The channel of guitarist Matthias Scolarius. Latin, Tangos, Samba, Choros and other classical guitar music pieces will be published here. Mainly for concert promotion, to organize some concerts. The Guitar is recorded with a piezo-mic and processed in a Fx-chain (Eq, Reverb, Limiter, no compression) , so the sound is the same as on gigs.
Prelude N°1 - Heitor Villa-Lobos
#classicalguitar #villalobos
Villa-Lobos iconic Prelude 1. A great piece with much space for interpretation. The symmetric structure allows painting a harder contrast (because you have the repetitions at the begining and the end). Works very nice when you put prelude 2 in front of it. That way you get a 7-8 minute Villa lobos section with an explosion at the end. Can recommend it for start or end of sets.

Prelude N°2 - H .Villa-Lobos
มุมมอง 23514 วันที่ผ่านมา
#classicalguitar #villalobos The iconic Prelude n°2 from Villa-Lobos. A piece while fairly easy to learn the notes, isn't that easy to interpret. But fun to play live, because of its playful character there is lots of room for a play with rubatos and expectations (which can give the piece a ironic character which is quite rare). However for the video version i rather went for a interpretation w...
Berceuse a Jussara - Baden Powell

#classicalguitar #badenpowell #berceuse #berceuses #berceusepourbébé A wonderful berceuse from Baden Powell. Love to play that piece after a stressful day to clear my mind and calm a bit down. Not a piece for concerts, but it works well as dinner music, where i had it in a set. So if you consider playing somewhere where you have to play as "background" music: beautiful, still interesting, but n...
Etude Nr1 -Heitor Villa-Lobos (Guitar Etude)
มุมมอง 339หลายเดือนก่อน
#classicalguitar #heitorvillalobos Here's another etude i like to play. Quite a tricky one, the constant repetition will start to work on your patience while the chromatic downward shifting of the middle part is just confusing (the shifting will play mind tricks on the player because all of a sudden higher notes are on empty strings and not on the grabbed chord notes ). And then you need full c...

#classicalguitar #etude clean version: th-cam.com/video/UjvIepVnUgM/w-d-xo.html So this time i decided to pull it through a bunch of beat-repeats running in a parallel structure ripping out certain bits of music with a certain chance. Then it runs into a simple ping-pong delay. I like the glitches and the randomness in combination with the expression and ornaments of the etude. Hope you enjoy i...

#classicalguitar #etude #leobrouwer Fx version: th-cam.com/video/WF42OfUqtmw/w-d-xo.html Today i am sharing one of my favorite etudes from Leo Brouwer . It is an excellent etude to train your left hand hammering and pull-off technique as well as their expression because of the many forte- /piano repetitions . I played it to a programmed click which drops at the end of the first sequence (and in...

#classicalguitar #brazilianmusic #samba #badenpowell Baden Powell's arrangement of Cidade Vazia an iconic jazz composition from the Milton Banana Trio in the mid sixties. Great playing👏👏 Somehow the recording sounds a bit "off" to me.
i played the first version from a notebook. not entierly sure but it could be the first solo version of it. in the beginning it starts at 30 % less speed and than gets faster gradually. should maybe have used programmed metronome. however play it with a hard cut now when i play it live. and thanks for the compliment. nice cover on your channel btw :)
Felicitaciones😊😊😊❤
¡Muchas gracias!

Cool piece... I learned it when i was 12
i actually don`t know when i learned it, somewhere between 11and 14. I don`t know if it`s only me but thats the first time i felt challenged, in lessons. maybe the second had a bach menuett which was the first time i had to jumps do barrees and pulloffs. Great work on your channel btw.

