I’m glad you mentioned the lack of discrimination laws, especially with the amount of foreign labor they rely on for many industries. Not to generalize, but that’s why when friends into K-pop touted “stop Asian hate” in the states because of the K-pop bands, I was like “work on the problems in your countries first”. In many spots in east Asia there’s no anti discrimination laws and they can bar you from their venues with no pushback, especially blacks, and foreigners online will support that. “It’s their country their rules”. But when those same East Asians come to the states or send their diplomats, they expect no bias and rights for their groups that black ppl and other poc here fought for. Like…I’m supposed to care that what you do in your home is done to you in other peoples home? I guess that’s where I’m coming from.

Korea legit traumatized me, I totally get where you’re coming from. They were VERY obsessed with white people. I saw parents and teachers who would allow teachers to abuse (physical and SA) their children so long as they were white. They would defend the white teacher in order to keep them.
