Hi, again! It is amazing (at least to me) how this was thought before 1896 to come up in that year. As an ignorant on industrial and other subjects, I am also amazed how Germany (and other few countries) already had machinery to make this and other guns, etc, etc😮😮. The quality of the steels, fitments, funnishings, bluing, or chrome plating, etc... OMG, to me it is unbelievable. How I wish I had the previledge to work with this kind of arms!! Thanks for this video, and your top quality videos!

Again another high level class. And I thank you again for that. I am portuguese and this country had Luger guns, before change to the Walther P-38, in the 60s. We had some different models, along the few contracts we had. Most of ours came from the D.W.M. but also Mauser sold some of them to us as well. What a remarkable gun!! It is so good to know that many people with knowledge still have, and take good care of this World History Segments, that this time got here in guns shape!! 1000 thanks for this show

Yes! I just posted a similar comment on another of his video!! ❤ These guns came up in 1896. So was thought some time before. Just look at the design, materials, quality of work, finnishing, etc, etc... 😮Many times ahead of their time!! Everytime I go study History, Germany always drives me crazy...

Thank you for this video. I was having the issue where the bolt and extractor extending forward enough that I could not insert the stripper clips. I was concerned that something was out of spec but now I know that is common and my fix, which was to pull bolt back a little more, insert stripper clip and then release bolt to put pressure on back of the clip, thus freeing the pressure on the follower, is the correct method.

Hello Mr. Lugerman, I recently came into the possesion of a C96 but the one I have does not have the sliding distance sight. Nor does it appear that it was chopped off. The serial numbers all match (minus the magazine plate) starting with 136 which appears to place it as manufactured around 1913. Any idea what I'm looking at?

My gun was working perfectly, I went to load it for the first time to make sure everything was alright. It was so loaded fine and so I took the magzine out and unloaded it. Afterwards my bolt wouldn't lock back. I don't know if my spring isn't strong enough or what

Hi Eugene, I have a problem with one of my C96s. The bolt is impossible to rack back to chamber the 1st round unless the muzzle is pressed against something hard and the upper receiver is then pushed back by 1/4 of an inch. I have tried swap bolt springs and nothing seems to work ? Could you let me know how I can remedy the problem? Many thanks.

I have exactly the same problem with my shnellfeurer model 712 , a few months back I could crack it easily , of course with some force , but now because of my age [74years] I can't pull it without unlocking it against a hard surface .

I have a 1917 Artillery model and the 'pull' required to pull back the toggle seems much more than it should take (judging by videos and movies!). Any thoughts on where I should be looking to correct this? Thanks

I notice there are two C96s on the table. One is gray and one is black. How do you achieve the gray color? I assume it has been rust blued. Do you preheat the metal before applying the acid? Or is the acid a specific brand to get that grey color?
