Wooden Ladder Restoration

Hay season is here, and George stops loading hay to focus on the old barn ladder he uses to get to the upper loft. He added hooks and tightened the wooden ladder he found on the roadside many years ago. 00:00 Introduction 07:05 Marker 2 07:05 Marker 1

New Holland Problems: New Holland Workmaster troubles continue
มุมมอง 14K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
George's frustration with his New Holland Workmaster 105 tractor is mounting. His first tractor with a cab, which has just over 100 hours, has had many problems. Most recently, the windshield wipers and fan stopped working. The windows on his WorkMaster 105 model don't open, and with hay season around the corner, this is a big problem. George pulls out his Ford 2120 and compares his 1986 tracto...
Farmer George - Jack of All Trades

Meet George, a farmer, machinist, excavator, father, and grandfather who took a chance in the 1980s and negotiated with a bank to acquire a foreclosed property that locals were using as an illegal trash dump. Today, 40 years later, the land is a thriving farm.
Buyer's Remorse New Holland Workmaster 105

We head to Smithfield Tractors to pick up a quick-release hose to attach the snowplow to our New Holland WorkMaster 105. George second-guesses his tractor purchase when comparing his model to the newest one. The latest New Holland is a beefier machine, and we only had our tractor for over a year, and it had several issues.

Root Grapple Attachment for Stump Removal

Today, we put the root grapple on the New Holland Workmaster 105 tractor to remove the black locust tree stump from the front yard. AJ took the lead, using the rubber tire backhoe to tear down the stump, while Jimmy operated the grapple and added the debris to the farm's burn pile. Always something to do on our New Jersey farm.

These ladders should have been painted at the time to protect their wood. Paint offers great protection to wood over the years.

When you were moving the log you kept putting your hand between the pusher and the log. That's a no no. You have to be careful with this particular splitter . At times it would pressure up and move the pusher at high speed. I had one years ago. I'm sure someone is still using it.

We are allowed to burn, but the burn pile has to be no larger than 1 meter x 1 meter. We feed the burn off from the larger pile, in a controlled way, not just set fire to a huge bonfire. No wonder his neighbour complains lol

We put a lot of care and thought into our farm. Universities come and monitor the castrol hawks, and the usda monitors the wetlands and eastern wood turtles. By burning the stuff we cant chip, we remove the likelihood of a big fire. Please send me an excel document with your calculations for emissions, including offsets, and I will gladly fill it out.

Just came across your page while looking at some old tractors stuff and it’s very cool watching the adventures of farm life in, we have a 10 acre Almond orchard for 25 years they are ready to be cut down and maybe replanted but the price of Almonds is getting so low for us and 4-5 years before they can be harvested that maybe something would be better. We are in Hughson California it’s a great little town unlike other parts we are in the central valley agricultural area all around us. GOD BLESS YOU ❤🙏

Cover the burn pile with dirt except for a small hole on each end of the pile to let a little bit of air in. Then, instead of wasting all that biomass, you make biochar. And there's no chance of the fire getting out of control.

    • @farminfixin4132
      @farminfixin4132 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

We do keep a dirt parameter and use dirt to put out fires, but I havent tried your suggestion before. Thank you for sharing.

New Holland is the worst tractor brand i know of. I have had nothing but trouble with New Holland T6070, New Holland T6050. I agree this is not a dealer issue, it is a New Holland issue. I also have a New Holland 8030, basically a re branded Ford, that is almost 25yrs old, not a days problem with that tractor

I will agree with you on that. I have never operated a NH that wasn't a piece of junk. Buddy of mine said "I'm looking at a NH Workmaster 105" I said man don't do it they are crap. He bought it anyway and has had a mountain of trouble with it. In fact, it is broken down right now with 147 hrs on the clock lol.

Over-running clutches are technically called "Sprag" clutches. Over-running clutches should always be mounted on the implement side, not the tractor side as per Weasler's web site. When PTO is disengaged, the telescoping PTO shaft still has flywheel effect from implement on tractor mounted over running clutch

I’m 6’4 and nah I don’t fit in this tractor. Seat doesn’t go back far enough, the seat is too low when it’s set for my weight and too stiff when it’s high enough, nothing is quite in the right place. Terrible tractor.

I did not say it was a good tractor I was saying that most equipment it set up for the average size man and that it is going to be a little off if you are to tall are to short The seat does not go for enough back for me but it does not go forward enough for my three year old either

I hope you get it figured out. Our wm65 has a couple of the same issues. I thought of welding a piece to the differential lock. When you need it is usually in a hurry and I dont like searching for it. Ours couldnt be left outside in the rain, had a bad seal on the cpu that was letting water in. Front hub gave out at 450hr. Bunch of small stuff. Overall been a good machine. I doubt it lasts 10k hrs like our old fords and deeres.

I really hate that you are having trouble with your Workmaster....I have been there and done that Tried 4 of them in 5 years, 2 workmasters and 2 power stars.....Spent a lot of time and money before i finally just took my losses and traded the last new one in on a Kubota....I could not be happier..there is a night and day difference in the quality of workmanship from one to the other....If you can....When you get the Workmaster fixed this time....Take it down the road... and trade it before the 2 yr warranty runs out....trust me, it will hurt the pocket book! but, you would be happier, i think in the end...Just remember Case and New Holland are the same company and the same tractors.....so make sure its another brand....I did a lot of thinking on my decision before i chose Kubota, and you may choose another brand and that's ok....But I like that with Kubota they Build EVERYTHING on the tractor...sure they may source a few parts here and there but the tractor is all Kubota and I like that.....Trust me If FORD was still around and made the same tractors they used too....that's what i would still buy....I really hope you can get the WM fixed but you may never be happy with it!

We have a work master 105 has 700 hours on it and has had a bare spot in wire harness that kept blowing blower fan fuse inside the cab, the main hydraulic Pump leaked oil and had seals replaced, oil pan gasket leaked and was replaced, main seal was leaking so they had to split the tractor in half to replace, some fuel throttle body went bad causing the engine to randomly drop 3-400 hundred rpm’s, and now is in the shop to get an entirely new exhaust system because it continues to have the def derate. It has never made 100 hours without needing dealer service all in 2 years time
