    Can one do a keyboard solo, a line of single notes, but that are delivered as a single, unbroken note? As with on a theremin, where you could play happy birthday to you as one long tone that passes, unbroken through the notes of the melody. The keyboard solo in Steely Dan's "King of the World" is like this. Can such be done on this machine? It is easy to see that notes can be bent by the wheels at the left of the keyboard, but that is not the issue; that is for embellishing a single note, not for feeling one's way through an entire melody - though maybe one could use it that way in a limited sense (the bending can't be more than a step or two)... Anyone?

    • @izzzzzz6
      @izzzzzz6 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has portamento with a variable time setting so if you move from one note to another the 1st note will slide up to the next note. Perhaps playing around with this will help to achieve the effect your looking for.

      It is an excellent Digital Piano and highly recommended, but I would always suggest that play them both and see how you feel about them side by side. Better is so subjective and depends on your personal circumstances which may come down to very practical elements such as size.

    Olá amigo! Acho que essa linha veio com problema no sustain. Mesmo configurando na função "Sustain/Assignable Jack" o sustento do som some logo. Tem sustento mas o som não dura o mesmo tempo (ou longo o suficiente) quanto outros teclados/pianos. Digo isso com segurança pois conheço pessoas que assim como eu, têm esse piano e passam pelo mesmo problema. Já testei vários outros pedais mas sem sucesso. Fiz isso várias vezes e de várias formas (por exemplo ligando e desligando o teclado entre as tentativas com os vários pedais). Fica um vazio quando uso o timbre de piano... Tem ideia de uma possível solução? É uma pena um problema desse num piano tão bom. Fico no aguardo. Obrigado!

    For the price this piano is great sound. I played piano in college and I like to take it up again so I went to my local Guitar Center and bought this piano on sale for $350. I like to weighted keys and finding a piano with weighted keys at this price is pretty much unheard of. I don't think I'll ever be playing live so this piano suits me fine.

  • @akhil29897
    @akhil29897 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    The keys are too hard to play...there's just a slight delay in between pressing the note and hearing the sound. the sounds and rhythms are sooo childish... My 11000 rupee casio sounds the same except some new piano tones and hammer keys

  • @johnhurt888
    @johnhurt888 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I read in the manual that theres 4 lid simulator settings. But the manual also says "opening or closing the lid doesnt affect the LID SIMULATOR setting". I'm confused now. Some demos show opening the lid changing the sound. But in this video the lid is partially open and the player is pressing some buttons to change the lid simulator settings. So does that mean you can either use the buttons, or physically open the lid to change the sound?

    • @evanofelipe
      @evanofelipe 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is sensor connected to the lid, so I assume it electronically activates the effect when the lid is lifted. I think that most of the 'effects' can be activated by different methods, e.g. 'Grand piano' functions can either be activated directly by push button on the console but also via 'Function' button and pressing appropriate piano keys. I believe the only benefit of lifting the lid is to allow the smaller speakers hidden under there to be heard more clearly. I have to say that I do not find the Instruction Manual very straight forward and even after owning a PX860 for a couple of months find am still having to pour through its pages to activate a particular feature. We could do with a video precisely demonstrating the activation of all of PX 860 extensive features.

    • @robschneider7140
      @robschneider7140 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The lifting of the lid affects the actual sound waves (lid closed, only hear sound from the back of the piano; lid open, sound is directed at the player.) The buttons will change the digital processor to alter the sound coming out of the speakers. I agree, though, that running the manual through Google Translate then printing it leaves something to be desired in understanding the new technology, considering Casio has some innovations in this model not found in comparable models from the competition.

      +Paul Munson Hey Paul, Thanks for getting in touch. The best way to compare to see if you can find which one will suit your needs best is to look at the details and specifications on www.casiomusicdealer.co.uk. There are also other and perhaps newer models for you to consider. They are improving the range all the time at Casio. Very best, Brian

      @briangreene989 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Paul Munson LOL. ah! Sorry. A very glib response would be that you will have your answer, but clearly you don't so, I wonder what are you looking for in your Piano? In general the higher the number, the more sophisticated the specification. More sounds (tones), extra connectivity to PC or audio devices etc. Are you looking for a specific feature/benefit?

    • @pmunity
      @pmunity 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Brian Greene That's alright Brian. I have narrowed it down to this AP460 and the PX860. I gather the internals are the same, but the AP460 cabinet is bigger, so I wondered if you have had any personal experience. But I realise I will have to go along to the shop and compare the sound quality.

    • @briangreene989
      @briangreene989 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Paul Munson I would definitely do that. But the key difference is the Celviano AP range is the flag ship. PX range is the Privia, the one down. Yes, go and feel the difference and the effect the size of the cabinet has, both in terms of the resonance and sound and the portability and space it takes up at home.
