Always loved going to the movies ever since I was a child, now as an old man in my 80's I love learning to create them. Short films about stuff I see around me, totally random, nothing too ambitious. Love the creative process and thanks to You Tube, there is a global audience. For just one person to view and like a film I have created, brings me immense joy.

Christchurch Revisited 2023 1
มุมมอง 173ปีที่แล้ว
We were visiting family in Christchurch when the second large quake hit and this was the first time back since the disaster. It was amazing to see first hand the amazing changes throughout the city as it was rebuilt. It has risen from the ashes, looking more beautiful than ever, a symbol of its resilience, restoration and healing.
Memorial Paddle Out for Warren
มุมมอง 462 ปีที่แล้ว
On Sunday Jan 22nd 2023, surfers paddled out at Mount Maunganui to honour Warren Thompson. He was a gentle soul, world traveller, a good mate, a son, father and granddad. He was well loved and respected among his family and peers. I made this short video tribute to honour him as we said goodbye.

Road To Port Jackson
มุมมอง 1.6K4 ปีที่แล้ว
The Road To Port Jackson is 25kms of a single lane, gravel road that has to be one of the most exciting and exhilarating drives in New Zealand. From Coromandel township to the top of the Coromanel Peninsular, there are stunning coastal views all the way with plenty of spaces to pull over to rest and explore the foreshore. Looking forward to doing all again soon as we can.
Off the Grid at Stony Bay New Zealand
มุมมอง 4644 ปีที่แล้ว
Stony Bay New Zealand is without a doubt one of New Zealand''s most amazing places to camp off the grid. Situated on the east coast of the Coromandel Ranges you are able to become totally immersed in nature. Surrounded by pristine bush on one side and the open ocean on the other, you are able to walk the well kept bush tracks, kayak, fish and swim in the waters of Stony Bay

My Feathered Friends are hungry due to the Covid-19 Lockdown. (Seagulls in slow motion)
มุมมอง 2834 ปีที่แล้ว
My feathered friends are hungry as a result of the Covid-19 lockdown. Watching the replay of these seagulls hovering in slow motion while being fed by hand was indescribable. They are natural scavengers with very little to feed on. Due to the Covid-19 lockdown, fishermen have stopped fishing, cafes and bars where we used to eat are closed, no picnics, no scraps thrown out cars, fast food outlet...
One of the worst, most dangerous roads in New Zealand. 25kms of single lane, gravel road.
มุมมอง 5784 ปีที่แล้ว
One of the worst, most dangerous roads in New Zealand, starts at Colville on the Coromandel Peninsular and winds it's way north for 25kms to Port Jackson. The road is gravel and single lane with some passing bays along the way. Port Jackson is on the northern most tip of the Coromandel Peninsular and is well known for its Department of Conservation camping ground. From here the road continues a...
Lockdown in New Zealand (Mount Maunganui)
มุมมอง 11K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Lockdown in New Zealand (Mount Maunganui) has closed all retailers, cafes and pubs. The streets are quiet, only essential services are operating. Over the past few weeks of our Lockdown in New Zealand, I took to the streets to film the scenes we may never see again in our life time. Normally the streets are crowded, the cafes busy with hundreds of tourists from the cruise ships walking the stre...

Looking at Camping at Stoney Bay this xmas/new years period. Lovely video. Thanks
Did you drive back via Kennedy Bay ?
It was a beautiful day but ended in disaster. When arrived at Port Jackson, we discovered we had left the Thule Pod key at home. We couldn't access our camping gear. So rather than break in and damage the pod, we drove home and did it all again the following day. Only this time we went to Stoney Bay. You can watch the Stoney Bay video on the channel. All ended well. Definitely doing it all again. Coromandel is such an awesome place. Love it.
Another great video John, love the camera work 👍
Here my support

Brilliant, John! Keep them coming. How about a wharf based documentary next?
Rats are also desperately hungry and are venturing out in the open to search for food...and getting eaten by seagulls.

How to kill a small town- LOCK IT DOWN
Also how to stop thousands of boomers from dying,
This town had on average 2 to 3 cruise liners a month dock at its port. All gone now. Most of our covid-19 ttansmissions came from overseas. Lockdown saved lives, it didnt kill the town it saved it to thrive again but not today.
Posted by what Is probably a person in the most susceptible age group, a boomer
