Hey everyone! Here is my attempt at TH-cam and showing off a little of what I have accomplished in my HO Scale Hobby. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
I am a Locomotive Engineer with Canadian Pacific, my hobby didn't start because of my job, my Dad got me into it when i was just a little guy! I'll try to keep updates coming as I progress! Thanks for checking out my channel!

Hey everyone! I am actually quite happy with this one (audio wise), I literally haven't been into gaming since Reach, or World of Tanks. I'd wake up with my boy early, he was just a baby at the time, and we'd play World of Tanks on my xBox 360! Sure I don't ever play to win, I was a complete noob. But holy hell was I glad to have that time at home with my boy. Here we are starting out the day w...

Hey everyone! I have been snooping for a bit on the Google play store and found (in my opinion) a wicked sand box train game that I want to share with you! Being that I am a LEGIT locomotive engineer (fake it 'till you make it), I find this game fairly realistic and worth your while, including mine! Hence why I am sharing it with you. Hopefully I can contact the developers of this game, it has ...

Hey everyone! I sold my Royal Hudson, guess that means I should buy a regular Hudson 😅 here she is, 2810, in all her glory, running on dirty track (the MoPower caps don't work in my opinion). Got a big order in from the OVR as they have some wicked pricing, more to come 😁
New MOTORS for my Genesis Geeps! Was it worth it???
มุมมอง 8692 หลายเดือนก่อน
Hey everyone! This is a re-uploaded version of yesterday's video,in true railroader fashion I totally forgot to edit in a 'before' comparison shot, as well added some extra length to the pictures I included, to better explain them and myself, and to remove a TON of uhh's and ahh's, I really try not to get hung up on those filler words! So was it worth the money to swap the motors? I'm not sure,...

hey everyone, we should probably have a quick chat about what's been going on the last few months... literally nothing, work, supra, family, life in general. I did however get a few things in, so let's have a look!
Extra Yard
มุมมอง 3879 หลายเดือนก่อน
hey everyone! we've reached our finale of my four part mini series! we start off the day following the Extra Yard switcher called to deal with some overflow traffic and to make room for today's Campbell Turn but before they start the west end of the yard needs to be clear... even though I feel like I put a lot of thought and effort into this little project I definitely could've done better with...

If only you could have used these for C46….. 🤣
Ha!
What game is this?
Trains and railroads, I found it while snooping through the Google play store 👍
Sigma pops ❤❤❤
Just call me Dadiplier my rizzler 💪
@ lol ok
Please tell me what map this is
Just the basic map the game gives you, plus my track design 💪
You need to change the power. The power your working is ALCO S2 or S4 with a 539 prim mover and not a GMD 567
I figured out how to email the developer, and I suggested the addition of more locos, hopefully he can do that for us, because I am a sucker for SD40-2's 👌 Maybe the addition of better sound files...should be 'easy' if they could get ESU on board 🫡
Cool locomotive
She is gorgeous! Now I just need some track 😅
how do you wire it to the main circuit exactly? I have this turntable and I have a dcc layout but I'm stumpt as far as wiring it to the layout. Is there a special circuit board or something I need to add to it to fix any possible polarity issues?
There are a couple ways, but I used a very simple AR1 auto reverse circuit from Digitrax, running your main power bus to the AR1 and then the turn table power leads to the AR1, I believe you can also use a SPDT toggle switch if you would prefer manual circuit reversing 👌
@@MAYNE_line ok thank you very much for the info
I live in another country and did not know that rapido made locomotives . I only see their ads for cars.
Interesting! I have several of their loco models, RS18, FA2, FB2, D10, E8, to name a few including several rolling stock models in the transitional era of steam and diesel, as well as the modern era. If you are able to it's definitely worth looking into, well worth the investment, Rapido has incredible customer service and warranty 👍
very nice engine, looks much better live than on a drawing! I got my 2816 just because I rod it in 2004 :)
I had an order in for the 2816 but unfortunately I just couldn't afford it, so I spoiled myself with this one 👍
Beautiful model!
