Keep that rod down, you point to where they swim. When they jump out like that they can break it, or get unhooked. You can keep them from jumping by pointing down and side to side, and you have full control!

You almost tried to yank the fish out of the water, it’s suppose to be a hook set, not pulling the fish out with a yank 😂

Next time that happens, stop reeling completely and let the jig set on top of the water and just jig it slowly back to you because the fish will strike again
