How do you leave? Well, it’s complex: Stop going to church on Sundays. Maybe leave a voicemail with a Ward leader that you wish to be released from a calling if any. That’s it. It’s not like fleeing North Korea, ladies, unless you need drama. Or martyrdom. No Danite will hide dynamite under your toilet seat. On other hand, enjoy your freedom from tyranny, solution to persecution, to Latter-day Saint entities hiding outside kitchen window and following you to the grocery store.

I really think my childhood would have been way less toxic and painful if my parents had simply joined some more mainstream Protestant church. The racist doctrine issues were a huge source of contention and confusion in my house, as well as the obsessive perfectionism. Some of the dynamics would likely have been unhealthy in any case, but I really believe Mormonism magnified a lot of them. The sexism, the racism, the favoritism of my brother that led to him developing a personality disorder, the sickening obsession with sexuality and very young girls confessing to men - all because we had to be Mormons instead of Methodists or Presbyterians. My parents could never have parented or probably even survived without some kind of religion. I guess I should be thankful the JWs didn’t get us first.

The birth rate for Caucasians in California is only 1.7 which isn't enough, that's why we now have more Latino kids in school than white and as a result California has the worst literacy rate of all 50 States and our educational ranking is now only 40th out of the 50 States. --The law of unintended consequences.

Interesting take for sure and I agree with a lot. I'm 37, and the oldest of 5 children. All my siblings have kids expect for me. I'm the only one of the 5 with a Bachelor's degree but I never wanted kids. I get crap all the time about it but I have 0 desire. Expensive, time-consuming etc. Some people argue that in my old days, who would care for me? Um, I used to volunteer at a nursing home and most people there kids throw them in there and don't visit for years at a time so kids are not guaranteed to be there for you in old age either. Ultimately, it's really up to the individual to do what's right for their life. No universal right or wrong answer for this topic.

It is sad to hear that so many Mormons who have been lied too move from theism to atheism. They never investigate how the existence of God is well supported in science and the Bible is also well supported. God is real and Jesus did die for your sins. Including your unbelief. Mormons who leave Mormonism and become atheists move from one lie to another lie.

3:48 Too bad. She missed the main point here. The point is that you can't tell the difference. And if you can't tell the difference, you don't have knowledge. And knowledge is the foundational pillar that a Mormon testimony is built on. Because if god can't give you knowledge of which church is true, then how could you know? You would be no better off than everyone else in past centuries trying to figure out what's true. Mormons will contrast the founding of their church, a "restoration" (actual visitation from god to Joseph Smith and subsequent revelation to him about how to run the church) with the reformation, which was man's intellect trying to interpret scripture and figuring out what they think god is saying in the bible. So if a Mormon testimony doesn't bring you actual knowledge of Mormon-specific truth claims, then the entire epistemological house of cards falls down, and you realize the whole knowledge-gaining process in the church is just a process to make believers out of people.

Knowledge, liek your church swears up and down that all church leaders magically know "the truth about a person or situation"? Then tell me why does the LDS church keep letting so ma ny pedos who were offending in such matter BEFORE their last interview become Bishops? Heck, there have been registered sex offenders the church has made church leaders, like Michael Adam Davis who your church made a "elders quorum president" and put in charge of little kids. Heck, you just had a few more bishops get in trouble for that last month. to add to the list like: Bishop George William Aaron Bishop Tevita Hoihoi Mounga Bishop John Goodrich Bishop Terry George Allen Bishop James Hayes Bishop Keither richard Price Bishop Scott Dale Owen Bishop Scott Alan Darrington Bishop Douglas Stoddard Bishop Floyd C Jennings Bishop Shawn Tyler Mortensen Bishop Geoffrey James Powell Bishop Marvin Ross Harker Bishop Donnie Rue Boring Bishop Carl Matthew Johnson Bishop Stewart Allsford Bishop Shawn Cory Gooden Bishop Scott Elvin Phister Bishop Geoffrey James Powell Bishop Donald Ray Tolman Bishop Keith Lorraine Gillins Bishop Keith Richard Price Bishop Richard Blaine Sampson Bishop James Hayes Bishop Luis Gonzales Bishop Glendon Templeton Bishop Keith Robert Vallejo Bishop Fleming Westover Bishop James Haskell Bishop George William Aaron Bishop Paul Douglas Burdick Bishop Arlo Kay Atkin Bishop Stewart Allsford Bishop Gordon Brent Bodily Bishop Gary Reese Bishop Allen Brinkerhoff Bishop Charles John "Chuck" Blome Bishop Ron Phelps Bishop David James Gomez Bishop Chester Lewis Meek Bishop Arlo Atkins Bishop Rex Furness Bishop Clerk Bruce A. McAskill Bishop Lon Harvey Kennard Bishop Luis Gonzales Bishop David Maxwell Bishop Paul William Newman Bishop James Denos Bishiop Michael Lynn Bronson Bishop Spencer Dixon Bishop Errol Kent Pilling Bishop Alberto Reyes Bishop Joseph Neipp Nicholas Pierre Faivre Bishop Dylan Kevin Whiting Bishop James Douglas Robinson Bishop David N. Moss Bishop Francis Heber Fuller Bishop Jefferey Head Bishop Steven Berry Bishop Martin Joseph MacNeill Bishop Samuel H. Gardner Bishop Steven Murdock Bishop Todd Michael Edwards Bishop Timothy McCleve Bishop Paul Burdick Bishop Lon Kennard, Sr Bishop Michael Wayne Coleman To name a few. So, either the church is lying about them having the magical power of discernment or else your "god" doesnt know squat. The number of Missionaries that have managed to get caught is in the hundreds, and they all had interviews...so tell me why is it your "god" didnt know what kind of sickos they were?

