5 Unique Things To Look For When Hiring The PERFECT REALTOR® - Home Buying Edition
I grew up near Milwaukee and now live in the northwest part of the state. As far as winter goes, I can say the farther away from Lake Michigan you go, the more sunlight you get- I feel like the lake grabs all the clouds and hangs onto them for days. It may be colder temperatures on the western side but we get more sunlight.
When it comes to personal rights Wisconsin has always been at the forefront. People in Wisconsin have a very strong belief in letting people live the way they want to live. Even if they don't agree with it they still support your rights. It was never illegal hear to have a biracial marriage as it was in many states. WI was often the first or one of the first states to pass laws supporting personal rights. Wisconsin used to be a strong union state, it's the birthplace for employees providing insurance for employees. It's also the birthplace of kindergarten. Sadly in the past 20 years a lot of outsiders have immigrated to Wisconsin and forced themselves into positions of power and now they're doing their best to change Wisconsin from a state of the people to a state of the corporation. I do not have hope for the future.
Wisconsin is one of the Best States!!!!!
The biggest thing to know while in Wisconsin is that their 3 neighboring states can't drive! Illinois forget their pulling a boat, Iowans pull surprise U turns, and MN shouldn't touch a steering wheel!
Dude, quit running you mouth about how good it is in Wisconsin! You don't want people from other parts of the US moving in!!!
@@Rockgod32 😂😂😂 hey all are welcome!
Wisconsin “culture “ is unattractive, over weight people who must be constantly entertained by lame attractions. If they have nothing to do they will gossip about neighbors, coworkers, even family.
Maple Bluff and Shorewood
@@hodag great areas that I’ll sadly never be able to afford 😂
Moved from Michigan to here 3 years ago and live the area it was a great move.
I lived in Sault St. Marie in the early 80s and it was the 2nd most depressing place I ever lived. Muscatine IA was the most depressing place. MI is beautiful, incredibly beautiful but the people just do not seem happy.
I moved my family to Fond du lac in 1996. Was treated like shit. Ended up having a nervous breakdown.
Fond du Lac is a terrible city. I worked there for awhile in the early 80s, I hated it. The people there are not friendly at all and the town is so rinky dink. it still looks about same now as it did then. They have that state patrol headquarters there, those guys are not the least bit nice. They got some kind of king of the hill attitude. It's too bad you had that experience many cities and towns are very welcoming.
Were grass-fed beef farmers in North Central Wisconsin. Were selling our farm and moving 15 miles south of our farm. 🤣We live in Mennonite /Amish area...
If you enjoy woke politics and liberal government, Madison may be for you. Rentals highly priced and a severe rental shortage, hard to qualify for. Bring lots of cash or you will be sleeping on the sidewalk..
@@KennKamp-sv2xh I touch on all of that in my “Reasons NOT to move to Madison” video
Yes, the temperature is that bad. You must not work outside. Im in the Eau Claire area. I've worked outside in -30 wind chill well below that.
@@shawnshurtz9147 Fair
There is a Cuban DJ in Miami that refers to your state as, "Whitesconsin",
It has changed a lot. I'd say the bottom half of the state is very diverse. Up north it's mostly white people but there are African Americans and some Asians. I grew up 35 miles from Green Bay in a small town that was mostly white but did have a small Mexican population, 1 Korean woman and 1 Filipino woman both war brides. There were also a good amount of Jews in my town but I never met or talked to a black person until I was 18 and going to college in Milwaukee. A few years later a black man named Tony moved to our town and it was big news.
@@lennybuttz2162 I live in Ft Lauderdale which is as diverse as it comes. For 20 years I worked for a company where 2/3 of the employees were born in another country. I think it made us stronger as it forced everyone to deal with the other's "uniquenesses". I always say it is harder to hate a group of people when you know them personally! My parents are from southeastern Ohio (on the West Virginia border). Everyday I am grateful they moved us to Florida; I can't imagine what my life would be if I grew up there! I can't fathom how you deal with the winters! I cry when it gets below 70! GOD BLESS THE USA!!!!!
