1990 HDJ81 owner here….yep, you will enjoy the WKOR sliders! Beefy, very well built, these rock sliders can take some abuse. Enjoy!

So I watched this video to get mounting ideas for my custom Rock sliders on my 96 didn't realize they used crappy u-bolts think I'm just going to weld them onto the frame instead of all that crap.
How has it held up?
I need to swap out the drawer sliders for more heavy duty ones but it still works well!

Was the weight rating of those slides good enough
If we could go back we would probably do two slides on either side or use some with a higher weight rating

You can use index cards instead of newspaper. Slide them in between the tire and the rim, then tape them down flat. Way faster than traditional masking.

It's not a "car" and it's not an "FJ". It's an SUV and it's more appropriately referred to as an "80".
Apologies if we were misleading! We do know that it is an SUV, and sometimes abbreviate the name in different variations.

Nice vid bros, but duuuuudes I cringed watching you tying the roof rack to your bare roof... I hope your roof didn't get dented. Also, from the video, it seemed that your roof does not have any holes from the lame factory toyota roof rack in it. If so, then your truck is special as 90% of all US 80 series came with the factory roof rack and many people pay big money to weld or seal their roof rack holes up. I hope you guys don't abuse that truck and do treat it with respect and take care of it. I'm in the process of painstakingly restoring and fixing the neglect that previous owners did to my 80. I like your upgrades so far, looking forward to the lift and larger tires. And of course seeing more of you rig over on ih8mud. Good video: tidy editing and fun background music. Looking forward for more content!
Haha yeah we made sure the rack would dent, it was covered in foam insulation for shipping, but we definitely weren’t prepared to tie it down to the roof lol. And the roof has no holes, the gutters are the only way to mount a rack
