Nice looking pavements and public areas. Surfaces are something else than boring asfalt which Helsinki seems to love. Way ahead of Helsinki on that matter

Had a trip a number of year's ago to Finland, absolutely loved it. There's just a such a calm and pleasant atmosphere. It's one of the country's that leading the way in my opinion on many social issues and hence coming out on top of the happiness index. Other countries should look to Finland as an example. (I'm looking at you Russia!) 😐 My own country, Ireland, could learn a lot too. We can be quite reactionary and there's very much a cultural hierarchy with a lot of social divisions and homelessness.

Many thanks for posting this. 40 years ago I lived in Kauniainen, very near Uimahalli. I went back this year for the first time since for a look around. I loved it then and now.

Here you can see a perfect example of the worst kind of city planning imaginable. You just have a few crappy buildings here and there, surrounded by woodlands / forest / wasteland. The new area isn't really connected to anything. The buildings are pretty much like bunkers and they resemble a prison wall towards the streets. Don't really have any places for shops etc. You just have these areas where people sleep and stay indoors because outside is just so depressing and you pretty much have to have a car since the whole area is maybe 400 meters across. The population density isn't enough to sustain any livable atmosphere at all. I think Finland has the worst cities in the World, I guess that's an achievement. It's also way too cold to hand around outside anyways 10 months of the year. You can see there's nobody there and there will never bee anyone outside because there's just a few blocks and it's surrounded by just trees and you cannot even extend the streets so it will stay like this for the next 70-80 years.

Man, I was wondering if anyone was this type of video from koivukyla and holy shit, you almost walked past my grandma's home! Damn, the nostalgia hit me. Haven't been there in maybe over 10 years. Yet so little has changed.
