So i made the cross stich for the base color too?
Yes!
It's so beautiful 😍❤️
what’s the pattern ? love it !
@@PinkberryFritter it is the 6 day star blanket by betty mcknit!
I love this! It was just what I was looking for! Thanks ❤
i don't know eng so much can you tellme how you did surface (double crochet or something) and how conclusion is look so smooth did you do this every piece of crochet its hard
@@also41639 your english is good!! keep working at it :) i think this explains what you're asking: first- use tunisian crochet (the tunisian simple stitch) to make a base second- embroider the design onto the cloth i hope this helps! please let me know if you have anymore questions!
Hi Kat! 💖 Thanks for the tutorial!! I have a question: how do you create the strawberry in your video miniature? Did you cross stitch white over the white to get the same texture in all of your patern? Thank you! 😊
@@Lucia_G hi yes! i did cross stitch white over white to make the background cohesive. best of luck on your project!
@@katsscorner Thank you so much!! ☺️ I'll try some Pokémon and other things in near future (I'll give you credit, I'm learning this technique thanks to you). You're so sweet, thank you again!! 💖💖💖
That's very cute ❤
Can i use this tecnique to make a cardigan as well? When i wash it would it look bad?
to be quite honest, i'm not sure! i don't see why you wouldn't be able to, but it would take the utmost care and dedication <3
Thank you for the update! Question why go down a hook size for the hook? I watched a few videos on the simple stitch (that you recommended in the previous video to do), and one says to go up a hook size to prevent the curling. I wasn’t sure the rationale for going down.
@@raer7907 my rationale for going down in hook size is to make it easier hide the fabric underneath when cross stitching! i find it helps make the cross stitches look tighter/more square as well. yes, it absolutely will curl before cross stitching, but after cross stitching it will lay flat
@@katsscorner gotcha thank you!
Thank you ❤❤❤❤
Do you use stichfit ?
@@mariesilva5649 i do not!
I am so sorry I thought I pressed like but I pressed dislike I am so sorry I left it for a day I guess I am so sorry I have now liked you video
Hey Kat! Would you consider including a link for the tunisian crochet hooks you use in this video as well? There is a lot of traffic on this video, and viewers may be curious to know- especially if they haven't proceeded to watch the full tutorial! 😊
@@thethriftyfawn can do! thank you fawn 🫶🏻
Yay always lovely to see an update from you!
At first I thought "that would take me a LOT more than 6 days 😮" but then I remembered I just finished a square blanket in same/similar stitch about 1/2 - 3/4 that size in 2 days with a lot of breaks 😄 I never have faith in myself 🙈 That looks like a nice one to make too, and I love the colours you chose 😊 my almost 3 year old son has been asking for a doll and pram because most of his friends are girls and they all have prams, so I've bought him one for his birthday and I'm making a few blankets to go with it. Have you got a tutorial?
@@smallerontheoutside1122 i dont! this pattern is by betty mcknit and she has a written and video tutorial❤️ i hope your son likes his pram!
that color combo is gorgeous!!
Oooo, prettyy! Also I have those same headphones XD
hehe twinsiesss
Love the colours and the shape
i love the colors!!!
@@jazmynr.3629 thank you!! i saw this color way and just HAD to make a blanket out of it
Hey Kat- any recommendations for tunisian crochet hooks? Brand, material (wood, plastic, aluminum), in-line or tapered? With or without cords? Do the crochet hooks themselves come in different lengths? I'm gonna need to go online and start looking asap lol
@@thethriftyfawn i bought a set off of amazon! mine are metal tapered hooks with stoppers at the ends and no cords. im actually not sure if they come in different lengths! im pretty sure there is just 1 standard length for them and theyre pretty long (like the one i used in the video) i hope this helps at least a little🫶🏻✨
@@katsscorner It most certainly does! Thank you so much for the reply! 😍
@@katsscorner Would you consider leaving a link for them in the video description and/or pinned comment? Could be helpful for viewers who are not familiar with these hooks 😊
@@thethriftyfawn thats a great idea! ill add that as soon as i can thank you!!
@@katsscorner Perfect, thank you! I'll be back to check it out 😊
Love all the variations of her blanket. I'm working on my own version of one of them. They're so relaxing
Oh my goodness, you DID do a full tutorial!!! I will be watching this ON REPEAT and learning along for the upcoming days and weeks to come... NO JOKE!!!
