🙌💓
NEVER put used pickle down the drain, it’s toxic!!!
I enjoyed your soldering process! Thanks Jane
keep with patience
So maybe I don’t understand fully how a rivet is domed. Basically stretching the flat edge of metal rivet out and then ‘pulling’ it downward to form a dome. Then how do you strike a flat surface and pull down edges and still not mar the base ? All my rivets have sharp edges.
Sol der ing. Not SOD ering. Wtf.
I'm sure you can do it too. Just look for Woodprix plans.

Wonderful! Thank you very much for this beautiful video 🙏
You're welcome! Enjoy!
Thanks for another great video, Christine!
Thank you!
Congratulations for the great work. Thank you for sharing with us. Greetings straight from Brazil.
Thank you so much! I hope you are doing well in Brazil!
Hey!! So you can actually reheat and reuse solder that you have already heated and pickled??
Yep. Absolutely.
Thank you so much! This is the only video I have watched on sweat soldering that has been so thorough!
Thank you!
@@christinecapriolo412 I did it! thank you!
So good. A great poem to accompany this video is "Corsons Inlet" by A. R.Ammons: www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/43073/corsons-inlet
Would you use this same method if using a much thicker ring band such as a thick D wire ie having the ring open as opposed to soldered closed?
I tend to have the ring open instead of soldering a closed circular ring when working with sheet metal. However, if I'm making a ring out of wire, I have soldered it closed on one end and then solder the bezel cup or prong setting to the other end.
The drawings gave me the specific details that I needed 💚💚💚💫 thank you very much
I'm so glad they helped!
thank you, very well explained
Cool!
This is so helpful! Thank you :)
Thanks for watching! I'm glad it helps!
Love your video , what kind of flux do you use?
Rio Grande flux. www.riogrande.com/product/rio-ready-flux/504003gp
Ein super Video und mein Leitfaden bei der Schmuckherstellung. Wie genau hast Du das Silber nach dem Löten gereinigt? Ich meine, wie hast Du es von den schwarzen Feuerflecken befreit, damit es wieder glänzt? A great video and my guide to jewelery making. How exactly did you clean the silver after soldering? I mean, how did you liberate it from the black spots of fire to make it shine again?
I soak my metal in pickle and sand it after pickling to remove any fire scale.
I just looked at you an excellent video. Detailed explanations. What flux do you use and which metals you Sweat Solder? Thank you.
🖓😝
Ha ha ha!
Great video, thankyou!
Thank you!
Great video, the diagrams helped a lot. Thanks!
Thanks! I hope it is useful.
Thanks! I'm glad it helps!
Great video-easy to follow technique.
hello, i see a lot of people making bezel cups from scratch using silver, but never gold filled. do you know if there is a reason for this?
I do not know. Sorry for the delayed response.
Gold is expensive
I was wondering if there is a difference between putting the soder inside or outside the bezel setting! When I put outside I do have to clean up more!
Certainly the clean up is a factor. But when I put it on the outside, it is harder for me to get it to flow all the way around. When I put it on the inside, I heat from underneath and around the outside of the bezel. This way the chances of melting the bezel (by heating in the center of the bezel if the solder is on the outside) are less. Thanks for watching and good luck!
Hi there, Christine! Love the video! Just had a quick question -- what kind of metal do you recommend using? What metals will react negatively when exposed to skin, etc.. (I just don't want someone's finger turning green) Sorry, I'm just new to the whole process here! Izaac
Thanks for the question. I only use sterling silver when making rings. Sometimes my students will use copper or brass but that will turn your skin green. Silver costs more but I think it is worth it. I order all my supplies from Rio Grande. My students have had luck purchasing silver from ottofrei.com Best of luck!
yes this is the best
Thanks!
Thank you very much Great video
You're welcome!
Love your video! What type of torch do you use? And where can I find it?
+Priscilla Suchil I use an acetylene torch. I get the tank from Praxair, an industrial gas company and I got all the attachments from Rio Grande.
