Quest Culture Podcast - "Yesterday" Movie Review
This episode helped me remember how much I love Christmas. Thank you. @Quest_culture podcast!!!
Love, love, love this episode!!! 🎄
It was so much fun❗️
Terry Hatcher (Hubba, hubba)
‘Is Superman Circumcised’ remains my favorite book
I don't get to
Ruffalo's Bruce Banner has had a long time on the run to make peace with his demons and find a kind of balance -- or at least he thinks he has. The scene where he gently rocks the empty cradle while he says, "yeah, well, I don't all the time get what I want" is very good and subtle acting, hinting at the fact that Banner believes he can't father children (and to be fair, he couldn't with a human female because she'd never survive the pregnancy). That feeds into his line, "That's my secret, Cap: I'm always angry.". He's found a way to ride the wave of all of his pain and anger, always just keeping the Hulk under the surface, rather than running away from the Hulk. Norton plays Banner very well on his way down to his lowest point, and Ruffalo plays Banner very well climbing out of that darkness. The key point is the deleted scene from Norton's move where he tries to commit suicide by putting a gun in his mouth and pulling the trigger, which Ruffalo references with, "Kill me? You can't. I know: I've tried. I got low, I couldn't see a way out. I put a bullet in my mouth, and the *OTHER GUY* spit it out."
I love Norton better acting
Do not go to the basement. My basement was creepy!
Just watched Trap this weekend and I loved it! Thanks, LuDana!!
Why is thos a short? Was he in the movie? Or is he just a huge fan?
Yes,yes, yes. I remember it vividly when my dad took me to Superman. I had exactly the same reaction. I remember cheering.
That's so cool!!! Such an iconic movie!
You should also watch "Behind The Mask, The Rise and Fall of Leslie Vernon" - the coolest concept of "following a bad guy" I have ever seen
Oh cool!! Will check it out! Thanks for recommendation!
Oh nice!! That's a concept I've been looking for in a movie! Cool recommendation!!
The Purge is what happens when human beings don't have God in their life. Because without God morality is relative so it doesn't matter if you kill each other or Rob each other
2 3 maybe 4 grade 😂
Oooh wowww 😆👻
I was a kid and traumatized!! Couldn't remember! Lol
I love you be too!
Signs was good, but I wouldn't go to the theater to see his movies
Did they forget about Lando?
How could we forget Land?? :) We listed Lando in the video. You should check it out! Thanks for watching.
Then make your own fucking show. I need to see more “people of color” Sitting on your ass, pissing and moaning. Doing absolutely nothing. yeah bitching is all you do!
Wolverine is angry cause he is kind of a living proof of the evils of humans he's damned to basically never die and forced to watch everyone he loves die and half of the time he has to kill them he has fought in every American war since the Civil War and is seen as a freak shunned by humanity and a living experiment, cap is a fucking boy scout, brain washed solider
Right right right right 🙋🏿♂️
Matt Dillon in Rumble Fish. Matt Damon would have been 3. Best episode yet. Wish I was part of that conversation.
@@maxbuc Thank you so much for watching and commenting. It was a lot of fun to shoot. 🖖🏾
Great conversation with filmmaker and cultural critic, Vagabond Beaumont!!
It was such a great conversation. We gotta have him back.
It’s about the getting Chewbacca home for “Life Day” and it came out in ‘78 🤣 Empire wasn’t even a thing yet. This is what George wanted for the franchise.
@@timothyj.wright5833 Yep. We made a note of that in the description. It was Chewbacca, not the Ewoks. Sometimes we get it wrong in the moment, but we own up to it.
The accolade was pushing an agenda and we all know what that agenda is
Hi Robert What agenda was Acolyte pushing?
I stopped for the UB Bulls hat and stayed for the Dayle Hodge interview.
Thank you for staying to watch! We appreciate. Dayle was Great!!! He will be back. Go Bulls!!
100% writers didn't care about the lore of the world Jedi and sith.😢 if they just made movies out of the old comics and games, it could've been amazing.
He’s 100% right actually,
Smart ninjas doing great tings!!✨️✌🏿💯🙏🏿🧠👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Much appreciated!!!
Great topic on this episode! One of the many things you touch on that I feel in my bones is that these products aren't bad b/c of diversity. They are bad b/c they are often poorly written, rushed efforts to squeeze cash out of an established IP.
You are correct... Poorly written. Episodes are rushed.... Etc
The problem with Star Wars is nostalgia. Except Episode 1, that was pure trash. It started marketing to kids after Regan change advertising rules and marketing to children
Read the Bible.
You read the Bible.
@@QuestCulturePodcast I do. Thanks :)
@@Staayreal So, we're all good. Enjoy your day :)
@@QuestCulturePodcast yes we are. Remember, Jesus is the only way to salvation ❤️✝️
Making another F4 movie outside of the MCU is pointless, and nobody wants it.
“Nobody wants it “ is a pretty strong claim. There is a lot of excitement for a reset. There’s also , clearly , some angst about it. We’ll see what the story is and if it works.
@@QuestCulturePodcastno body wants a ff movie outside of the mcu.
@@SaggleSacHi! Why do you think nobody wants FF movie? Casting is key!!!
Thanks for hosting Roy. He is an amazing Comics Historian
@@SonofJeddah It was our pleasure , having him on. He’s amazing. Super informative. Super fun. Thanks for watching. We appreciate it. 🙂
@@QuestCulturePodcast my pleasure and please keep up the good work ✊🏼
You guys are doing great. Keep working. Great intelligent afro voices! ❤️🖤💚🌟👊🏿💯
Thank you so much and thank you for taking a moment to watch 🖤 🙏🏾
Sounds pretty gay.
Brilliant retort. Thanks for playing.
It IS Gay! Very astute! 🌈
Wheel of Time book was great. The adaptation was lacking. D&D movies are difficult to make because of the history behind it.
I enjoyed the movie for the most part. I liked the killer. The kills were awesome. Following the killer was unique, relaxing and peaceful. I didn't like the other characters because of their horrible acting. The ending was blah for me.
Agreed. The end was pretty blah and some of the acting was a bit cringe, but , yes, the Killer was terrifying and the way it was shot was a lot of fun.
@@QuestCulturePodcast Nice.
I thought that was RDJ in tropic thunder
Yes, I could see that. 😁
It is extremely important to have these conversations with black voices included. These comic books, videos, movies, and shows are highly driven and watched by people of color. Great, representation, guys. Looking like the podcast "Avengers" ✌🏿👊🏿💯
Great show!!!
@@brianedrington6587 Thank so much , Brian! We apologize you taking the time to watch 🖖🏾🙂
