The Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture is deeply committed to creating a just, sustainable, and imaginative future for a rapidly urbanizing planet. Through innovative research and interdisciplinary collaboration, the degree programs in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, and Sustainability in the Urban Environment seek to educate a diverse student body to become engaged professionals, both reflecting and enriching the complex communities of local and global environments. The School acts in the spirit of the City College of New York’s historic Ephebic Oath: “To transmit the city, not only not less, but greater, better, and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us.”

Located in the heart of the vibrant Big Apple, our studio network is a reflection of the dynamic and creative spirit of New York City. Our offerings are as diverse as they come, with endless opportunities for collaboration and interdisciplinary exploration.
Our home is a 135,000-square foot, state-of-the-art building designed by the renowned Rafael Viñoly Architects. Within its walls, you'll find studios, classrooms, offices, the Sciame Auditorium, the Gallery, and the iBean Café, along with cutting-edge digital media labs and maker spaces, including a wood shop, a laser lab, a robotics lab, and a materials lab.
The heart of the building is a stunning 60-foot-high atrium, featuring a gallery on the ground floor, providing the perfect space for inspiration to flow.
The Architecture Library and the J. Max Bond Center for Urban Futures are also integral parts of this architectural haven.
And let's not forget the rooftop, where you'll discover the student-designed and -built Solar Roofpod, a runner-up in the 2011 Solar Decathlon's People's Choice award. It's perched next to an urban farm and a rooftop amphitheater, creating an incredible space for innovation and sustainability.
