I used 4 balls of white wool & 1 ball of each colour wool, keep an eye when tying that you don't catch the colours

Thought i would make The Harlequin blanket that i had seen in a group, i was using some left over wool from other blankets, it's a nice pattern but the blanket goes slanted when taken off the frame

I used 1 ball of pink wool & 4 balls of white wool i did 16 rounds of pink first, then i did 5 pom pom base rounds using white & then 16 rounds again using pink, tied all the white first, then tied the pink, then its ready to cut from frame. I used Double Knit wool

My Frame is 92cm by 61.5cm, my nails are 4in long (3in above frame) My nails are 1 & 1/2 inches apart

Tying
Can I tie them individually? As I can’t get use to doing it all together
I’m at the thing stage and I really don’t understand. I just need to know which bits need tying together to understand it.
Are you using two pieces of wool at a time?
I used 5 strands of wool at the same time to make the blanket, then i used 2 strands of wool to tie it
What do you do with your yarn to make it go so smooth without it getting all tangled up?
Some times they do tangle up, when i'm making a blanket inside i just leave them on the floor, when i'm out side i put them in a washing basket
Jackie, how thick is the wood you used for your frame that enabled you to use 4" nails?

Are the nails every inch or one and a half inch apart?
I wish you could share some videos about the material of the wool you are using! I have hard time finding the right yarn cause some of them are thick and some thinner, don’t know which ones are the best fit
I use DK wool (double knit wool)

Hiya can help me my loom as 2 inch nails apart so how many round for thick blanket as done 5 bottom 5 tops 4 balls so thin
Are you are making a pom pom blanket? nails 2in apart you do need to use more wool for 2in pom poms
Can you not do a better angle for beginners that camera view is quite bad
Sorry it was my first video i did, trying to do a video & make the blanket was hard for me, i usually just make photo instructions of my blankets

How do you stop the balls of yarn getting tangled on the floor please
when i'm making a blanket inside i just leave them on the floor, they don't usually get tangled untill near the end of the ball

Hi Jackie I am trying to do the diamond pattern blanket but it isn’t turning out right when I am putting the diagonal on after the base round one corner looks different to yours I have the exact same nails on my loom could you advise please. 0:49

@@mandycreighton8887 Your welcome, just remember you tie on the opposite side of the frame if you are making a pom pom blanket or you will be cutting your tie lines

A row of white on the diagonal opposite of the coloured diagonal direction, added before the colour might help to keep it from pulling all in one direction. And you wouldn’t see it under the colour and top white layer.
It goes slanted because you’ve got only one set of diagonal yarn, adding some white on the other diagonal hidden under the coloured layer should help pull it in all directions evenly ❤
The Harlequin pattern was in a group, i made it as i wanted people to know that the pattern would go slanted, yes to stop it from going slanted you could put white diagonal on , then add the colours on the opposite diagonals but it would change the look of the blanket as you would not have the colours on the base of the blanket just a white base, or you could put the white diagonal on in between the colours but thats a lot of work
