"Pastors wife and her 20 kids" sis you could not have said it better! I left church 2 years back. I can agree and attest to all these experiences you guys have gone through. Thankfully i have my own relationship with God and it truly strengthened me to come out of those toxic churches. Been to more than just 2 church and gotta say 95% of these churches are messed up, religious and legalistic. And the fake perfection amd high standards, i can't stand it! Its just their way of judging. We felt so controlled all the time. And we had to give up our privacy and they just don't know to respect boundaries. Thank God he took me and my family out of those places. We have a better and live relationship with God than those "i have to go to church every Sunday" kinda fake Christians. Keep the good work up! I left my church for a much simpler reason. The sheer boredom. The workshop services, small group sessions, and prayer meetings completely suck the soul out of me. Every Sunday morning I feel like being given a to-do list with warnings for not doing them. From my observation, the people in the back are sound alseep most of the time. And they are huge on repentance. They even repent for things that don't matter that much. The atmosphere is so serious, and that gives me a hard time making friends there. The youth group is close to being dead by now I think.

The church I was raised in was an Assembly of God church called Trinity 🤣 goodness was it so legalistic while at the same time being hypocritical and hiding things behind closed doors. Thankfully my parents tried to protect me and my siblings from it as much as they could but they couldn’t hide everything. I related to Athina’s journey! I resented the church and the people there for years and I really had to find my own relationship with Christ as an adult and discovering the Gospel later. “Working backwards” like Athina said was what I had to navigate. It’s amazing how freeing discovering Christ in His word has done in my life over the years. Now I go to a church where the pastor teaches to his congregation instead of preaches at us and actually compliments my pink hair and tattoos 🤣 Thank you ladies for sharing your hearts!! 💯💯 there’s no perfect church… we are all broken sinners after all lol I was clapping and saying yes queens while listening to you two chat!

I always think about how much my daughter looks like me. What does that say to her if I change my whole face? There's a few women that have the ant body with an alien face on IG calling their little girls their "twins" and it makes my heart just crumble into a million pieces.

Vans mesh running shoes are the best water shoes ive ever used. Im in the river a lot that has lots of quarts and river rock... barefoot will get you cut. I started wearing them instead of water shoes because water shoes are awful and embarrassing 😅 they dry quick. Love.
