Thanks for your review ! I have the Blues Stage combo and saw that you allready test it. About the power, do you think that the Laney 2x12 is powerfull than the Roland ?
Oh yes. They’ve never done 2x12 definitely helps it push more air.
@ thanks ! Have you planed to test the new Hiwatt Super Leeds 150w ? It’s a solid state one too
I definitely plan on reviewing the Leeds 25r. The 150 is a bit too much for my needs.
$230 mosquito
Many thanks….A million Fuzz pedals out there but this one is perfect for me…Sort of hybrid distortion/Fuzz ….Love it 👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks for watching!
beautiful sounding amp
Honestly I think you can push it into heavy metal . Not like extra heavy genres like Death Metal or something but with this tone variety it is suitable for pretty much any genre
Hi how is the reverb on this amp, thanks.
@@accentontheoff it’s not bad! You have the choice of hall or plate reverb. I prefer spring so I used a pedal.
@ Ah you used a pedal. Tell me (if I am not being a bother) does it work to run a multifx pedal into the front of this amp. Will it sound good. Or do I have to use the effects loop.
No worries! I used it right in front of the amp. Thought it sounded great.
@@blazeofglory1982 Super, thanks!
You have to give the number for each preset. Ahhhhhhh
Great sound :-)
Thanks!
Excellent review...thanks!
Thanks for watching!
iwrecked my hh tele blacktop pickups coz i thought i could remove the covers...epic fail...so im gettin pearly gates installed..the alnico5 overwind was a hbk, but im kickin myself coz sounded good..these pearly gates are alnico2 ,a bit overwind, but appear to me after all the videos to be much like a brighter dimarzio evo2...but actually ive got guitars with invaders,evo2, bareknuckle painkillers,trembucker...all seymore duncans are most excellent ...horses for courses though, i want my blacktop for jammin on buddy guy cds ,zz,acdc jessie j, janet, some old ray charles stuff,im runnin a marshall origin 20 thru a zoom g3 gold drive mostly so for me its about chasin my own shapes with the beats of top flite rythm sections i dont get to be with..anyhow enuf of me yammerin ...thanks for th demo❤
Yeah man, I’ve had an ashburn for about a year now and I LOVE it. Absolutely my favorite Strat. I just grabbed an Aj on reverb and can’t wait for it to show up. Cheers
Nice! An AJ is next for me for sure.
Great review…I have a Charcoal one coming tomorrow. I also have 3 Silver Skies and on is just like the on on your wall.
Love the silver sky! SE’s are killing it at the moment.
They sound good. Great playing. Thinking of getting a set. Sounds like a good PAF tone without a huge pricetag some p-up makers are charging. Good review.
Thanks so much!
Thanks man!
In my opinion it sounds better than a tube amp
Great playing! Love the knob change out from the black ones. Could you share what they are and were they direct fit? Thanks.
Thanks! They were just two chrome knobs I found on Amazon. They were a direct fit.
Such saturated and quality sound! What gear :) ? And off course your playing style is fun and bluesie ❤
Using an AIO Strat into a Quilter aviator cub with a JHS Screamer.
Turn the pedal volume down. 🤷🏼♂️
I really like this amp, i play a bunch of styles and this seems just what i need, but i also play a lot of metal so i'm wondering if i will be able to get a good metal sound with this using pedals, what do you think?
I don’t think so. I don’t play metal myself, but this amp feels like it was made for clean and classic rock tones. I can get some good GNR tones out of it but that’s as heavy as it gets.
Cuál es ese sonido peculiar de la amp.??
I bought one used but didn't look like it was used at all came with the Y cable. I have played tube amps my whole life and this guitar is 99.8% the sound of a tube amp but you can carry it because it's much lighter. I got one and never looked back. I never knew a solid state could sound like this. If you want a great sound buy a pedal eq. You can dial it in so sweet
Does it come with foot switch
You can purchase one , but it does t come with it.