@@thethriftyfawn i appreciate your support and enthusiasm SO much❤️
This is awesome in every way possible!!! I had heard of tunisian crochet in the past but never thought anything of it or looked into it. Here because I wanted to learn how to put pixel art on top of crochet... your sample is SOOOOOOO CUUUUUUUTE!!! 😍 I wanna try this, so I guess I'm gonna have to look into tunisian crochet, the tools needed and where to get them, and also how to pronounce 'tunisian' as well LOL!!! 🤣 If you would consider doing a small sample and demonstration of the entire process of this technique in a future video, that would be absolutely EPIIIIIIIC! It would be a great one stop watch for those of us who are visual and auditory, and don't want to go searching elsewhere for instructions on how to create the featured project. Your sample was so cute! Fawn 💕
Spectecular give me 14 of that rn!!! Clear explanation and good work 💟💟
I want to make a crochet tapestry with that is 50 by 50. Do you know if they sell hooks long enough for that?
@@L1LL3RS they do! i have a set from amazon and even if its a bit too small, these hooks have stoppers at their end so the yarn is able to scrunch at the end of the hook
Tysm! I love learning new things, so I'm glad your video popped up in my feed! :)
I've been trying for pixel crochet for a while. This is great! Thanks for the tips for making the squares look full (smaller hook, double-thick X stitch)
you should be famous
Famous in progress is what she is 😊
Although I thought it was going to be a crochet stitch (to me it looked like a bobble stitch to make the pixels), it's a great idea I'll try it Thanks for sharing
@@catazanoni1455 bobble stitch isnt a bad idea!! id really like to see that!! thank YOU for watching🫶🏻✨❤️
Well, this is not crochet.
I loved your tutorial, I like cross stitch and crochet, thank you for sharing this technique ❤❤
It looks fun! Imma do it when i learn to crochet
i used to cross stitch a ton, but i can’t see that well now, so i had to stop. this looks like a great alternative though, should be fun. saving it for those long winter evenings for sure. thanks for sharing ❤
I can’t with those people… Why is everyone so upset? I mean clearly you can’t reach the result like this only by crochet alone, but I’m so glad this method exists?? Like it’s genius! Why are people mad? Cross stitching isn’t that hard to learn and it’s so fun, like isn’t it a lovely opportunity to learn something new? I don’t think the title is clickbait either. I mean it is Tunisian crochet, the base is. Well, anyways, big thanks to the creator for showing the creative process & inspiring! Can’t even imagine how frustrating it is to see all these comments, because clearly your intention was to be helpful. ❤
@@user-bo7nc9vc3y you are too kind thank you 🫶🏻
I think media literacy is down these days…
So true, I like the cross stich more than the literal crochet tapestry like it's too difficult for me
IS THAT TEQUILA JOSEPH!!!
I was just watching crocheting videos and i got jumpscared by tequila joseph 🫡
man idk why anyone's hating on this! you were so clear in the video, thumbnail, and title 😭😭. Great video can't wait to see more!! (also p.s. imo if you are using a crochet hook, you are doing crochet likeeeee)
thank you so much <3 i really appreciate your kind words
What does the back look like? Is this a method you'd use on something where the back is visible?
@@shellyshelly71 1- it depends on how much effort you put in! if you weave them in like i demonstrated it will be neat but if you dont weave them it will be messy. 2- i would imagine using this for tapestries or patches in which case the back wouldnt be showing!
Not that mouse pad!! 😂
Yay Late but YAY
Can you stop looking at yourself and look at us? 😭
i fear I've fallen for crochet click bait.. the thumbnail saying CROCHET TUTORIAL: tunisian pixel stitch is very misleading i feel :(
you don't show ANY crochet in this video.. i feel like how to cross stitch ON crochet would've been a more apt title.. going to go cry myself to sleep over this
@@conan4real this has been brought to my attention so i've changed the title of the video but unfortunately cannot change the thumbnail at this point in time. if you're interested i do have a beginning to end process video uploaded after this one, have a great day :)
@@katsscorneru changed the title but it still says “crochet pixel art” which is simply just not what you’re doing lol. it’s basic embroidery cross stitch. how disappointing :(
@@azari_osaka it still looks amazing, not that disappointing
It's misleading so yeah, pretty disappointing @@laura-ni3bk
I need to try this
Thank you !! I have been trying to find simple and clean explanation of Tunisian crochet + crossstitch and this checked the box, finally. I do want to ask, if you have multiple colors, would you recommend floating ?? Or simply using less yarn and tucking it in as you go along?
@@himewillow i used less yarn and tuck it all in, but ive seen others who float! its mostly personal preference
Awesome, that's what I wanted to know, thanks ! I can't wait to try it out in a stardew valley crops tapestry for my office ☺️
@@himewillow that will be such a fun project!
Basically, use the base as Aida cloth and follow your pattern for cross stitching...for me could be a bit bulky...
could NOT get my eyes off the Joseph mousepad 😭
I'm making a bag for my mum as a gift but I've never done tunisian crochet before. I want to do a little tapestry to practice first but I was unsure how to do a nice pixel art. This is perfect. Thank you so much for sharing! :)
