It’s so funny how many people think recording another person is illegal. I’ve sued 2 companies by recording conversations of myself and my manager. The state I live in is a one consent state. Most states are one consent states. If one person consents to the recording, even if that’s you, it’s completely legit.

I record ALL calls, incoming, and outgoing. I keep all emails/texts/notes/etc. I'm not about to be thrown under the bus for some wanna-be sly co-worker that I ONLY deal with because I have to work with them. I also record in office conversations becauee NOPE! Im not the damn one! When i say document everything, i sure as hell me EVERYTHING! Meets with the big bosses? Recorded as well. Not today.

This happened to me. A client was left in a residential home alone. This client should never be left alone due to mental disabilities. When I wrote in document about this, I was told to rewrite paperwork so it doesn't state they were alone because it was a manager who left them alone. When I reported it to higher up, that manager who left them alone wanted to talk to me. I asked for support to be with me during conversation because of the power dynamics of situation. Then I was told that I would not be targeted or singled out about my report and there would be no need for support. I ended up being Sat down...and very clearly targeted. I recorded conversation of management targeting me and demanding I rewrite paper work. I refused and they ripped out log and covered up. Took my hours, psychological coercion acted on work retaliation. I never saw Justice.... In human services field you expect ethics and integrity. This organization is the most toxic work experience of my life that I still feel the lasting effects of the manipulation and pressure they put me under. There were things that I was vulnerable about that I shared with management, that they ended up using to demean me " put me in my place"
Mandatory meetings are required by law to be paid. If they don't want to pay you, it is, by law, voluntary.
Just ask for it in writing so u could send it to HR n watch how fast they shut the fuck up.
My husband just went through this last week at a new job. Except that an attorney also added in calling him "Bitch" in a text. He sent that on to HR and the COO along with other things he had been documenting over the few weeks he had been working with her. And now he doesn't have to deal with her anymore and the head office is looking into that whole part of the firm lol
As manager of over 30 years I make sure everyone gets paid for doing work.. be it a meeting, training, inventory, cleaning, whatever... you are working or doing anything for the business you get paid...no exceptions.

Depends on which state they are in. Some states require consent from both parties for a recording. Veronica may have committed a crime.
I had this happen once..and only a handful of people showed up to early meetings and they tried to use threats and corrective actions but for some reason never went past “verbals” . Haha then one day all the managers in the group were no longer there and we never had meetings outside of regular hours unless we got paid OT and also agreed to it.
I would record everything & say " i have tinitus & cantbtrust what my hears hear"
