Wide Awake @ The Anthrax 1988
มุมมอง 7K16 ปีที่แล้ว
The almighty Wide Awake @ The Anthrax in Norwalk - From a show May 13th 1988 w/ Bold, Head On & Uppercut. 1) Last Straw 2) False Pride. From the "we're taking pictures for our Schism 7 inch" show (note Joe Snow in the Up Front shirt on stage behind Rob taking the pics). This was pretty typical of Wide Awake shows in '88, complete insanity. The mic cuts out at the end of Last Straw for a minute,...

Every once in a while over the years this pops up in my feed and I watch it. And yes, I always shout BREAK with a single finger in the air
This was when I met all of you and was introduced to VBHC scene. I met Kurt at the record store at the beach and saw Dwell at the Beach Hut. Made great memories hanging out with you all while still somehow managing to serve in the USN. Full circle as I’m back living in Mass now after retiring this week! Come up for some road tips along the east coast! So Hi Ron Arron (Krishna neckbeads were on point) and Jon. Hope all is well. -Squid
Oh man, these were the days of my learning how to play music, I'm Aaron (on the far right). Still loving these fine gentlemen that I shared the stage with then. Jai!
How freaking weird is it that I stumbled apon this 31 years to the day?! Don't recall playing this show, but I guess we did. "Hi Ron"
I WAS THERE!
Chills at 3:11
One of these dudes was in Lazycain later
@2:08 Pretty sure thats the singer from 4 Walls Falling
Yep
this is why America feared generation X
Far better than Rage
YES!!!
Alguém 2020?
One of the best shows I was at. Zach was fucking intense. Guitar was sick.
Exactly the kind of atmosphere I like at a HC show. Everyone packed in tight, thr energy is through the roof. VS many shows today with 6 dudes throwing windmill punches during break downs and everyone else standing way back.
Dude, sorry for the random question but i really wanted to ask u. Did you record linkin park anytime playing on twisters back to 2000?
RE SACADOOOOOOOOOOOO
Amazing show! Loved it ever since i was i a Young kid...
more. more. MORE!
Does Tom morello was the guitarist on that one?
No.
I could be wrong but it sounds like Mike Rosas. The feedback at the start of the song sounds similar in tone to Smile - Staring at the sun.
@@BigtubesGood ear ;-)
@@mistermichaelrosas Thanks Michael.
I was at that gig. Went up with a friend mainly to see Doug. Believe it or not, I sat next to him in math class in high school at that time, he was a super chill guy, and I was floored to see him play that night with so much energy. So sorry to hear he's gone...
I was lucky enough to see then in Rapid City, SD. on this tour. They played a skatepark, and Jon borrowed my skateboard. He slammed in like a second and gave up. RIP Jon. Your voice is missed.
Love Rage, but I do believe this outfit defines ZDLR. So fucking good.
This completely kicks ass! Brian got really good after Minor Threat...he always wanted to play guitar, not bass...
man this band puts heart into hardcore great gives us goose bumps.
bottled water no saint no savior
would you like to give me full lyrics of this song?
nice, grizz!
Who's the krsna kid?
Bahkta Aaron Edge
That'd be me@@mykdmenez
The early 90s was a dark time for HC music. Ashes was one of the few bright spots.
Great to see some footage of this great band. Wish more people knew about them today.
Yes I was there!!! I see me at far end of stage.... Can you please post the rest of the video.. I grab the mike on of the dongs from the x marks the spot comp.... God I was only 16 at best at the time I flew in from New York to visit my uncle and all of the best New York and California bands played that night... Yot, bold insted, upfront etc
The guitarist was going bonkers :)

Wow! More!
kids today don't have the foggiest idea

th-cam.com/video/ZgLnaBNPYkM/w-d-xo.html
maybe the hardcore fans are more into it than the ratm.... more with their heart... but in ratm, zack put so much more content in his songs, since it was MORE songs the whole ratm material is a really important collection with lots of important messages... if u ask me, nothing can beat rage with these lyrics when it comes to importance.
Theresa I recon the lyrical content on the one day as a lion ep zac did back in 08 is full on to but it's not as well known as rage and they only did like 4 studio recorded track's plus a few other track's they only played live. That band would have arguably been just as kick ass as rage if they had of produced more material in my opinion
why da hell did he go to rage against the machine!! i love this
Because he knew this wouldn’t make him a millionaire like RATM would
First ever vid I've seen of them live, please upload more!
Realmente me encantaba Wide awake What a great band Love NyHc
1:22 oh Yeah! indeed :) what t-shirt is he wearing?
Now that's punk rock kids....