@@jamesquivey1538 I can see that being a positive experience. I grew up with people from many different countries also. I heard many different accents and listened to a lot of interesting stories. Most of them were from Northern Europe.
It has a great LGBTQ scene as well
In from Massachusetts and seriously thinking about noving to WI and this video made me want to more. Already a Packers fan too
@@metalschrammer69 Love to hear! Gotta get you to Lambeau if you haven’t been already
@@joshbrosthomes that would be my first stop for sure
@ it’s magical especially in the winter
If you grew up in a big city I don't think you'll like it hear unless you move to Madison. Even Milwaukee as big as it is has a small town attitude. We have had a bad history with people from the east coast most people probably don't remember it but if you move to a smaller town it's going to take them a long time to warm up to you. If you have that snobby accent people will be polite but they're not going to like you. The winters are much more harsh than you're used to having.
@@lennybuttz2162 Madison has a WAY smaller town feeling that Milwaukee does. East coast gets some really rough winters too, and I think a lot of people here aren’t going to hate someone for where they came from or how they sound. Depends on the person I guess.
Yah..hey dere…how’s she goin’? If you wore out your welcome in the other 49 states, and you’re not crazy about possibly living in North Korea, then, and only then, I suggest you consider living in that vast wasteland, otherwise known as ‘The Other Mistake By The Lake’… Don’t forget to bring your Koozie, your brat shish kabob sticks, and your cribbage board…..
From Milwaukee love Wisconsin 😊
Before there was Toyota......there was AMC 🤣
Parking sucks in Madison!!! Crime is growing quickly. Expensive.
Also the politics.

Why, because you say so=get over yourself SFB
Great video! Can you describe allergy season(s) in Wisconsin and does it bother you? Thanks!
@@feija77 hey! Me personally, I notice allergies primarily during two seasons. Spring and fall. I think right now I’m actually experiencing a bit of allergies, but it’s definitely a thing here with the change of seasons
Great job 👏
I live in Madison its really nice except crime is really bad and most parts of the city are really sketchy and dangerous.
@@EJMMXII appreciate the input! I’d have to disagree with that. Madison consistently ranks as one of the safest cities in the U.S. Like any “big” city, it’ll have certain spots, but most areas of Madison are quite safe when comparing to other cities of similar sizes
@@joshbrosthomes the "safest" parts of the city are downtown and even time to time theres a shooting or another pretty bad crime in the area. and most of the time when they say Madison is safe they mean the Madison Metropolitan Area.
@@EJMMXII Everyone's idea of "safe" is different, but I think the stats and data back up the fact that Madison is overall a safe city when you look at other cities similar in size
I want to leave hot Texas an move to Madison or the state of Maryland. Soon as I hear how safe it is then you see all the comments of how it's not. Lawd I guess I have to come see for myself
@@chosengirl3101 that’s truly the only way!
It’s beautiful during the summer. The winters are awful and the people are very… quirky. It’s not like the rest of Wisconsin at all. The jobs don’t pay enough and the housing market is absolute garbage. You’re not getting a home anywhere near the actual city for under 700,000
Hello from Baraboo, Wisconsin
Hi, we are coming for the Alabama/Wisconsin football game and will be arriving in Madison on Thursday Sept 12th. We want to eat at a restaurant that is very "Wisconsin" Badger-y. Any suggestions? Or I would like to experience polka... any suggestions? Thank you!
Definitely need to go to the Nitty Gritty or Dotty’s Dumpling Dowry. Or State Street Brats. All three are exactly what you’re looking for!
Mickies dairy bar!
How is turtle Lake Wisconsin? I’ve gotten a job offer there.
Honestly I don’t know much about Turtle Lake or that part of the state, but looks like a great location. Close enough to Minneapolis but definitely will be a small town feel out that way
best state in the union, great video Josh !
May move there eventually. Best places neat Nehaah
Are you looking for “city” or more rural? Neenah itself is great. Can feel a bit congested at times for how big the city is.