How does it handle fuzz and overdrive? Is this good for stoner rock and shoegaze? I typically use tube amps but im looking for a reliable gigging amp that i wouldnt mind spilling beer or whatever weird stuff happens during a gig.
It handles my fuzz face and tube screamer great! I actually really Enjoy the onboard boost and gain channel as well.
This is a good review of the PRS NF3. That is some good playing and tone as well. I played one of these yesterday and playability and sound was excellent. I like the neck allot. Have same neck on two of my other PRS guitars. Enjoy! Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching!
I love the tone, but my question is… Is it loud at 60w? Like Hot rod deluxe ball-park loud? That’s my ballpark for knowing I could keep up with a drummer and bass player at gig volumes. Can anyone shed any light? Thanks!
It’s very loud. Had no problem playing over bass and drums. The 2x12 helps push a lot of air. The amp has a surprising amount of headroom. I was impressed by how rich and full the tone was at 60 watt mode. At 60 watts I would rarely go above 5 maybe 6.
@ awesome! This is reassuring as I’m looking to get this amp eventually. I have a box AC30 head and cab and play with the cab on its side fo years so it’s the same configuration as the foundry, it’s lightweight and familiarity in the speakers is what’s lead me to wanting it! Thanks for the prompt response!
I have this and didn’t really dig at first. Then I used an A/B switch to play around with the EQ & ISF to match it to my Blues Jr. & VT22. That let me get the tones I like. Ever since then this amp is incredible. The feature I like the most is the 50-5w button. I’m not all that crazy about the sound of the OD channel but I use pedals anyway for my dirt. I’ve wondered what a speaker upgrade would do to improve the tone. I do also like that this puppy weighs less than 20 lbs.
Is the onboard reverb any good.
I gig all the time with this amp. Originally bought it as a practice amp, and used a Fender 65 RI Twin Reverb for gigging. One day I thought I wonder how it would work at a gig......I haven't gone back to the Twin Reverb since (about 4 years). I use in ear monitors and mic up the Orange Crush and it works and sounds fantastic. I ONLY use the clean channel and my pedal board with an overdrive and a distortion (plus the usual delay, chorus, compressor and tuner) and a Strat and Les Paul. We play about 50 cover songs at a gig and it does the job perfectly. Love my Twin Reverb but the little Orange is SO much more convenient. Couple of things to consider...1) All the nuances of tube vs solid state, hand wired circuits, or vintage this and that go straight out the window when you're on a bar stage blasting it out next to a live drum kit and a bass player 2) it's PLENTY loud and it fills up any indoor venue when you mic it thru the PA and 3) the audience doesn't care about your guitar amp - just so long as it makes sounds like what they're expecting to hear.
Absolutely! Thanks for sharing!
I have this amp..for me the best solid state amp since the 70's
I’ve got a 35RT I bought used but not much , he bought a bigger one for gigging & had used maybe a month , I use in my studio & like it
Awesome video can’t wait to try this ! Any chance you could link me the Y-split cable you’re using ? Is it TS or TRS ? Mono ?
9 Inch Long 1/4 Inch Mono TS female cable off amazon.
Great review of the amp and some good tones.I've been looking for another amp for home use. Can you please tell me the width , height and depth of this amp? Thanks.
20” x 19” x 10.5” (approximately) and weighs about 35lbs.
@@blazeofglory1982 Thank you.
Awesome review I’m heavily leaning towards getting one. I play HSS style guitar now and need an upgrade so I think I’ll love it.
Do you like it better than the quilter aviator cub?
I do. It’s a 2x12 so it has a bigger fuller sound. It also has a switch to knock down the wattage to 1 watt which is great for the apartment. Also the onboard effects are great.
This is the only vid I have found where someone is actually playing country using the twang master pickups. Thank you!
You’re welcome! It’s a great pickup.
How much does it weigh ?
This one’s pretty light. Just over 7 lbs.
Sound very good with those pick ups, where did you find the pickguard?
Thanks! I actually got it on reverb.
