@Montaja Mcmullen Hope this does not come across as an attempt to pontificate; however, I feel compelled to reach out. I love the skin I´m in and others who share my skin. But, man, we have a long way to go to get to the promised land. When I see students like you with their head screwed on correctly and with ambitious goals, I get excited. I do not have to remind you how arduous the journey is. Nor how common the battle between the mind and body can be. The body wants to quit, but the mind knows the show cannot stop. There is too much to be done! When I have faced these moments, I needed something to convict me to press on. And I found it. When the mind and body are at war, I simply think of our ancestors and all they endured. From the trips across the ocean in horrific conditions; families separated at slave auctions; women subjected to the physical whims of the master; laboring in the heat of Summer and coming home to a shack with a dirt floor. On and on it goes, but you get the picture. Down through the ages our people have been denied and forced to hurdle this wall or that one. Often, learning to read/write was not an option. And here we are in 2023 still facing obstacles, but lacking the drive/perseverance to overcome them. That is why I root so hard for our students. If the history of our ancestors does not inspire us, I just do not know what will. So, let us use the past as our inspiration! Let´s make our ancestors proud! We owe them to take advantage of opportunities they could not dream of! You must succeed! Failure is not an option! Unwind sometimes, but your presence at every Friday afternoon Activity Hour is not mandatory. Ya´ feel me? So stay in the fray and show the world whatcha´ workin´ with!! Wishing you and our other HBCU students much success. God bless you all! Don´t forget....we owe them!!

During the time of the video, I was a freshman! This is the honors dorm which is open to freshman if you meet the requirements. As far as single rooms it’s very unlikely hope this helps!

Hey love, I actually wasn’t able to find a bed skirt in enough time for move in day so I just bought a white flat bed sheet

The bed was already high when I arrived, but bed risers can be used to make the bed higher also