1:37 _"You chose not to have a relationship with god."_ 1. That's presuming a god exists. 2. You don't choose your beliefs. You become convinced. It is incredibly disingenuous and offensive to misrepresent someone else's beliefs.

Tell me why is it your church preaches against alcohol, tobacco, coffee, porn and all the rest when the church has investments in companies that sell all of the above? I mean you can even buy alcohol in the LDS mall for pity sake and the church recently invested over $700,000 in Dave & Buster's Entertainment Inc...its a bar, to say nothing of all the hotels its invested in that sell it and porn to their rooms. I guess its ok if the "lord" makes money from it? LOL The Church is a complete joke and the leaders know it, thats why they invest in things the "scriptures" warn against Mormon.

I personally get a kick out of how the LDS church was behind the movement to have CBD legalized because it needed it for its Frankenstein drug "Marinol" (which is a synthetic that is billed as a "man-made form of cannabis" that doesn't let you get high because no THC) released, used to treat people who used to just get Marijuana. Yea the church had well over a billion invested in the company Abbott Laboratories that devolved Marinol, got the CBD law passed which enabled its company (and several other pharmaceutical companies that produced it) and then fought like crazy to kill all marijuana legislation. It SAYS its for Marijuana legalization when a doctor is involved but it constantly commands its "saints" to vote against any legislation where Marijuana is ever legalized. yea it has all sorts of horribel side effects including:seizures, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, severe or ongoing nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain;, Severely increased blood pressure among other things that would be horrible for someone who is pain and cant eat due to chemotherapy. But at least a lot of money will go to the LDS church and you wont get high...if you live. One person wriiting about the LDS church using its church to affect legislation wrote in a newspaper "What exactly was motivating them to put so much money and energy into preventing the chronic and fatally ill access to non-toxic botanical cannabis plant? As a patient myself, I want to believe they are motivated by ignorance because it excuses the fact that they are pushing for people like me to suffer needlessly. But, for years I (and others) have hypothesized that the LDS Church may have significant financial holdings in pharmaceutical companies threatened by legalized cannabis and that may be what truly motivates their opposition." and ":I found that not only does the Church have nearly $2 billion tied up in pharmaceutical companies and specifically all the major ones producing and profiting from synthetic cannabinoid drugs" What does the LDS church care about cancer victims it wants money. Horrible crap this cult does.

What happens is that the religious critical thinking follows into the Christianity... just try watching Rabbi Tovia Singer talk about Isaiah 7. Joseph Smith Jr didn't do anything that the writers of the Biblical scrolls didn't do with the original Jewish material. Then you follow that through Dr Joshua Bowen and the epic of Gilgamesh to realize Judaism just ripped Gilgamesh to write about Noah. That desire to really know and not be dupped again is a big reason Mormons turn to the Bible with scripulosity and come to really appreciate Dr Bart Erhman's work.

Please stop acting like you have anything to say on this topic, you’re very much just twisting information to fit your preconceived narrative. As to your point, science is separate from religion in the notion that science is irrefutably data driven conclusions on the back of endless scrutiny from your peers. Religion, ultimately, is a matter of faith. Both have their value to society but people like you enjoy muddying the definitions in some weird combination of ego and ignorance. Of course science has explanations and rationalizations to man’s inner conflict. Anywhere from stress psychology to the entire concept of “self actualization” proves that science has tried tirelessly to answer questions on man’s desire to feel “whole.” It just happens that science tends to deal with what’s measurable, the “how” or the “what” of a matter. On the other hand philosophy and religion deal with questions of human nature, morality, and existence. You’re basically shaking your fist at a toaster for not being a dishwasher when you complain about science not investigating questions of self fulfillment. You either want “science to be a religion” or you don’t want them to talk about these things. Pick a side and stop being dumb. TL;DR: you’re painfully ignorant on what science is and you act qualified to talk about shit you obviously know nothing about.

I really appreciate this woman's openness about her background and what she went through. I do disagree with where this path has taken her in the sense that I think she threw the baby out with the bathwater. About half of the people who leave the LDS church become atheist because they have been burned by the church and vaguely have the belief that if the LDS church is not true then nothing can be true. But it does not logically follow that. Just because the LDS church is a lie that there is no God. I think the evidence for a created universe in the existence of God is pretty strong in the historical evidence concerning Jesus Christ is also strong.

Why would anyone want to leave or even to encourage anyone to leave the Lord's church?

Because its: Racist, Fake, greedy, exposes kids to sexual abuse, lied to its members about tithing, was fined by the sec for lying to it, has investments that sell things it preaches against like alcohol, it highly abusive to women and children...the list goes on and on. Maybe you shoudl actually watch the videos you comment on instead of being a mormon troll trying to bully people back into the cult.

Yea they figure out the leaders cant see into the future like the church says they can. Protip: The 13, greedy old white men at the top of the also dont have any of the other magical powers the church swears they do, like reading any other language (as the church says is a magical power of all "prophets, seers and revelators") as well as they cant magically look at someone and "know the truth about a person or situation" like the church says on their website.

@@frankszulakiewicz5826 I can see i am talking to another Mormon who doesn't have much int eh way of reading ability. I clearly said, "he swears his leaders has magic powers " I used really small words, just for you. Its not my fault you can't read. No, your inability to comprehend what is written at the 4th grade level doesn't amaze at all Mormon, I find it sad so many LDS have such low education levels.