Thank you sir!
Maybe its the bogie gears that are noisy?
It very well could be, I have not had any time to look into it, but I'll for sure start cutting traction motors out and see what happens 👌 that's usually what the shops tell us to do 😜
Why would you swap an open frame for another open frame? The object of re-motoring is to use a can motor for better performance. Cheers from eastern TN
If you can find me a can motor that drops in, I'm all for it! Until then, I'll try a few things that I know 'work', even if they don't, it's all part of this wonderful hobby we're in haha
so I am curious, what are your wicked speakers ? and yes Bowser have the script sd40 for pre-order now , saw them on OVR :)
They are very old (now) and very big compared to the sugar cube speakers we use now haha but they are Railmaster Hobbies DSM-8, they fit perfectly inside the Kato shells, I used them any chance I could! I went and checked their website too, I can't believe how long it took for Bowser to figure these out, I remember I had pre orders in, must have been 4+ years ago! I also saw they have BLI script GP35's...oh boy lol
@@MAYNE_lineScale Sound Systems is the shit!
Good to see your still doing videos. Hope to see you unbox empress soon.
Haha thanks dude! Can't believe it's been four months since I last uploaded! But I have really been putting my head down and just grinding away at work, trying to get caught up on everything, before Christmas. Unfortunately I cancelled my empress orders, but if I can still swing one, I'll hit up the OVR, they seem to have some great pricing even with shipping out west here, I need to get my hands on the new rapido 40' box cars too... Bowser RS3 should be here next month?
@@MAYNE_line both the steam and rs units are in. Same with the box cars. There is limited amounts on the steam so act fast. Don’t want you to miss out
Oh really? Interesting. I haven't heard anything from Mr. Arsenault in regards to my RS3, he is not happy with me though... But yeah, we'll see how things go for me, gotta make sure I can still afford everyday life first before dropping some cash on a Hudson 😅
Some nice additions to the collection, I could not tell the difference in the two motors , have great day
Yeah not too shabby eh? Was gonna try to scoop up another kato GP35 but it sold too quick, still looking for a good deal. But yeah if Bowser is finally releasing their script sd40's then id definitely opt for a few, saves me a project lol There really was no difference, gonna try looking at the trucks next, could be bad gears or something???
Hello!!! I could not comment on your new video about replacing motors... Did you try just running the motors without connecting them to the gears? the noise could be the gears maybe. Nice to see you back btw :)
Hey man! Yeah sorry about that, I realized way after the fact that I messed up the editing on that particular upload, so I revised it this morning and re-uploaded, feel free to check it out! I haven't tried removing the worm gears yet to check for truck/gear noise, I'll give it a go when I'm back from work next. It might be worth cutting out a few traction motors haha
Hello watched this video, I'm in the process of assembly, noticed the wires coming off brass tabs, where do they go? Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.
Sorry for the delay, although not the easiest or most user friendly kit to build and use, I had soldered the track leads onto the brass collars. There are two tabs that hide underneath the pit and make contact with those brass collars, which have leads attached and run to my digitrax AR1 (auto reverse circuit) which is then attached to track power. Hopefully that helps!
Shall never buy one of these ever again I shall go.peco
Haha yeah man! I ended up going with the 130' dcc turntable from walthers, it still has a few hiccups but way more user friendly once set up and programmed.
Awesome work! I have one myself that I will need to build. Is there any way for you to share a diagram of how you wired it up? I'm trying to figure out how to actually turn it, and also how to maintain power to the track in the same way you have, even when the polarity needs to switch.
Thanks! It was...ok...haha in my opinion anyway, the wiring is very simple, leads soldered to the individual rails on the table to the two brass collars, when the table is mounted into the pit there are two tabs that will be installed and make contact with the individual collars. Attach leads onto them and you can either use a digitrax AR1 like I have or a SPDT switch, the auto reverse circuit can be adjusted and will allow for seamless transitions, the switch will allow you to reverse polarity manually. You can either spin the table by hand, or install the recommended walthers motor kit. This isn't the most user friendly kit to build or use so keep in mind it will be a process of trial and error! I haven't used mine in quite sometime and would like to return to it, potentially use a different motor, custom mounted, as the walthers one is very noisy and hard to control when lining up tracks perfectly. Good luck and sorry for the delay in my response.
