Can you do a detailed video on balancing dancing and class and life in general, advice for those who wanna tryout ,uniforms ,weather etc?
Heyyy I plan on trying out this year! When you get to the second round of tryouts and it comes to learning the group dance and stand routines do they break the routine down so you can understand and do you get a chance to practice it before performing it?
I wouldn’t say they break it down because we’re pressed for time but you’re welcome to ask as many questions as you need to during the learning process. If you are in the first group you don’t really have practice time, you’re pulled in to perform right afterwards. But of course if you’re in a later group you have a little more time to run through and prepare.

I was wondering once you do make the team how much is the dance fee and also are you excused from your classes if you have a performance
A good estimate would be around $600-700 and yes we get excuse letters
I wanna try out for black foxes this year what would you recommend during the tryout ?
1. Technique is a major key, so if there's skills that you know you aren't comfortable with start perfecting them now. You can find our list of basic skills on the audition webpage. In addition to that be prepared to do a calypso, the combined calypso to a second leap, a tilt jump, a leg turn (most likely right side), and at least 3 a la secondes. 2. Study our style. Try to learn some stands and get comfortable with them, especially if you're not coming from a majorette background. If you're in the Houston area, 2 of our former captains host tryout prep classes. You can find it on their instagrams @znaeee @bealyamazing
