Branch played nickel his entire rookie season so that adjustment is pretty seamless. Robertson is feisty as they come and he was an outside corner his entire time with the Raiders but he does give up a lot as far height goes to Jefferson. Coach had no choice but to move Robertson outside and slide Branch into the slot because Vildor, the prime backup now that Rakestraw is out is worse than a bum. The guy should have been cut after getting lit up like a Roman candle in the playoffs last season but for whatever reason he's one of Campbell's guys and like he showed with Cabinda, once he gets a soft spot in his heart for a player who ought to be doing something else for a living he gets a soft spot in his head and he keeps the loser around. As far as the D-line goes, Reader was totally gassed against Frisco and Smith got a few pressures in the backfield but he didn't do much with em. He's the one who has to step up because Pachal is what he has been since he was over drafted in the second round, a bum. Same goes for Onwuzurike who was supposed to have some sort of breakout season now that he is finally healthy after three wasted years on IR. And don't even get me started on Baby Huey Martin. Taking a guy with a seventh round grade the third round was a head scratcher from the word go and trading draft picks to do it was flat out stupid. Holmes has done a great job building this roster but that kid will go down as possibly his worst draft pick ever. The guy showed up out of shape and he's still the size of a highway overpass, and about as nimble. When they do put him out there he gets shoved around like a high school sophomore. That's why losing McNeil hurt so much. Losing Hutch hurt but they were dealing with it. Losing Mac sealed their fate. Glenn better blitz a ton because if he doesn't Darnold will have 10 seconds or more to look around. But I still believe in my Lions. Yeah, the defense is held together with bailing wire and bubble gum but that offense is special. Saint, Jamo, Gibbs, LaPorta, all those guys are pro-bowl caliber players and I'll take Goff over Darnold all-the-live-long-day. Whoever has the ball last wins this one. Gruden's right. Take the over even if it hits 70. This is gonna be a shootout of epic proportions.

sadly the coaches and players snubbed kirby of a pro bowl pick. bunch of pansies cant handle a new gen hard hitting saftey. they loved rodney harrison giving ppl cte but dont like a guy who tackles low because the rules force him to.

If both teams were fully healthy, it wouldn't even be close. But that's football. Gotta stay healthy.

I obviously have a shred of the knowledge Gruden has if that, but this is my 2 cents. Detroit's defense can't stop the Vikings offense. The only way they do is if Minnesota shoots themselves in the foot. On the other hand, the Vikings are *GOING* to force at bare minimum one, probably multiple, turnovers. The Lions have their work cut out for them. Vikings have arguably better coaching, a significantly better defense, equal QB play, and equally dangerous weapons if not more dangerous on offense

I CAN'T believe that I just found Gruden's channel two weeks ago! I subscribed to a dozen football channels and the algorithm never popped Gruden for me until two weeks ago! 🤬 I'm up for the season but damn I could be way up had I had Gruden's analysis all season!

It’s funny how much these fanbases respect each other. In my opinion, if the Vikings get eliminated from the playoffs then I’m hoping the Lions go all the way and win their first.
