Hello everybody, I am a fossil enthousiast from the Netherlands and enjoy sharing the fossils that I find. I search for Pleistoceen and Triassic fossils from the Netherlands and Occasionally search for fossils outside of the Netherlands, Like Cretaceous and Olligoceen fossils from Amerika.
With this youtube channel I want to share the fossils that I find, show how I prep fossils and interact with people that have the same passion as me. So definitly dont hesitate to comment and ask questions.

7 Days Of Dinosaur fossilhunting In 39 minutes. (USA 2024 part 1)
In this part 1 video I hunted for fossils in the Lance formation, walked for miles and found some awesome fossils!!
That baby trex tooth is the smallest one ive personally seen, maybe even the smallest one in the world.
The next part video I will be hunting for early mammal fossils and found more skulls than I could handle.
Hopefully you guys will enjoy the video and let me know if you want to see more:)
Any fossils and/or artifacts have been legally found on private ground.
Any scientific important fossils will be researched.

Hey there! In this video me and my buddy Tijn (Dutchdinosaur) are in a competition to find Ice age fossils on a beach. Hi !! I'm a Flemish fan ❤ I am so interested in finding fossils (also minerals), but I have no idea where to even start. It would make sense to search around the NL and BE coasts maybe? Since they used to be under water? I'm very new at this. Can you make a video where you give us some tips and tricks: - what places in The Netherlands (and maybe Belgium, France) you go to - how to recognize stones that contain fossils - how you prep and cut them with the dremel
Paleontica has a database of fossil sites where you can search, a very handy tool. And from there on you can find a whole lot of other information on the internet. Well you had most points so you won according to the rules ;-)! I have to admit that I also really like the vertebra, but you both had some nice finds. We spoke briefly last Saturday and it was nice watching your video. Just curious: was there any particular reason you went to search at night?
Yeah, that vertebra is definitly one for in a showcase! I appreciate that you like my video:) we went searching at night because there is quite some competition. Thats because the beach we searched on is pretty well known for its ice age fossils.
@PaleoDutch Makes sense! I imagine it doesn't make the searching any easier, but at least you get the first pick of anything new :-)

Is there a purpose to keeping some of the composite and not fully extracting the vertebrae or is it just personal preference? I find these videos so interesting.
Its just a personal preference, I got some more longer videos on my channel aswel:)
How do you safely clean the fossil from the matrix without somewhat damaging the fossil ?
It is partly, experience, partly knowing where the fossil and matrix begins/ends (it can be different ofc if it is a broken bone) and its partly having good eye sight to see the difference between bone and matrix.
Loved the video! Just wanted to say that the music from 4:54 to about 5:28 is quite loud. Just wanted to point this out for when you make videos moving forward.
Thanks for the feedback, I noticed aswel that the music still need some improvement. Definitely will try to improve that in future videos.
So, is the skull itself "turned to stone" or is it still really REALLY old bone?
It has been turned to stone, or to better call it, it has been mineralized:)

een snelle vraag mag je in winterswijk gewoon zoeken of heb je er vergunningen of toestemming voor nodig? want ik ben zeer geïnteresseerd in fossiele opgravingen
Je komt er alleen in via verenigingen. De ngv organiseert elke september bijvoorbeeld een jeugd zoekdag tot 25 jaar met een info presentatie vooraf.
