This is a 2012 Ram 1500 Big Horn 4x4 in the video. It helps to have a rubber mallet for bumping wrenches.

PZ-27 carb throttle cable install
มุมมอง 42K6 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a new carburetor and cable. I pulled the needle guide you see out first and greased the slideway tube and guide with a light skin; it can be a little catchy (aluminum on aluminum) otherwise. I used a one screwdriver and 90° needle nose pliers. Getting the alignment of the needle guide right can be tricky, but at least it's simple.

    Does the valve needle go under or over the V spring?

      1:15 the spring clips onto the needle cap and locates the throttle cable

    How am I take off from the motorcycle? The cable? Should I unloose it?

    • @steelmonger9541
      @steelmonger9541 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has to be taken off from the handle bar, or you have to take apart the top of the carburetor while it's still hanging from the cable

      It's a new carburetor. If yours isn't, the threads probably have oxide locking them

      @@fernierodriguez3838 I have the same exact problem. I just ordered a new carb with a throttle cable included and hopefully this will resolve my problem. How did you end up resolving the issue on your end? When I got aggressive with my current/old cable, I messed it up so I had no choice but to order a new one.

    • @fernierodriguez3838

      @@cgarcialara I haven't yet i looked online and finally found a place that sells vintage parts for quads & dirt bikes they have a huge plastic box mixed with probably 250-300 throttle cables some are complete some are just The cable itself i found 1 cable pure cable it was just 1.5 inches longer and the new cap. I also found what was the outside covering of a throttle cable and had the metal curved tube like my Original. I tried the new big cap on the end of tube where it goes and popped in with little twisting and pushing force and same to get it off i was happy then ran cable inside and put it on now the thumb throttle wasn't adjusted correctly wouldn't pull back the tension like before. So i removed everything put back on original throttle cable with cap. Called some places and ordered a new OEM one thats supposed to fit and be exactly like the original one. I haven't gone to pick it up i will exactly later today and install maybe tomorrow or in the next 2-3 days

    Hello, where you get the cable?

    • @steelmonger9541
      @steelmonger9541 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I bought mine on EBAY, for a Honda TRX250 because it's the closest cable size still made for my rare Hi-Bird. I had to modify my cable (cut and crimp) These carbarators are on many things

      aurelio candelario the rubber intake and band clamp go on slip spline side that I had a plastic cap on here

      Steel Monger I'm referring to the clamp that goes inside the throttle cylinder it looks like a v with both ends curved ^v^

    • @steelmonger9541
      @steelmonger9541 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      aurelio candelario They put that down inside the spring and guide lip, across the cable slot to block movement as a double safety to keep the cable from slipping across the slot and jamming at the edge. But the coil spring tension does that anyway. I didn't use it