@@blazeofglory1982 really? Was it custom made? And ive never seen a shell pickguard for a wi64
Not custom, they’re on reverb right now.
@@blazeofglory1982 really? i cant find them, only white pickguards from two chinese sellers, i mean the tortoise shell pickguard

I will take delivery of the 1x12 version of that amp tomorrow! While it's probably loud enough to gig with at all but the largest venues it's mainly going to be used at home. The 1w output mode is useful for that. I had thought of getting the Laney Super Cub 12 valve amp instead but it's more expensive and probably doesn't offer as much flexibility - might be better sound though. My main amp is a 1963 Selmer Zodiac tube combo but that's not home-friendly to play at volumes it produces its best tones.
Congrats! Let me know what you think of it. I’m really digging the built in chorus.
@@blazeofglory1982 Well what I ordered (and paid for) was the 1x12 Super60-112, what was delivered is the 2x12 Super60-212. Not sure what to do about that, clearly a better deal but the cabinate is bigger than expected.
@chrislx2006 oh dang. Yeah it’s a better deal, but if it’s not what you wanted you may not be into it.
@@blazeofglory1982 I have played with it for a week or so and like the sounds so decided to keep it :) With it being a vertical twin it doesn't take up any more floor area in my 'studio' (lol, smallest room in the house!) than the 1x12 does, and being taller the controls are better placed. It is way more powerful than I actually need.. but then 1x12 is also surprisingly loud if you want it to be. At just £319 I paid here in the UK for mine (it was 'B' stock, in this case just the box had been opened everything still new) I'm not going to find a better amp for the money. Thanks again for your demo I'm sure many found it useful!
@chrislx2006 thanks again for watching! Hope you enjoy the amp as much as I do.
Laney seem to have produced a solid state amp here that produces a very tube like sound without going down the digital route.. Its great that they focused on the sound quality and simplicity as opposed to the likes of the usual modelling amp that provide a quantity of sounds but with a compromise in sound quality..
I totally agree!
in term of voicing, which do you prefer? the orange crush or this?
It feels a bit unfair to compare the two because the orange was a 20 watt 1x10 and this is a 60W 2x12. I prefer this because the voicing feels more vintage and I feel it has more versatility. Also after trying many orange amps I’ve determined that while they sound great, they just aren’t my thing.
@@blazeofglory1982Understood, will the laney nail the 60s-70s single coil rock tone? would love to hear you plug that sweet PRS strat of yours through it
@MrAkmalalif it definitely does. Just got a Reverend Eastsider T and it sounds really good through it. Video coming soon.
@@blazeofglory1982 lovely, can't wait, you have a good day man
Like many people my first foray into PRS was the SS. Now I have an NF3 and a swamp ash special and very much enjoy them.
I just got my NF3 a week ago. I like it a lot! Video coming soon.
I love the 2x12 vertical orientation. Don’t see that in a combo much.
Totally! Really helps push some air.
i know its hard to tell on you tube.. but it sounds digital to me.. I dont know.. this might be a digital amp.. I havent even heard of them.. just stumbled upon this.. Nice vid
Thanks! It’s analog solid state.
Thanks for the demo. I've been looking at these for a while and I'm impressed. 👍
Thanks for watching!
Great video mate. I have the Boss ds1. Would this be doubling up or are they different sounding pedals? Cheers in advance
Thanks! You know…I’ve never played a DS1 😬
@blazeofglory1982 no dramas mate. Appreciate the response 👍
Great tone ❤
Thanks!
i just got the 20rt after only using a Roland and i am So into it
Is this the bolt on version?
@@doonilevitin No actually, it’s a full on neck through.
@@blazeofglory1982 thanks 🙏 I have an opportunity to buy a made in Korea version that is a bolt on. I have every major electric guitar (Strats, tele, etc( but don’t have this one. Is it recommended?
@doonilevitin part of what makes this guitar sound and feel so great is the neck through design. Personally I wouldn’t go with a bolt on version.
@@blazeofglory1982 thank, sounds reasonable :)