Those are awesome looking Locos. Both sets look AMAZING together. Too bad about those Rapidos, hopefully they get them turned around for you quick. No worries about lack of motivation, and it's good to admit about the finance portion of things. Good to poke around on things. Too bad about the Supra though, but man I'm excited to see what you do with it. Also, not enough room for the rolling stock eh...Do I smell a Helix? Jk...maybe? Glad to see a video from you. You could just post Runskys all day long and I'd watch every one of them. Keep it up Guy!
Thanks man! They are fantastic for sure. It's ok, not that it's a bad thing but to be expected. They'll come back in tip tip shape! Definitely. It was a relief once I had actually cancelled everything. I don't like biting off more than I can chew and it snuck up on me for sure.
New subscriber here. Like to see someone local finally. Just got my rapido d10 and my f8 unit. Nice looking locomotives fella.
We are few and far between, wish I could go further with my 'layout', maybe in a few years...thanks man!

Awesome video dude. Great action, as always. Question, what are those boxcars for? The Red with yellow letters, CP 29113 & 29104? I've never seen them, want to know what they're for and who makes the model. They look cool. Man I could watch these all day. Can't wait for more dude!
Thanks dude! Those are actually athearn RTR's, the boxes say 40' Box Car-Youngstown Door. I think they're just a nice baggage car, which I've been using them as such. But I could be wrong lol
great! funny how I hit Like and it stays at zero lol the 2 boxcars behind the switcher, are they for silk or just regular box cars? Andy W. had built some but all sold out. I want to model a silk train
Gotta love it lol the packaging is labeled as 40' Box Car-Youngstown Door, they are Athearn RTR's and I figured they were fancy baggage cars, which I've been using them as such. So I could totally be wrong Robin, Andy W has produced some absolutely stunning models, I'm very fortunate to have one of his last Robot-1 cars!!!
👍🏽👍🏽COOL👍🏽👍🏽…nice and smooth…good looking passenger consist
Thank you! Rapido FP7A's and Walthers coaches 👌
I dig this. Keep them trains rolling bud. Layouts is looking gooooood
I'm trying dude! Thank you!
Totally agree excellent running session, passenger train looks fantastic very impressive
Thanks again James!
Man, your trains look so good! Those engines run so good together too. Great video dude! Can't wait to see some scenery start to come together but I could watch plywood and track all day long!
These two are probably my best running models at the moment for sure. Thanks man! Haha it takes some imagination to not be so bland, but I agree haha
Nice run to see train a running great share 😎🚂
Thank you!
Alot of nice CP engines!!
Thank you! I might be slightly biased 😅
In the future, I recommend closing the aperture down as much as possible, and then adding additional lights to brighten up the picture. This will increase depth of field so your trains do not go out of focus. Of course, that's assuming you are shooting with a hybrid or cinema camera.
I definitely need better lighting, thank you for the tips and tricks! I am limited to my phone but a camera would be a fantastic investment for myself in the future 👌
Dude, I am loving this series. The angles are good. Great action shots, good switching. It's got it all! Can't wait for the other parts!
Thanks man! I become less proud of it the more time goes by, maybe I'll attempt another mini series like this in the future with more planning, time, and a better camera
Very informative. Thank you.
I'm going to maybe attempt another round of videos on both turntables in the future. Stay tuned and thank you for watching 👍
do you make your video with a phone? the images are great
I do actually, right now I'm using a Google 6a but would like to maybe upgrade in the future. I try to get good shots, thank you! I'm hoping everyone who watches picks up what I'm putting down with this 'mini series'
One question, how did you get your locomotives moving on and off the turntable and how did you place the turntable tracks on the edge of the turntable pit and still make the locomotives moving? I have this and i can't make my locos move and when I connected the service tracks on the edge of the pit, they kept moving when I turn the table.
