What are you? 10 yrs old ? 😂
It’s the springs that do the trick different size bike have different colored springs
Nice 👌
Thanks 😊 72 hrs on it so far and it’s been solid.
@@chadrides914 Good to hear. I just picked one up a month ago. Those beta demos sold me on them.
@@ratherberiding5964 only thing I did was lean the needle 1 clip here at 600ft elevation.
Sheesh. That sounded violent
@@ratherberiding5964 haha yeh broke a shift lever and all else was good somehow lol
i wanna ride it 😅
I’m hearing a bit of biebs
If lots of play up and down what should be looked at?
Most likely Bad bottom end crank bearings.
Damn talk having so much fun!!
Killing it on a 40lb bike. Smooth as silk. Go Taj.
Are those your granddaughters? I wonder do you tell them they can’t talk moto, ride moto, since they’re girls? Do better.
check out the Cisco's Power Valve Spring.
Good tip! I had not heard of Cisco before. I’ll will definitely check it out.
You commented on one of my videos and I don’t know what you mean by your comment?
I replied concerning buster posey. 👍
How do u know if seal is bad ??
After or during rides you’ll notice oil flung around the sprocket or the frame and or engine case around the sprocket. It’s pretty obvious and just inspect the sprocket after riding before washing. Usually it’ll have a black oil star shape around the outside.
Taj was so good at rails and ramps. his backwards grinds on ramps are smoother and longer than most people riding forward. his later videos kept getting better somehow too
Yeh. Watching him and Joe Rich ride street together in VHS Tapes was such a core memory.
Muchas gracias por compartir su conocimiento
Your welcome. 🙏
thanks for this. very helpful
Your welcome! I’m glad it was useful for you.
All on a 40 lb bike 👋 now we 25-27 lb bikes and crazy ass progressive riding. Taj is a legend for sure. 🤘🏻
Yes. Stud to ride those steel beasts of that era.
@@chadrides914 Yup, still have a Standard STA platinum in the shed. And some 44-45 t sprockets. The golden era of Bmx 🤘🏻
@@DuhYaThink niiice! I remember the unique STA headtube gusset design. Those were very very well respected bikes of that era. My bro rode a sm Dirtbike and I had a first generation Gt Fueler. I think Josh Hino designed the Fueler but not sure.

Loved it pal nice work. I see she grabed the saw a couple times
Ah yeh prolly operator error, I don’t fell a lot of trees anymore.
@@chadrides914 no big deal pal just wondering what is doing that maybe the hinge wood grabbing the saw
@@chadrides914 Iv been cutting for years just never seen it happen so much just curious
Yeh it is the hingewood, the sycamores have incredible strong hinges and with conventional cuts they want to stay on the stump and not release from the hinge sometimes so i leave the saw in the back cut a little too long maybe and its getting caught up in the pulling fibers maybe? Sycamores do this to me, but no pine or maple or cottonwood do it.....I just need more practice felilng, i spend most my time in equipment...everything is getting chipped on this job ..@@RSDOutdoors
@@chadrides914 copy that well that makes sense well great job none the less

Little different than dirtbikes eh
My cylinder don’t have that plate on the front mines 97
I’ve got a 96 I just built. It’s same power valve setup as my 2020. Not sure what your missing. You can order the plate cover for the power valve from oem parts schematic
This is old info! YZ tuners changed the spring as part of tuning tricks. Washer wasn't removed to maintain bearing reliability.
I see this is an old video, but I did this mod to my 2016 250x and it made a huge difference. It made the power valve open up much earlier ( similar to the yz) which made it a lot more predictable. I believe the newer x's come with the power valve tension close to this mod.
@user-fz8fy4zl1cno I have 2 yz’s. One is an X other is a 2006. This was off the 2006 yz
Does it make much difference? or is a more compressed head better?
Does it real matter the order i put my o ring in firstly then the spacer then the gasket over it all
Either way is fine so long you don’t damage the seal lip.
I wonder how far I could get on my old KX250. Cool video
Come try there is another one here in the next couple weeks.
Do you have to drain the oil before performing these steps?
NOPE
What tires do you run?
Traditional enduros I run mx33’s, hard enduros I run at81ex’s, my do it all tire is Mitas 754 green stripe. Have multiple sets of rear wheels. Just swap out when conditions permit. Heavy mud I run ve33.
@@chadrides914 thanks. I recently purchased a built 2019 yz250x with only 30 hours and still has the stock AT81s and I’m starting to do more hard enduro riding and wanted some opinions for good tires.
Heck yeah, how well did you place?
I didn’t make it out of the qualifier. Rode a good race made it to the tire obstacle and wedged my bike in the tires, spent 20 minutes in the tires and gave up. Quit. So bummed because everything else went fairly well.
Tough race for sure, I had to take some time off due to knee injury but hoping to give it a go again next year.
@@nickklatt6288 I enjoyed it more than any harescramble I just can’t believe how dumb the tire section was.

