I'm a photographer based in Gainesville, FL. I like shooting photos and sharing them with others!
Film Photography in the Countryside
I went out into the countryside around Gainesville, FL and brought along my film camera. I visited a couple state parks (San Felasco Hammock and Gilchrist Blue Springs) as well as a bunch of small towns (Alachua, High Springs, Trenton, and Newberry). Explore with me as I take photos!

Got my first rolls of film back from The Darkroom
มุมมอง 83 หลายเดือนก่อน
Was really nervous about screwing up the development up of these photos so I sent them to The Darkroom and they DELIVERED! These photos are from my recent trip to California. All photos shot on a Canon Rebel 2000 on Kodak Portra 400. This is not an ad for them I was just so happy how they turned out I had to share.

I was invited to take pictures at this show in Jacksonville, FL at Underbelly on March 16, 2024. Gouge Away, Zeta, Drag Pattern, and Suntouch House all played. All photos taken with a Canon RP with either a 85mm 1.8 or 24mm 2.8 lens.
Nothing sadder than a caboose you can't climb on... Great as always, Jeremy!
It was soul crushing!
There's a great photo of me doing a big cannonball of the diving platform that used to be at Gilchrist Blue Springs. I understand why they got rid of it but it so fuuuuuuuuuuuun
I wish that had still been there. That spring was kind of a let down
There’s a lot of bridges just like that in the area, including in Live Oak, FL
Oh absolutely! I love finding them.
@@ISObsessions I can’t remember where, around the Ft. White, FL area, there was a town that is now a ghost town
@@ISObsessions Actually, it’s somewhere around the area of Fort White, or High Springs
GREAT VIDEO!
Thank you so much for watching
@@ISObsessions You are very welcome, my son and I have a magnet fishing channel. And we are also in florida and always looking for new places to pull up some history
@Treasurecoastmagnetfishingandm I’ve done some magnet fishing! I bet this main bridge would be a FANTASTIC place to do it
@@ISObsessions it looks like it would be... and the rr bridge!
One of my favourite parks, doubt whether I will ever get over from UK again
I’m sure you can make it happen again one day!
doing orange justice justice!
I tried!
“My wiiiife” Good stuff as always, Jeremy!
Thank you for making this the first comment!
@@ISObsessions any time 😂
I know about "The Darkroom". They do good work. I learned how to develop film, then it got too expensive for me.
It is definitely not a cheap hobby. But the darkroom is relatively affordable which is nice
Thumbnail looks like the Florida Trail old bridge on the Suwannee.
I think it might be! Right next door to Suwannee river state park?
@@ISObsessions Yup, it's the Suwannee, not the Withlacoochee. Down the trail a bit there is another bridge in the middle of the woods that is grown over and has graffiti all on the underside. Interesting to see in the middle of the woods.
@@danielcluley870 oh that’s my mistake! You’re absolutely right, The withlacoochee is the other side of ellaville not that side.
@@ISObsessions Yup. Great area. If you are into it, I would recommend doing a Suwannee River Trip. They have dedicated River Camps that you can only get to by boat or hiking. The biggest Cypress tree is nearby the Holton Creek River Camp. Great opportunities for photos all along the river with limestone bluffs in spots.
Loved this, Jeremy! This was so good and I love the way you talk about your process and the experiences you had there. Great shots, too! 100/10
Thanks so much! I like giving the lead up to the photos, because taking the photos is only one part. There’s so much more!
this is an awesome concept! stoked to see some more
I appreciate the kind words! I’ve got more coming for sure!
Kevin is not your keeper! Great stuff, Jeremy!
Don’t let him hear you
Great video! Really digging that North Florida vibe.
Thank you! There’s something special about north Florida. The backroads and nature are incredible.
Tell Kevin he can take a break on waking you up thanks
He is very good at his job
Question about working with film: do you combine any digital post processing get get a desired result? Or is it more of a purist goal: improve your technique as much as possible with emulsion processing only?
its mostly trying to improve my on-camera/film technique. currently the only thing i am doing to the photos digitally is making sure they are straight.
Very nice video Jeremy! I like how you point out what you think makes the different photos especially good!
thank you so much!
Sick stuffff broski. Enjoyed the video!
Thanks so much!
Dope video! Thank you for sharing it with the world!
Thank you so much. I’m gonna have more soon, including some cinestill shots 👀
this was my partner and I’s first date spot haha photos turned out fantastic
It’s such a cool place, great first date material
Great job, Jeremy!
Thanks so much!!
Hell yeah! I always think I should go out there and then I see the stairs and remember why I haven’t lol
the stairs are quite formidable but you can always just take your time! it's very worth it.