This kit is a good deal but requires a ton of work to properly function unfortunately. I honestly haven't used it in quite some time now, but I do intend to revive it in the future. I used a digitrax AR1 to auto reverse the table when I spun locomotives (feeders attached directly to the table tracks of course as per kit instructions but you can also use a toggle switch to reverse polarity), I used a 12v DC power pack to control the table motor and even that at a very low speed would make it very difficult to line up the service tracks on either side. But it was possible with enough patience.
Did you need to wire the turntable service tracks to make the trains move or did you have to do something else?@@MAYNE_line
Dude what an action shot right out of the gate! Awesome video dude. Everything is looking great. Can't wait for more!
Thanks man 💪
Great running session, like the passenger cars , progress , what make is the observation car
These are Walthers coaches, mixed new and old, decent for the price considering the amount of detail, and the newer run can handle 18" curves but have longer floating coupler shanks and pockets to account for that, whereas the older cars have the draft gear boxes solid mounted to the car :)
Great start, You are going to have some nice views when you will start putting in scenery. what is the end car on that passenger train, is there a prototype of it? Because I have only seen park cars. Thanks!
Thanks, I hope so! They are Walthers but I honestly have no clue if it is a prototype car or not, the park cars usually have a dome with the observation end right? My guess is it's just based off a US built coach and painted in CP, good question though, guess I'll have to do some research lol
I don't know if you are in Canada or not but the foam from Dollarama won't peel , the stuff from Dollar Tree does in my experience.
Weird, I'll have to run to dollar tree then, because the first few sheets I got from Dollarama peeled no problem, but these other ones I got definitely were not having it lol
Man, I love the ambient sounds from a steamer. I let mine just idle around too.
Hells yeah bruh 👌
any easter eggs on that one? I haven't had time to check and now I do not have any tracks left (I am emptying the basement for a new layout)
I'm exploring it more next week (videos to follow march ish 😜), hopefully there's something good! I haven't actually watched anything on these so it's still all new to me haha
What the heck?!? You didn’t even move it! Hahaha. Looks great though.
Gotta keep you coming back somehow dude 😂
Once around the block please, locomotive is stuck on the tracks, interesting sound ,
Very soon James 👌
The layout is looking great. Too bad that foam gave you problems but it turned out awesome. Can't wait to see those spurs getting worked. That loco looks super sick too. Seems right at home on your layout. Those pictures look sick. I'm the same. Can never find any myself but friends and family always seem to snag some sweet finds.
Thanks dude! Yeah what can you do eh? Weird. You and me both! There's a bit of a break after this, I've been busy, haven't touched the layout lately, working literally everyday. Trains need to be ran before the managers start driving this spring! Strike...you and me both man, maybe one day we'll luck out 🤞
You are having lots of fun, moving is fun, my motto is in a box somewhere, you will have challenges for sure, but keep positive and you will win the battle keep up the great work , you are not done yet
The struggle is real for sure, getting there slowly haha
Adventures in model railroading…😂
100% lol
For THAT kind of cut .... I use a scalpel #11 blade in a surgical scalpel handle ..... FAR superior than the essentially dull X-acto ....
Imma have to get me one of those!
I like to use split cork subroadbed and Atlas track nails; use them for securing the track too. That way if I have to take it back up, all I have todo is pull the nails out.
That's a good idea! I'll have to do something similar moving forward, thanks for the tip!
@@MAYNE_line Actually I learned the track nail thing for laying cork from an old Atlas model train book. That way there is no waiting for adhesives to cure and less mess if you need to take the cork and track, back up. With track held down with adhesives, you have to weight it down while it cures and you can't see if the track is crooked with the weights on it. If you use track nails, you can eyeball it and tweak it after nailing down. Nails can be pulled up with needle nose plyer's.
Looks good to me but what do I know? I can barely dress myself.
Thanks man! Haha you and me both 😂
