, which were preset sections and code, very much like how you did yours, but we don't have the ability to directly modify Future Pinball, so this was a wo[rk around. The rest were coding, music, display and lighting effects, and then code stuff as sections. I generally had a page per topic, that way I could expand as I go along, and also find things easier.

    Thanks for the honest feedback and for checking out the game! I have taken some notes and will be implementing some changes with upcoming patches! The announcer preview is a great idea and I will look into making more tables available by default. The first 2-3 tables are fairly basic and that was by design, I wanted them to be a bit simpler to ease players into the game but its still valid feedback. That bug at 11:00 is a Unity thing, its been a massive pain in the butt and something I am aware of. It only occurs when using the shift keys, if you rebind the flippers to anything else, it doesn't occur. There is a no flipper option and then you can make your own pre-made from there. Things might not be the most clear, the table creator is still very much a WIP, which is why it isn't advertised on the store page!       I really enjoyed my look. I did a second video as well, be up soon, but have also looked at your new videos on updates, some already in there I mentioned. Unity is a pain in the ass, be sure the next video I do mentions the control bug with unity. I did mention this was out about a month and a half, and things were being added, anyone who knows Pinball knows how tough it is to do this. I'm really impressed with your passon and commitment, and pretty sure once people do know about it, they would be the same.

    Oh Paul! You have our condolences on the time and effort you spent to make this look so amazing! Now you know why our plastics and such have been so basic and pointy! We are excited to get back to working on the plastics soon and we intend to make life much easier when editing them. So hang in there! Love what you are doing with the program so far!

      You more than likely just saw that and thought just how nuts I am, but there was another reason. I wanted to see how the physics handled it as well with so many objects, and how the ball tracked and handled it. Pleased to say pretty good.

    Hi Paul. Amazing work!!! So glad you are enjoying the game. On the missing sounds and graphics stuff, that is a tricky bug we've been working on but it is only a temporary one and if you tab back out to Play Mode or you reload the table from the menu then it should load everything up. One theory we have is that if your AppData folder is on a NAS there could be data loading lag occurring due to slight latency. We're working on it.

      Hey guys. It doesn't reload with me. To be helpful, I actually have a different folder for all my spare graphics and psd files, it's in app data but not the saved folder. Experience tells me from FP about stuff like that. :)

    I'm only following things based upon the Videos I've been watching, but perhaps the reason triggerOutlanes controller isn't working is that it is set to logic only and it doesn't light the special lights but instead will do something if both special lights are lit? This is similar to "topLanesComplete" controller looks at all lights lit to determine if it will score the 5000 points, right? Perhaps there is a different mode for triggerOutlanes controller to actually cause the special lights to light?

      I have to look at it. I can't remember if I mentioned it, but this was taken right from the Alien Harvest game, and that doesn't work either (none of them do yet). There are things, for example, you can't actually have scoring based on light state, and lights are a little shaky. I really missed a couple things there, like the lane change is in place.
