I have a 1963 international scout 80 also and I noticed your 1963 scout looks different because it looks more like a 64 or 65. Examples are 61-63 there is no electric plugs in firewall, all wiring goes through firewall with grommets. 1961-62 has sliding door windows and 1963+ has roll down windows. 1961-63 has heater on drivers side fender with tubes and cables to open vents, heater flow switch, defrost with big black box with 2 tubes to connect the tubes to. 1964 and 65 has the heater on passenger fender and heater door box under dashboard. 1961-63 for knobs on dashboard should be L lights, V vent, D defrost, if equipped T throttle, C choke, F fan, H heater, D defrost, and V vent. 1964-65 dashboard knobs are L lights, if equipped T throttle, C choke, heater/fan switch all in one switch with bezel for instructions, and lever on heater box under dashboard for defrost/vent.

What drillbit are you using? It took me 30 minutes to get one bolt out. Looks good.

I have a Ram 3500. Looking at adding a Gladiator. The diesel Gladiator is what I’ll be looking for. I bought my Ram new. Now it’s a completely different diesel. However it has almost 300,000 miles on it. I have had zero repairs on it. I just do the basic maintenance on the regular intervals. I have deleted it, which I think has been a factor of it doing so well. However diesels are far better in quality and reliability than gas engines in my experience.

Are those the factory flares with a trim job or are those aftermarket?

If you plan to drive it, then who cares if it has some rust. Not all cars are worth making into a show car. Highly doubt the car would return a profit if that was the goal anyways. What you're doing is good quality work in my opinion. Those sections will last a lot longer now that they have clean solid metal. If I was in the market for a scout, I would have no issues purshasing the car with the work I've seen you do.

I have a 2021 Wrangler Unlimited Sport with the EcoDiesel engine. I have have owned it for 3 years and have 53,000 miles on it. It has been a good, solid, reliable engine with great low rpm torque for offroad driving without having to up the rpms to go up a hill. It has plenty of power to drive up steep mountain grades on the highway with minimal downshift. I can put it in cruise control and go down steep mountain grades without hitting the brakes. I drove it for a year without any modifications except to put on offroad all terrain tires and then put a 2 1/2 inch lift and 33 inch tires. I averaged 25 mpg the first year and have averaged 22 mpg the last 2 years. It is my only vehicle but it is not a daily driver. Town is 13 miles away so when I go to church on Sunday or drive in for groceries, I am driving 20 miles one way. I drive it in the desert for offroad adventures. I have driven it to both coasts and from the the north border to the south border. I change the oil and filter every 5 to 6 thousand miles. I change the air filter and fuel filter earlier than the recommended intervals. In other words, I maintain the Jeep so it will last. Oh, and I, have an air compressor so I can lower and raise the tire pressure when I go offroad to minimize the impact of rocks and bumps off the tires and suspension. Gas or diesel, if you take care of your vehicle, it will take care of you. I love my Wrangler EcoDiesel and will be keeping it for many more years.

I had a diesel Liberty, loved it. I did get used to the check engine light being frequently but it ran fine. EGR was the culprit with it.

Getting ready to have both mine done tomorrow. Grandpa just had his down about a month ago good so far.

Have had My 2020 Wrangler EcoDiesel 4 years and at 96k miles. Never an issue. Recall for 2 years on fuel pump but backordered and Just had my first Particulate filter warning. That went away in 2 days of driving. Absolutely love the 3.0 and wish they kept it.

The more watch you work on your scout, it gives me hope. My 62 scout has some rust and hasn’t ran since 1984.

I'm enjoying the videos. Great to see old beauty's come back to life. My wife and myself recently purchased a 1971 800b. We are working on getting the title. My good friend ran the VIN number. It turns out it is a true snow star model. It's rusty but still in great shape. We are going to restore it inch by inch to as close to factory as possible. The only thing it doesn't have is the snow blade. Everything else is there. Looking forward to more of your videos. Good luck

What exhaust system you have

The floor pan looks good.

That hole that you dont know what it was; it looks like it's where the seat mount was. I don't know much about scouts, but I had to weld in the seat mouts for more current project and they kind of look like that hump.

You can see the dent was caused by a collision at the bottom front of the fender, if you jacked and removed the wheel you could have used a scissor jack or even a bumper jack between the front suspension and the bottom of the fender and when there was enough tension on the fender just tap the raised crown down, no need for drilling holes and slide hammer.. I mean if you had a hydraulic ram and hand pump it would be even easier. Thanks for the video.
