What made this work is Uncle Phil kept his ego in check. He did not get cocky. He was confident. This is the difference between cocky, the hustler, and the confident, Uncle Phil. Girls get this confused all the time and wonder why the cocky guy leaves them in the gutter.

Uncle Phil is such a badass. He pretended to be amateur to throw the fellas off and once he busted out Lucile that’s when the real game began.

I lost it with Jeffrey when he nonchalantly breaks out the pool sticks and puts it together while chewing on his gum. That look he gave, oh it was over lol

My dad, who was about the same age as Uncle Phil, did the same crap yo me when I was 17, lol. I thought I was the sh/t and had never seen him ever play pool, and he ran me off the table in 2 minutes, lol. I never did beat him at pool lol.

Ok so Phil and Will owed $400 at the beginning of the game yeah? And if they were playong 8 ball the max phil could win would be $800. So how does he end up being paid $900. What am i missing or did the show do their math wrong?

I was thinking, what is the worst thing he could say to make Will and Phil feel bad after they won that money... "Is that your nephew?" "Yes." "Not your son?" "No" "Seeing your suit, your talk, and the way you're going out of your way to make sure he gets out of trouble, I'd say you're a pretty good man." "Compared to one hustling teenagers in a bar, I'd say so." "No doubt, a lesser man like myself? A normal man like me... Yeah, I'd have walked out of his life too." _And then he walks out of the bar._ And we get another moment of Phil consoling Will like the episode where his dad comes back.

After all this time, I remembered its name was Lucille.

Elise neal is still one of the finest women I have seen imo. That woman has always been beautiful. I literally almost had a similar experience to the one on the show. I met a girl and a few days later she took me to her house and I met her mother who was bad asf and flirting hard. The girl later told me she can’t stand her and I better stay away because she stole her last boyfriend from her. 😂 never got the moms though but I definitely would’ve. I was only 19 at the time too

I remember watching this scene during the original airing. Phil's flip from "heh heh" to "break out Lucille" gave me chills. A very memorable scene and life lesson.

Let me see if I have the math right here. $100/ball, and Phil was down $400 after Will's game and his first game with the hustler to sucker him in. Phil left with $900 and the car, meaning that Phil made $1300 on the game. To do that, Phil had to knock in his 7 balls, the 8 ball, and 5 of the hustler's balls in combos of hitting his own shots of knocking balls in. Am I getting that right?
