Trying to stand out in a brutal job market as a UI/UX Designer in Ghana
The job market right now as a designer is pretty tough. We have to find creative ways to stand out in limited job applications while "competing" with 1000+ other applicants.
In this video, I talk through a case study video walkthrough I created as part of an application for a Gumroad position.
Hope it helps!

Today I'd walk you through my process for redesigning a screen in a mobile app. The app we're working on is called PayUp, a Ghanaian fintech app that allows people send money across continents, create & use virtual cards for subscription & transaction etc. I tried finishing the redesign in under an hour but it look longer than expected. I think the outcome was worth it though. Keep in mind that...

A trip to reset || Akosombo, Ghana
มุมมอง 370ปีที่แล้ว
I took a trip with some friends to Akosombo for the weekend. Left my laptop behind accidentally and I didn't have any cell service. Being completely disconnected from the internet and the outside world, I took the opportunity to reset and have a wonderful time with my friends. Took some shots through out the trip. Looking forward to more! Thanks for watching.

    The most frustrating thing is to think of it from a developer perspective. It becomes super hard to design such things regarding alignment to the grid. 😭😭😭😭

    Great video Daniel, one thing I took from your design process is to always create different component variants to see which one works best... also, I get you're based in Ghana, but are you Nigerian?

    I truly admire your work 💚Can you tell me what tools you use to create animated prototypes of your mockups? I'm an aspiring UX designer currently working on my portfolio, It'd be really helpful. Also, can you make a video on case studies?

      Thanks! I made all the prototypes in Figma. And yes, I’ll add a video on case studies my list.

      @@danielolukoya_ Can you tell me how you made the animated gifs of your prototypes that you added to this video? I've been trying to add my app design prototypes to my case study but couldn't find a way. I need to add animated gifs of my mobile app prototypes so that people can see how the specific action works as you did in this video at the end.

    Nice work bro. Was curious to see how you would how the recent transactions would be displayed. Based on your iteration is the recent transactions a complication of transactions of all different account type ? Is there a way to view recent transaction for just a particular account?

    • @danielolukoya_
      @danielolukoya_ 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks! The idea is to show all transactions on the dashboard page but also to show specific transactions when you click into any of your accounts(the cards).

    This is really good. I feel like keeping the pattern for cards from the existing dashboard would have been great. The shape of the card at least. To add that pre-existing identity and also help user with the slight change and also security reasons
