Agree with 98% of the review, but I think you may have overlooked one of the truly interesting things in the game - there is a real choice that does matter in the middle. In Loomin (the place with multiple disasters you have to keep going back to), you're given a choice whether or not to help save a guy's pet monster worm. If you decide to go with the townspeople to destroy it, the town remains destroyed forever. No game over or anything.
