I'm gonna warn you now buddy, ALOT of scene and emo music is about drugs, alcohol, depression, suicide, snex, etc. If you don't like it I don't think you should listen to scene or emo music. This is the norm, ESPECIALLY in scene and scenecore. You'd probably like soft metal/rock alot more if it's just the music and not the lyrics you enjoy. /pos Please don't take this as me being mean, I just wanna warn you this is what makes up alot of scene/emo/scenecore stuff💔

scene music is a complicated subject. in order for something to be considered authentically scene, it usually has to consist of synths, autotune, hardcore elements, and has to be made by scene kids/people who were once scene kids. MCR has little to no scene music elements and is more associated with alternative rock and third wave emo. however, i do know that many scene kids back in the day listened to and were fans of mcr. id say mcr is associated with the scene, but not exactly “scene music”.

​@@skibidibiden69 (yappagedon incoming) though i do 100% agree its a really important part of it , some people cant afford to dress scene or are too self conscious to go out dressed how they truly enjoy (even though part of scene/emo culture is to go against the "norm" and not care what others think) but thats mainly for those circumstances, i dont rlly have anything to say if u just dont dress scene for no reason (like someones fully fully able but just they dont) if its that idk thats kinda grey water for me, sorry btw maybe i should have specified a little more :3
