I originally set this channel up to let family and friends know about how my daily health when I was going through the journey of waiting for a liver transplant and then to report on my recovery after the transplant.

The original home of the Stone of Destiny. Scone Palace, Perthshire.
Scone Palace, Perthshire
This is where the Stone of Destiny was originally from and about 42 Kings and Queens of Scotland have been crowned here.
The Stone was stolen by Edward I of England during the wars of independence in the 1100's after he was asked to decide and appoint who he thought was a rightful heir to the throne of Scotland. The stone was held in Westminster Palace (which became the home of the UK MPs'). Scottish students managed to break into Westminster in the 1950's and returned the Stone to Scotland where it is now displayed in Perth Museum.
King Charles III was crowned on the Stone in Westminster Abbey during his Coronation to become King. The Stone was then returned back to Perth Museum for safe keeping
This is a beautiful place and being so close the Peacocks makes for a great day out at one of Scotland's most historic sites

Doune Castle was a very grand and impenetrable fortification in its day. More recently it has been the filming location of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Outlander and others. Disabled access is very limited with lots of staircases to climb to see the see whole inside of the building. I wasn't able to see some parts as I use a walking stick and the spiral staircases were a no no for me.

A wee boat trip to Loch Leven Castle where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned for more than a year before managing to escape with the help of her jailer. The castle is in the middle of Loch Leven, Kinross and you have to get a boat from the mainland to the island. We have stayed here a few times in the past and it is listed as a 4* hotel but you will see from the video it is currently more like a 1* or 2* hotel. It is going through a refurbishment but the state of the room we got was shocking. The food was very good though but pricey

Aberdour Castle, Fife, Scotland This castle dates back to the 1100's with modifications continuing late into the 1600's. This makes the original part of the castle almost 1000 years. There is a lot to see and do for all the family and the on-site staff are fantastic Well worth a visit! #history #historicscotland
