After a few weeks of sub-par weather, just needed a reminder of how good the West Coast is.

An easy overnighter. Even easier if you have a high-stud vehicle that can make it to Seven Mile Creek. Got to the hut with plenty of time to have Ginger Bear and chippies, with a nice warm fire.

Access is via Harold Creek at around 140m. Summit is 1245m. An easy to follow but under-utilised route to the tops that passes through a fairytale forest along the way.

Great vid …. I did a similar trip but in reverse …. South Temple, South Huxley, North Huxley, Broderick Pass, Creswick Flat, Kea Flat, Elcho Pass, Elcho Hut, and back to Hopkins road end…. Day from Bushline camp to Elcho Hut was epic with about 300mm of rain that day! Route up to Elcho Pass from Landsborough was much more challenging than expected, otherwise travel was good. An awesome area!!
nice outing/ nice clip… gorgeous NZ backcountry, never tire of it.
Beautiful scenery, looked fun, but a bit beyond my level!!
Looks like a cool trip. And great weather!!
I'll take a ride there!
Epic tramp including advanced route finding skills to get your lines right. well done. Music, a cover of the Roxy Music / Bryan Ferry hit, More Than This, excellent choice.
😊 "promo sm"
Great sound track
Cool. Just did the same myself, opposite direction. Unfortunately clouds rolled in approaching summit.
Great video of a fantastic part of NZ :)