never thought of this that way, but i also put out some videos where played with a burned hand. maybe classical guitarists should play in sm clubs for some bourgy vibes.
I am a fan of the Romantic Period for Guitar, which was between 1825 to 1910. I play a different tune by Lauro called the Venezuelan dance, which was originally composed for piano. My purpose to reaching out to the man that played this piece of music is to encourage you. I would also like very much to throw you some pearls. I would like you to get the Segovia diatonic major minor scales. I would also like for you to get the slur studies And I would like you to alternate different combinations of PIMA and work your free stroke arpeggios from the fourth string down arpeggios PIMA, PMIA, PIAM, PAMI etc. Get a metronome for this next part And I want you on your right hand to work free stroke and rest stroke between I and M and I and A and M and A. I I want you to put a metronome set to 16th notes and I want you to start of with I and M back-and-forth between IM on the beat but only do that twice then I want you to make a burst of five notes so it’ll be 1-2(on the beat) then 5 notes in 16th notes so it should sound like 1…2…1,2,3,4,5 1…2… 1,2,3,4,5 this way every other time you start the pattern with the opposite finger - one time you will begin with I and because there are five notes which is done intentionally you will begin the next series on M and I want you to do that for I and M and I and a and M and a. I also , with regard to your left hand, want you to work the slur studies and this will be so very important for developing proper left hand position. I want you to think of the palm of your left hand as a straight line that should run parallel to the edge of the fret board. This means that you should turn your wrist and have the portion of the palm that is closest to your pinky very close to the neck Think of the palm is a straight line and the neck is a straight line and they should function parallel. This will force you to curl over the pinky and curl the fingers and it will make your left hand much more efficient and sonorous. Like the previous exercises, I told you to work work these the same way, in the sense that they should be even . Lastly, I want you to get 2400 grade sandpaper 8000 grade sandpaper 12,000 grade sandpaper and I want you to file the edge of the nails on your right hand starting with the coarsest and you can simply cut a piece let’s say 3 x 5 or 6 inches and wrap that around an emery board so that you have something to press against and file your edges of your nails and when you get up to the 12,000 after use for a while it will begin to feel like leather. This will polish the edge of your nail so that when you come through the string you will get the best tone I learned these things from studying with John Sutherland at the University of Georgia back in the 80sand I thought I would pass them on to you as I see a really great guitar player in the making you just have some rough edges. These right hand and left hand techniques will then allow you to play the Segovia diatomic major and minor scales much more effectively, and both hands will work together much more efficiently guitar was broken down by Segovia into left-hand technique, right hand, technique, exercises, and then putting those together and playing scales.
thx.... whooo thats alot... soo i tried out that 5 stroke practice..... that is actually really good and since i have the impression that i use still a little bit too much energy this i guess will help me. left hand position, i've got the bad habit to not switch back between chords there you have to change angle, i also realized this happens mainly in the 0-5 fret region (so this means ellbow out more often). beeing parallell + on songs where hammering / pullof sounds actually matter (if they have to "stick out")i purposly train to have my ellbow at the body which works if the composition allows it (so there i will still try to pull it off with weird angles(or i find out another way to get a really strong hammering pull of sound)) . also i found out that i should definetly go parrallel before melodic runs (that was the one where i saw the biggest difference). nails... i know it.. i switched to pong 2 weeks ago(this video was before that) and that actually helped a lot, i have to reinforce nails somehow (because i broke them alot) and i prefer pong nails to making acryl or gel nails (for now), playing with a piezo means you hear everything, whicch means i have to do sth about it...and for now its pong nails at least im quite happy because of the consitent sound and i can prepare them when i've got the time and fix nails in under 5 minutes which is fine and because i only have 20-25 hours a week for guitar this is my solution for now. Segovia scale i'll try out in the next couple of days. i remember that i had those exercises with i think 12 years or sth... maybeeeee a i should refresh them (had a guitar break for almost 10 years), giving my best to play somewhere beyond the 80 % of whats possible and its true that i could do more technique ( i 'll have to figure out how i will time manage that) but im usually not that bad in adapting new techniques to old pieces so the choice to work on reportoire seems also valid for me (gonna be tough that decision) from 20 hours i spend really only 4 per week which i guess is not enough (i heard pros spend up to 50%) but again for me that decision is mainly a time management issue. i really hope that my playing is enjoyable even for trained guitarists (last 10 % on every instruments are always the hardest i guess). ill have to stay realistic tho, 20 hours and a hole of 10 years not playing guitar, i'm not enterily sure that it's possible for me to have the same amount of technique skill than a guitarist with a academic degree (who nonstop played guitar). for now its playing the best i can with the less errors possible and a certain amount of sophistication, and getting the first 60 concerts done ( im currently at 10, also private but strangers and paid ) and having the first public in 2 weeks (working on homepage and adding insta with improvisations and maybe pictures from concerts). so far i'm on my way to whatever it will take me. but it's nice to get such a direct and honest criticism (even tho it was a bit much to read though , but thats fine). and also thanks for the compliment, i really appreciate it. Good luck with your piece. would love to hear it if possible.
its so musical holyy
thx a lot, glad your enjoyed it.
nice sir.
Thx a lot. Nice channel aswell. If you find a way to add some robo-fingers to an arm let me know :D
Wonderful
Thx. Means the world to me, that peole enjoy my playing!
