This is an antique German music box with a 9" cylinder which plays 8 airs (tunes). The music box, serial # 28998, was made in Germany and distributed by the agent Holzwessig circa 1888. The musical mechanism features a 9" musical cylinder, a 66 note comb, a hand crank, a stop/ play lever, as well as a change/ repeat lever. The mechanical components of this piece have been professionally serviced and restored by the seller, Music Box Repair Center Unlimited. The restoration was a major overhaul which included new dampers, lubricating the main spring, servicing the governor, cleaning and polishing the musical cylinder, as well as a number of other services. The cabinet is in excellent condition for the age of this piece, and the top of the lid features a beautiful inlay (see photos). The locking mechanism of the cabinet is not working, but and old fashioned key is included for appearance purposes which does fit the lock. The older discs are printed wrong. You start them mid song in the video which can lead to messed up star wheels
Start with blank spot over come and don’t pay attention to the printed title
The discs only align on the player one way, so you can only start the song from that point
Take out one guide pin. It’s what I do for mine. Works well

I saw something like this in my dream. Something vague, there's similar but bigger type automotive piano, very old. And I discovered it, and turn it on. It plays beautiful music. Then I keep it in room. Go to sleep. I hear music again. I go to basement where I kept it, friends also with me. Piano is bigger now and playing music by itself. I woke up 😂
That music box movement sounds a little off.
I thought it also sounded a tiny bit off key as if the comb wasn’t positioned correctly
