It's the precision of his left hand that is amazing. Every note as clear as a bell.
You can adjust the metronome and leave it on and it will stay together
It seems Schoenberg wrote it for Gould. Just compare it with other pianists trying tis peace.
what would I say, pure best!
Awesome
My favorite pianist, my favorite composer and my favorite music work ever written.
CANADIAN GENIOUS - SHALOM AL YISRAEL IN THE NAME OF DAVID RAUH
IT (Steven King 1990, HW) s a really nice play and i appreciate it so much with pain of course, hopefully you'll like my cello swieties, too 🙂
At least we are able to find some serious stuff on YT for some coins or even for free if we are granted ....
tornata...
Ich höre durchaus Schumann.
Wow!
it started very good and i really liked it, but then it turned into sooo much staccato and it sounded disturbing.
Совершенно другая музыка в отличии от классического звучания оригинала. Это не совсем Бетховен, точнее назвать, Гулд-Бетховен.
Wish someone could answer my question: Did Bach play this fugue at these fast speeds, or did Gould just do it for fun? I never thought fugues were played at these fast speeds.
grazie
It's impossible to listen to these without smiling -- in a good way ! Such flawless playing, and so light-hearted.
Cmq è sempre Bach e preferisco ascoltare altri a nulla. Auguri
grazie
incredible perfection, you can even hear GG crooning
Nº1, compás nº15, mano izquierda: staccato completamente innecesario.

Thanks Precilla for sharing Glenn Gould's sublime musics.
One of the poor version. Did Mr. Gould knewed about the pedals?🧐
pedals in Bach on piano? you want to make it cantilena?
@@nolifer-yx4ko Piano does no exist in Bach times..
@@albertvirtovincx1264 exactly, that's why pedal is not right thing to imitate more authentic sound
Well, if Glenn Gould was so purist, maybe he had played this masterpiece in a clavecín. But Bach's music is over and over than personal tastes, including mine.
Sounds much better and serious without the pedal in my opinion. Gould himself said that Bach was a sober composer.
grazie
Glenn Gould - мировая легенда.
My two favourite parts of this recording by a genious : 16:26 17:27
The problem I have with Gould is that I want to watch him playing
Grazie!!!
I am a big fan and unfortunately don't play the piano like him, but I play the cello somehow 🙂 B"H
Come suona bach lui nessuno
Is this a version of A.o.F. by Glenn? Or arranged for piano and voice by Glenn... It sounds like. With all respect to Gleen, but after listened to this video ( first time to A.o.F. by Gleen), certainly to me is annoyning his singing (not a good singer to my opinion). That is my humble opinion. Thanks for the video!
934 wasnt played well, every other piece were the best renditions ive heard
934 Is my best, for music, not interpretazion... Anyway Glenn Is magic!
It is played beautifully, this is how he feels about this prelude.
I agree! I listened to this little prlude when I was fifteen, in 1988, and I immediately fell in love with it and Glenn's interpretation... Yesterday, listening to it again, I thought something was wrong with his "staccato"... I don't want to contradict anyone's opinion, I simply want to underline the beauty of this prelude. However, hearing it today, I have to change my mind again and reiterate that Glenn Gould was once again a genius, expecially in this interpretation! An immense gift for the world!
@@MarcoMigani-gx1or yeah i feel the same way to, i thought perhaps you could have slurred the top notes but hey whatever lol
yes, now I think "staccato" is beautiful in his hands!
Wow, thank you so much!
Thank You very much for your correction !!!
Am I just imagining it or can you hear him humming along very quietly in some spots?
he is, that's one of Gould's iconic trait
Thanks for sharing Glend Gould version. This is marvelous
Ti ascolto sempre al buio e li perdo il contollo...prova snche tu😊
anch'io.... allucinante.
Genius for Piano play JS BACH
Two souls inspired by God
WHY WE TALKING ABOUT?? WHY,, PEOPLE OF THIS PLANET?
Stunning music for the time when Bach created it, a musician unlike any other in a century, and a result that seems so easy to hear: it's magic. But I have a huge advantage over the other commentators : I'm not a musician !
happiness...
933の後半二回目の最後で左手強くゆっくりにアレンジされてて戦慄もの。
Glend Gould was a great pianist Thanks for sharing
I listen to this piece by GG everyday and I havent tired of it yet. I'm a huge Gould fan.
Wonderful! Thank you, Priscilla. I like this far better on organ. Best I havever heard is Helmut Walcha. Manyears ago, using a cassette recorder, I recorded Contrapunctus *XI* ( 12:33 ) on a piano. Discovered that I was humming along, mostly the pedal notes. Never thought of playing *XIV* so tenderly. Athend I am sorry that Gould does not play all the notes that Bach wrote down.
