Dear I know it's hard and painful to have a baby with down syndrome but what you need to know is that a child with down syndrome is like others children . First acceptance is very important. Secondary prepare you as a couple to have a baby with down syndrome and search information s about down syndrome to have skills . It's good because you will be abled to fight with something you know. It's a fight but don't give up because everything will be fine and you will enjoy your kid. I am a mother with a child with down syndrome. She is 9 yrs now. She's fine and I enjoy with her. Child with down syndrome must grow with care, love dignity and security.

I first met all the wonderful, caring and supportive staff at the DSAGC back in 1993 when I was pregnant with my fourth child. I immediately joined the volunteer staff, eagerly typing up monthly newsletters and --- the New Parent Booklet! Now, 23 years later, they have this wonderful --- New Parent Video! Wow! Great job! When my husband's employer moved to NJ, he took a new job in Indiana in 1999, and I left a small piece of my heart at the DSAGC! We will forever be thankful for the Center and Staff who instilled such hope, guidance and support. They helped me BEFORE my daughter was even born! Take advantage of all they have to offer, you don't know how lucky you are to have such a wonderful resource center! They offer so many opportunities, from networking with other families, navigating the educational system, planning leisure events, offering training and conference opportunities, social groups for various age ranges, a library and more. All these years later, I keep my eye on things that are happening there. Several of my best friends still live there and a couple of years ago, our daughters (with Down syndrome) attended 'The Independent Living Retreat' together. I ran into a familiar face - from when I first started volunteering there back in 1993! Hi Lisa! So here we are, 23 years later and I'd like to post an update. Sarah graduated from high school in May and moved out this summer. She lives in an apartment with her best friend! She is loving it! She arranges her own transportation to her various jobs and volunteer positions (we're lucky to have a door to door public transit system). She leads a full and very active social life with friends and family. We are so proud of her and all that she has accomplished! So have high expectations right from the beginning, making small adjustments along the way, but only when needed. Visit the DSAGC often and take advantage of all they have to offer! Enjoy that precious baby --- and thanks for making that video!

Dear lovey family. I have also a daughter with down syndrome ,She is 9yrs Old. What we need to knows is that,: children with down syndrome must grow with love, care, dignity and security. . Don't spend your time by thinking about his disability but think and give importance about his ability. His ability is more powerful than his disability. Don't give up. I love your family. Courage.