Why is bro listening to ariana grande
“Bro” lives in the woods and has few stations that are available, so ask the local Dj.
Hey bro I got a question I got a 04 kx 125 and I got a new Athena cylinder and gasket kit..I lost the top head gasket tried to order a new one and they said I only need them 2 rubber O rings but it had a head gasket on it an it came with a new one with the cylinder but I lost it is it true I don’t need the gasket only them 2 black O rings thanks for your help man 🤘🏻
So don’t confuse the head gasket with the cylinder base gasket. The head, uses only 2 orings and those orings are re-useable if they are in good shape, but the base gasket at the cylinder/case is a paper/cork type gasket and can’t be reused. Hope this helps.
Why not just buy a lighter spring?
Lol @ focus you f#ck
That’s DOCTOR Brian Foster!
Coulda pulled that seal out wit dem fingernails
You should have learned proper grammatical sentence structure and basic spelling, but hey neither of us are perfect are we? I guess I wouldn’t expect any better coming from someone who spells “wit dem” in a comment. Have a good day man. Just razing you back. God Bless.
Just bustin yo ballz.....take err easy! Thanks for the informative video!
Fukin legend. Had one of his frames and the air walk shoes. The 90’s were awesome

Blue falcon one of the best
Damn. Memories. Before or after Until Monkeys Fly part?
I’m assuming before because I haven’t heard of the Monkeys Fly part. Not sure though.
@@chadrides914 oh man. Go find that video, you will not be disappointed! Hoffman Bikes - Until Monkeys Fly. It must be almost the same year based on style/quality. + he looks like he his riding his custom frame (no other wishbones like that at that point?) 96/97 ?
Monkeys was '97 so this is a year earlier dude.
Those shorts were the best. I saved the patch and sewed it onto another pair of cargos from the Army Navy store. Rode with Taj one time at it was mesmerizing
Heck yeh man! Taj is a legend.
What kit did you use?
I’ve used both OEM and the All Balls. Both have worked well. The All balls had a thicker oring so I suppose it might be better sealing 🤷♂️
I put a little bit of threebond gasket dressing on all paper gaskets
Good video but you would think that removing that washer which the bearing rides on would not be good which may cause this to wear out a lot faster and yes the power valve will open a lot sooner now. Does Yamaha offer a softer spring instead? I know that they changed to cylinder head on the YZ250x and it is a lower compression head. If your current cylinder head has the "5up" stamped in it my the spark plug hole then that's the higher compression YZ head. Just my 2 cents and I hope this worked ok for you.
Not sure why you would think the lack of that washer would cause more wear. If they are both of the same brinnel hardness there is no difference. If anything the pressure is less now so wear would be less. I couldn’t tell much a difference and went back to stock configuration.
@@chadrides914 I understand as to what you mean and I have worked on bikes for many years and I have seen my share of modifications like this that worked just fine and other modifications that turned out to be a disaster. I just hate to see something get messed up and wind up costing more to fix if there was a better solution that's why I questioned it. Just my 2 cents.
Nice ice bike. Skidmore tire's or you build your own? I build my own & run 1" KOLD Kutters in the front with a liner. Rear has 1 1/4" with a liner.
That tire was a pre built trelleborg winter friction tire. But I’ve since moved to buying grip studs and installing them into irc m5b’s or ve33 tires for winter riding in snow and frozen ground. I don’t do much ice riding as the lakes don’t always freeze here. ✊✊
Cool build