@@joshbrosthomes I am not sure. I’ve lived in very small cities for years. Then my husband bought a house very remote. He passed and I really need to be near stores, drs, stuff like that without a lot of traffic. My daughter is in Neenah. So other places close to that would be best
@@CherylJune I’d checkout these places: Kaulauna, Kimberly, Harrison, Menasha, Appleton, Greenville
@@joshbrosthomesthank you
Lets go, need the cabinet reveal!!
Going to try and post that episode next week. Stay tuned!!

The long awaited return
Way way way, too liberal in the 77 square miles surrounded by reality!
Originally from Wisconsin! Miss it immensely, especially the season changes & having a basement!
Almost every home in WI has a basement so I grew up thinking it was like that all over America. I was really shocked when I was talking to someone from out wets and mentioned their basement. They didn't even know what a basement was!
Are there many blks there?
🤫
It would help I think if you had copies of the restaurants menus to show to the camera as your referencing these places. Just a suggestion. My son is there now for political reasons and I hope he gets a good meal. Do you have food trucks in Madison?
Thanks for the suggestion! Yes there are always some food trucks down on state street. I wish we had a designated area with 15-20 food trucks daily, but I don’t think we have that.
I just love Wisconsin.
I would love to move there from germany right now.
Come on over, many people still speak German
Don’t forget the Badgers.
Grew up in rhinelander wi for most of my life. My family moved alot but i have lived in The u.p, stevens point, Minocqua, st. Germain, and eagle river. I was born in walworth county wi. Everything you said in this video is very accurate!
I spent the first thirty years of my life in Wisconsin, but currently live abroad in the southern part of South Korea. I've seen people from other countries complain they've never experienced winters this cold before. To explain, the winters in my city usually average around the upper 30s/40F in the day and upper 20s/30F at night. An extremely cold night would be in teens fahrenheit. This is considered too cold for them. What I'm getting at is states like Minnesota or the Dakotas might have worse winters. But if you tell someone that's used to warmer temperatures that winters in Wisconsin are "not that bad" you are setting them up for quite a shock.
When I was a kid we lived in the upstairs of a house. It didn't have central heating, we had a heater in the dining room that was it. My room was a ways from the dining room. My windows always had thick layers of ice on them in the winter. The window would blow through and move the curtain over my closet doorway which always scared me. The air would be so cold in the morning when I woke up I could see my breath. We sure didn't have any carpeting either. I had to put my bare feet on that icy linoleum floor and run as fast as I could to bathroom then stand on tip toes until I finished my business. LOL Still today when I hear a cold whistling wind mixed with blowing snow it lulls me right to sleep.
Nope nope nope I hate this place
What is a good area in Wisconsin to live in? I have a job opportunity to move and want to know a safe neighborhood for raising a family
It depends where your job opportunity is at. If it is in the Milwaukee, or even the Madison area, you might consider Walworth County where you can find Lakes Geneva, Delavan and Como, and whole bunch of smaller lakes, and the communities of Lake Geneva, Walworth, Fontana, Williams Bay, Whitewater, Elkhorn and Delavan. Whitewater is the largest with about 10,000 people and a university that's part of the Wisconsin system. The area is low crime and has outstanding schools. It is a little pricey, but if that job you're going to pays well, you might want to check out Walworth County.
I moved here in 2006 and I fell in love with Madison, Wisconsin- It was tough starting out all by myself with absolutely no family but now I am doing really well
You live in Madison and didn't mention Badger football when talking sports.
I live in Green Bay, it's a pretty decent place to live.
I love Madison Wisconsin
Worst drivers in the US.
If you want to buy a snowmobile there is always one for sale out in the country here in southern Wisconsin because the winters down here don't really get very much snow anymore. If you are over sixteen unless you are good at sports you pretty much don't exercise for the rest of your life LOL. I remember leaving the state for ten years after high school and seeing pictures of friends in the newspaper and seeing how fat they had gotten in just a few years...of course I have caught up.
