thank you.you can use the 1 series box or use the m57 5 or 6 speed but you would need to modify the gearbox mount on chassis unless u got an m57 from an e90 type car then it would all drop in and should all fit up no problem as a 1 series is basically an e90 floor pan ect

@@xyoungyx got the EWS, DME and key form the swap car. Just messured that I got only 3,9V on the injector wires when the ignition on. That Voltage comes out on the pins connected to the ECU (shouldn't it be the ground?). When my EWS wasn't working I couldn't even crank the engine. Makes me crazy. :D

@@ResetandKulis re check work mate.yes ecu trigger is earth but injector should have 12v when key is on

no mate we usually just swap the cluster for a 6 cylinder one to save the hassle of coding ect

@@MasterJunga yes thats the usual scenario mate.get clocks from 6 cylinder car.i dont mind 4 cylinder clocks as long as the engine has hard cut if its 2.5 😝 as they have bad softcuts factory

i wont try start without pedal.and have never tried so cant comment on that on the x5 loom it’s only the ecu pin 26 that needs power before hitting starter as long as a fuel pump is running fuel it will start the other wires can be done later but not important for 1st start as you can see from my video

ecu part is the same but the non ecu plug beside it is different to e46 but it’s easy to work out.i get asked this alot so gona do e39 engine floor start video with wiring instructions mate

thank you mate.if the engine is euro 4 the oil light is done by can to fix bypass the ecu with the oil pressure sensor to the clocks job done

@@xyoungyx i thought euro 4 was the one with electronic actuator? Mine is vacuum

@@N_iko vacuum should work then as it does in the video this is why i wired up e36 clocks with mine after finishing my mates one that was euro 4 and no oil light i had to wire up the oil light myself outside of the ecu so only the clocks seen it

understand that but if you need to do it the same day and dont have a tool.ur £50-£150 for tool and have to wiat for days.also could be late.damaged or wrong.sooo 😂

engine/box/ps pipes front half of prop.gear linkage.all water hoses.ecu key chip and ews box if its not ews delete ecu you need the 3 to match if the engine come out a 3 series itl fit a 3 series.5 series has different engine arms and ps pipse and water pipes and all the rest mentioned.box is same but prop and linkage ect

dont know of top of my head but can follow wire colour there is only one wire that colour

plug n play on this mate if u have 5 plug 1.8-2.0 the ones after 03 wer 2 plug ecu so no wiring needed

@@xyoungyx yes, the ecu has a ews delete. I put a fuse to jump the wires in the ews box. Havent done anything to the key how ever.

u need to use the ac wire from e36 and extend it to the ac compresor so it can be utilised.not something ive done.but it will work.i dont care about ac lol.get the x20 digram and its probably pin 4 on that u are gona extend to the e46 ac pump-on e46 car this stays on chassis as it comes from driver side and not ecu wiring when u push ac on e36 it will activate ac relay and send power to pin 4 iirc and engage the ac clutch

Pin 5 too as it's an earth. 😂 Do have another question. I have a full e46 here so all parts are available. Is there a reason why you use the tds rad and expansion tank like the e46 just doesn't fit?

can bus so no.its not done via a single vire like e36.also glow is instant on these so by the time u turn key and let pump run for a second it’s ready to go

what is it going in? obd only needs a constant 12v 2 constant earths and the obd wire from ecu and u can read codes and map ecu ect

if you need a pin out for obd port just google e46 obd port pin out. 16 is 12v constant 4&5 is earth and pin 7 is obd wire that connects to ecu ond wire

my 1st m57 swap i wired it up with just power/earth-antenna and ews wire to ecu no obd wire to ews box and ran it for a year no problems.key was tucked away in ecu compartment with ews ect all taped up around ecu now i do ews delete but just thought i would share this for others in other countries and remote places that didn’t have tuners or access to laptops ect

yes but it’s expensive.have someone else do it as its cheaper to get that than buy software to do one thing

its the car side of the engine loom.u need to cut it off old chassis if putting m57 in something else i thought the video was clear enough on this buddy

330d box custom prop and the shell was already diesel so had the correct ratio for a diesel if ur tourer has a 6 speed 330d box and u can’t find a tds diff.a 2.93 2.5/2.8 diff will be fine

46 m52tu or the 36 m52? u need the throttle pedal from a tu or a n old 46 that still has cable throttle the rpm wire will work clocks as it should as if you notice very early 1.8 46 had the e36 engine the rpm is compatible with most even a 1jz rpm is compatible with 36/46/39 ect

It’s a 46 m52 tu 2.8 but thank you was a bit worried about the revs not working but seen many people put 2jzs in and not have a problem etc. cheers mate

@@SkidSeshGarage send it mate they all work you will get temp-battery-oil and rpm no problem on the odd one if it was n46 u wont get battery light to work so just run a digital voltmeter so you can see it charging and run that off a switched live so meter is only live when key is on
